Chapter8
"Here we are" the pink haired guy said slowly as driver barked his car in front of the blonde's home. He looked out from the window and then looked at Lucy who was silent and still sitting down beside him. "Lucy…" he called silently and then the girl snapped her head towards him and then looked out from the window.
"Ah, we are here" she said and then opened the car's door getting out from the car being followed by the pink haired manger. She spaced out and wasn't aware that they already reached her place. She walked until she reached Natsu's spot and stood looking up at his eyes. lucy didn't know what was wrong with her. She looked really normal when she looked at his eyes that shared the same look but deep inside of her heart she was deeply hurt. She missed him, she missed looking at his eyes, she missed touching his pink hair and smells the scent of the shampoo he used, she missed his clumsy self when they were together, she missed when he comforted her when she was crying, and she missed everything about him. But, Lucy felt different, everything became different, Natsu became different and her as well. When she first Natsu she never knew he turned out to be like that. She is so afraid to be the only one that feels the same way and he completely forgot about their past together. Even though she knew that she deeply hurt him but she wanted to believe that he still had something in his heart for her. she took a deep breath and let it out, she raised her head to the pink haired forcing a smile on her lips.
"Thank you" she said that in more formal way trying to control the flowing feelings that came from her heart. Natsu returned the smile and rested his hand on the car's door then he looked at her house. He remembered now, this house was the same house Lucy lived her life in before. How could he be able to forget something like that? He didn't actually felt that before but he felt something was up, he felt coming here before. He then returned his head to the blonde who was looking at his face with meaningful eyes.
"I" the salamander started catching her attention. "I should have remembered by now that this was your family's house" Natsu said slowly as she got a shock from what he said. She didn't know that he didn't know that it was her old house. She thought that it was a big coincidence being followed to her house and found the son of his come out of nowhere.
"I-Is that so?" she said feeling sweat drop from her forehead, he really did change.
"I don't know how was I able to forget and remember it now, I really have no idea"
The silence spread in the place as both of them was looking at somewhere in the place. "Ok" Natsu said catching the blonde's attention and forcing her head to look at him "I will be leaving now, do you need anything?" he stated as he kept looking into her eyes. This was pretty strange, really strange. How could he speak to her after those years, it was painful and un-painful the same time. He wasn't sure how should he feel in the moment, but the only thing he was sure for that he really missed her and wanted to give her warm tight hug from those hugs they shared years ago but his position of having a child and his position of being the one who was hurt prevented him. No matter how many times they shared many looks and how much they missed each others, nothing will convinces him and made him change into his back self. Maybe he acted so nice to her.
"Ok," she paused looking down at the ground and then opening her mouth to speak "s-see you later" Lucy walked towards the door of her house as she grabbed the keys of that door and opened the door slowly without looking at the back. Even when she went inside, she never looked at him but what really made her do that? she closed the door behind her and then stood behind it looking at the house's roof as her tears fell down automatically. How many times she held them and didn't let them out? How many times she was regretting leaving Natsu behind and go to a tragedy life that she didn't get from it except for pain? How many times she wished to be together with Natsu when she was crying? How many times she cried when she missed his warm tight hug? How many times she blamed herself when she remembered the last look Natsu wore when she told him about her leaving to the city. Lucy fell down to her knees as she started sobbing really hard. She lived a hard life and the times she needed him she couldn't find him. She doesn't blame him if he hated her because she did the worst mistake ever and he might not forgive her for the rest of his life.
"Mama" Lucy heard her son's voice as she quickly raised her hand to wipe away the tears. Ryu, the blond kid came hugging his teddy bear to his chest as he kept looking at his dear mother with worried eyes. Lucy forced a smile on her lips as she stretched her arm to grab his small hand and bring him towards her.
"Why are you still awake?"
"Mama, are you alright?" he asked worriedly.
"Of course I'm" Lucy touched his cheek calmly as she started to rub his head.
"But… you were crying"
"Mama missed grandma" she said as she kissed her son on the forehead and brought him into a tight warm hug. She missed her dear mother who died months ago but lied to the little kid and told him that she travelled somewhere in the world.
"She is going to be back soon" he said as he broke the hug to look into his mother's face "and until then I will be the one to protect you" she smiled automatically from his cuteness and how innocent he was. She touched his cheek and planted a kiss on one his cheeks.
"You are the man of this house"
"Yes, I'm"
