L is for Lightening

Lightening flashed in the sky, thunder's loud boom following straight after. Rain clouds came rushing in and the wind blew through the trees. Water churned and whipped all around hitting against the rocks harshly.

Kotoha pulled her mōfu, a Japanese blanket, over her head. Xandred's boat shook from the storm outside and her stomach shook with it. She was a half-nighlock, she shouldn't be afraid of some stupid storm. But she was, terrified actually. Poking her head out she looked at the empty futon where Mako would have been. No doubt she went to Takeru.

A loud boom of thunder caused her to shriek loudly. The door to her and Mako's room opened

"Kohota? Are you ok?" she turned to see Chiaki standing in the doorway. In the next flash of lightening, she shot from her futon and into his arms.

"I hate it that I'm scared." She said into his chest, "this isn't fair."

"Hey, we're half-human remember? Besides, I can prove you're not the only person scared of storms."

"Some kids aren't going to make me feel better."

"Not kids. Come on." He pulled her to the front of the boat and pulled her into the water, going to the human world

Shiba House

"What are we doing here? We can't through." Kotoha asked, as she saw the familiar emblem of the Shiba family

"Unlike Decker, we don't go into our Nighlock forms unless necessary. Their shield won't keep us out." Chiaki pulled Kotoha through the doors and the two half-nighlocks snuck into the house. He went towards the light that was in the common room. Peeking around the corner, they saw the female Red Ranger sitting one of the abdomens. She flinched when thunder boomed throughout the house. The Gold Ranger walked up to her and handed her a mug.

"I had no idea you were afraid of thunder."

"I would sleep with my dad during storms. When I moved to the safe house, I had to ruff it out by myself but sometimes Samuel, the Kuroko who takes his mask off, would come and talk to me till I fell asleep. But I'm 20, he can't do that anymore."

"Hey if it makes you feel better, when I got my soul switched with a fish thanks to Switchbeast, I became afraid of fish."

"But the Barracuda Blade…"

"Yeah I know, plus Octozord and Clawzord but eventually Mentor made me face my fears head on, by eating sushi."

"I still can't believe that you were afraid of fish."

"Hey your brother is still afraid of spiders, so I think you have nothing to worry about. And if you want someone to talk to, you can always talk to me."

Kotoha looked on in surprise. A Ranger was afraid of thunder?

"Well if that little dumb blonde is scared of it, I have nothing to worry about. Thanks Chiaki." She said kissing him on the cheek

Chiaki embarrassingly rubbed the back of his head, a blush evident on his face, "anything for you."

Short I know but hey bet you didn't think I'd use the half-nighlocks to be a main couple. Lauren/Antonio was the side pairing in this one. Please review!
