'I' is for Insecurity
Emily sat on the porch, a sad look on her face. Next to her was a letter. It was from her sister and what was in it was not improving how she was feeling. Her sister had said that she was feeling much better, almost enough to come back and fight.
Fight? Was Emily not even needed now? She knew she was a replacement but did her sister want to take back her place so bad? What if, what if the rest of the gang agreed? What if they thought her as just a place holder? What if, what if Mike dumped her if her sister took her place?
She liked Mike. He was fun, outgoing and always cheered her on. He knew what to say to make her feel better. He was her forest to her earth. She never had a boyfriend and way too many disappointments in life to deal with him breaking up with her. Could it be possible that there could be two yellow rangers like there are two rad rangers? No of course not. The only reason there were two red rangers was because both of them were extremely strong. She wasn't. She didn't even deserve Mike. He fought Xandred and helped them to win. What did she do? She couldn't even deal with Kotoha, who kicked her, excuse her French, ass every time they met.
Mike deserved the kind of girl who could keep up with him and that he really deserved. He deserved a lot more than her. Just then Mike came and sat by her.
"Hey Emily." He raised his eyebrow when she didn't answer, "Em?"
"Mike, what would you say if I asked to break up?"
"Break up? Em, where is this coming from?"
Emily stood up and turned to Mike, tears in her eyes, "My sister's better now. Enough to come back. It made me realise that I'm not enough. I'm not a good enough ranger or girl for you."
"That's not true. Em, you are perfect for me. You can kick my but, you laugh at my jokes, you balance me out and you're the earth to my forest. It took some ranger from the future for me to realise how much I love you. Why do you think I love being with you?"
Emily couldn't help the tears from falling as she fell into Mike's arms. Maybe she shouldn't be so insecure. Because Mike could always bring her out.
