So sorry this chapter is late. College and fanfiction writing don't go together. This chapter is gonna be short, but I hope you enjoy it none the less.

S is for Swim

The days in Panorama City where heating up. The days seemed slow with the heat and Mike took every opportunity to complain about it. When they had to train, when they had to go fight, when they had to help with chores or just in general. Kevin was getting more and more annoyed before he finally snapped.

"I can't take this anymore! We're going to the pool just so I don't have to hear you complain anymore." He yelled before storming out of the common room to tell Mentor Ji.

"Yes! This is perfect. Everyone, get changed and meet at the car in 30 minutes!" mike said before running off to his room. The rest of the Rangers shrugged and followed after. Emily closed the door to her room and went to her dresser. She pulled out a yellow and white tankie, denim shorts and white throw over. She changed and tied her hair into pigtail braids and tried not to think of where they were going.

Her friends didn't know, but she wasn't the most confident swimmer. She was more of a monkey at heart, climbing trees than swimming in rivers. When she was younger, she almost drowned during a family trip and didn't particularly like swimming if she didn't need to. But she could just relax by the pool and she didn't have to get anywhere close to the water.

Nodding to herself, she quickly packed her other things and meet Mike at the car. Soon everyone was in and headed to the pool.

"Mia, what are you going to do if people recognise you?" Lauren asked the Wind Ranger.

"Say hello? I like meeting my fans but I'm pretty sure they'll be too hot to crowd me. I know I would." Mia said as she pulled her wavy black hair into a ponytail.

They pulled up to their local YMCA that seemed to be full of people. The group signed in and went down to the outdoor pool, which wasn't as crowded. Ignoring the yells of the lifeguards of not to run, Mike and Antonio were able to secure five seat next to each other near the shade. Emily sat on one of the chair while the others pulled off shirts and shorts, in Mia and Lauren's case.

"Kev, thank you for convincing Ji to let us come. I thought you'd never give in." Mike said, with her

"Wait, you knew I'd get annoyed?"

"Mentor is immune to my complaining, you not so much." Mike said before taking off, Kevin right behind him.

"Guys, slow down. You're going to hurt yourselves." Lauren said before going to try and stop them. Antonio looked down at Emily who had made herself comfortable on her chair, sunglasses in place and a book in hand

"Uh, Em, are you not getting in?"

"No thanks. I'm good."

"Are you sure? We did come here to cool off."

"I'm sure. Trust me."

Shrugging, Antonio went to go to shower before jumping in the pool. Emily watched as Mia sprayed herself and Jay down with sunscreen before heading to the water themselves. She continued reading, changing her position every now and then until something blocked her sunlight. She looked up to see Mike looking down at her, his body wet from the water.

"Em, come in. we want to play chicken and I'm not putting Kevin on my shoulders."

"Oh, uh, no thanks Mike."

"Em, please? You haven't gone in since we got here. Are you embarrassed about your swimsuit? I don't why some girls are like that, but I think you look amazing in anything."

"It's not that. It's, uh, um. I can't swim."

"Really? That's it? Why didn't you say so? If you want, I can teach you."

"You really don't have to." Emily started but Mike shook his head

"Forget it. I don't like seeing you sit here by yourself. Come on."

Seeing she couldn't get out of it, Emily stripped down to her swimsuit and followed Mike down to the shallow end. The rest of time was spent Mike teaching Emily to kick, move and even thread water. When they finally left the pool to head back, Emily gave Mike a side hug.

"Thanks for putting up with me."

"Hey I didn't mind. I get to spend more time with you. But if you did drown, I would definitely save you."

"You always do anyway."

Short, not a lot of fluff, but I hope you enjoyed it. Please review
