M is for Memory

Lauren was in the house's office looking for a book on past Rangers. The half nighlocks had been using items from previous Ranger's times and she needed to brush up on her ranger history. She found the book she wanted but it was on higher shelf. Using the shelf in front of her, she stood on her toes and tried to grab the book. She pulled it out but also pulled out half of the shelf as well.

Antonio opened the door to the office when he heard Lauren's scream. He saw her on the floor rubbing her head.

"Hey you ok? I heard you scream."

"Yeah, I needed to get this book to help me with the other Rangers. I ended up brining down the whole shelf. Help me?"

As the two picked up the books, Antonio picked up one that was halfway opened. Being the curious person he was, he opened it and let out a little laugh.

"What?" Lauren asked

Antonio turned the book towards her. It was a photo album and one of the pictures was Lauren about 6, standing over her brother. She obviously just beat him and had her foot pressed into his back. Poor Jayden had tears streaming down his face.

"You are such a bad sister." He teased

With a blush on her face, she tried to explain, "I didn't realize how hard I hit him. If it makes you feel better, I got in huge trouble with my parents."

Antonio looked at other pictures when he saw a strange one. "Hey, who's this girl in this photo?"

It was Jayden sitting next was an Asian girl. She was wearing a pink dress and you could a black and pink device in her cardigan pocket

"Hey. That looks like Mia. I think that's the TurtleZord in her pocket." Lauren said.

"I think we should go ask them." After piling the books in the corner, the female red ranger and gold ranger found the couple lounging on the wrap around patio.

"Hey Jayden you remember this photo?" Lauren showed him the photo

Jayden raised an eyebrow and then looked at the girl who was resting on his chest, "Mia, have you ever visited the Shiba House when you were younger?"

"Um, yeah I think so. I think it was about 3 weeks before the war between our parents and Xandred. Why?"

"I think that's you in that photo."

Mia pulled out the photo and looked at it. She recognized the cardigan. It had been a favourite of hers when she was younger.

"Oh yeah, that's right. I had no school and my grandmother had something to do that day and Terry had a field trip. My dad was on a business trip so mom brought me here. That's right; you were that little kid who was crying on the patio

Flashback

Mia held her mother's hand as they walked from the car and entered the Shiba House.

"Ok sweetie, do you want anything?" Mia shook her head, "ok, well I have to get to training. We'll be in the inside dojo if you need anything. Just follow the sound of kendo sticks." Her mother left her in the common room and walked away. Mia played with the TurtleZord when she heard crying. TurtleZord flew out of her and to the sound. There she found a boy with blonde-brown hair wearing a red shirt under a grey hoodie and jeans crying. In front of him was a girl, her blonde hair in a ponytail.

"Jayden, I said I was sorry. Please forgive me." Jayden ignored the girl and continued crying. The girl looked conflicted before she stood up. "I'll be inside if you decided to talk to me."

Mia hid when the girl came inside. After seeing she was gone, Mia walked outside where the boy was wiping away his tears.

"Stupid Lauren. She didn't have to step on me." He sniffed

"Siblings can be a pain huh?" Mia said

Jayden turned and saw Mia, who had stopped to his level. "Who are you?" he asked

"I'm Mia. My mom's the Pink Samurai Ranger."

"Aunty Erika?"

"Yeah, what about you?"

"Jayden. My dad's the Red Samurai Ranger."

"Who was that girl?"

"My stupid older sister. She beat me in training and wouldn't get off my back."

"My little brother can be so annoying when he's not playing guitar. He keeps stealing TurtleZord and teasing me." Mia complained as she moved to sit next to Jayden

"Siblings are annoying." Jayden said, his tears finally gone

They heard footsteps and saw their parents heading their way.

"Did you have to swing that hard?" Jayden's father ask Erika

"I'm sorry. But hey if you can't dodge that, how are you supposed to dodge attacks from Xandred?"

"Mommy, are you done with training?"

"Oh, not yet sweetie. I see you met Jayden."

"Yeah, mommy can you take a picture?"

"Sure." Erika pulled out her Samuraizer and opened it. She pulled up the photo option and stood in front of the future Red and Pink Ranger.

End of flashback

"I'm surprised I didn't remember you Lauren." Mai said

"And I still can't believe that you stood on my back. I couldn't breathe." Jayden said glaring at his sister

"I said it was an accident. I'm sorry. You forgave me didn't you?"

"Eventually and only because dad promised to give me the last ice cream."

"I knew you took it! That was mine!" the two siblings began to argue while the Gold and Pink Ranger laughed at their friends antics
