CHAPTER 13 THE FINALS
It was later in the evening and Naruto sat at his favorite ramen stand devouring his sixth bowl of ramen for this sitting, while Kuza has being fed by Ayame who was just giggling over how cute he was.
"You know you're going to spoil him if you keep it up." Naruto said with a grin
"Well sometimes cuties just need to be spoiled." Ayame said as she scratched Kuza's ear
"Yeah big brother let me have this I don't get this kind of attention that often." Kuza replied with a smile as he got his ear scratched
"Whatever." Naruto sighed as he went back to his bowl.
He then heard someone come up behind him. He looked to see two girls one with pink hair and another with platinum blonde hair staring right at him as they walked through the curtains of the ramen stand.
"Oh Fox." Sakura said a little shocked. At the new arrivals Ayame walked into the back to check on her father.
'Great.' Naruto thought to himself
"Oh look at that." Kurama said in his head
'You had something to do with this' Naruto said
"How?" Kurama replied confused
'I don't know but you did' Naruto replied
"Hello there Fox" Ino said with a smile "So you like this place then."
"Did till you guys found me." Naruto said as Ino sat down next to him and gave Sakura a look to sit as well "Now I am gonna have to find a new hang out spot."
"Haha, you're too funny." Ino laughed "now come on those little lunches you went on with us and Mei weren't that bad. Besides you got to know about us but we never got to know anything about you"
"There was nothing about that whole scenario that didn't make me so disgusted I wanted to violently vomit out my own internal organs." Naruto replied
"Oh quit whining you got two vixens to talk to you that is the most I have seen you talk to in a while" Kuza yepped from his stool
"Shut up Kuza no one asked you." Naruto replied looking over to the small fox
"Um who are you talking to?" Ino asked
"Just Kuza." Naruto said as she looked around him and saw the little fox sitting on the stool next to him
"Oh he is so cute" Ino squealed in delight as the fox jumped upon the counter and walked over to her and just looked at her. she reached out and began to scratch behind his ear.
"Traitor." Naruto sighed
"Just cause I can pull in the vixens and you can't doesn't mean you need to call me names." The fox barked
"I'll call you whatever I want" Naruto shot back getting a weird look from Ino
"Call who whatever you want?" Ino asked
"Kuza here always giving me shit." Naruto sighed
"You can understand him." Ino asked
"Of course I can, he is my partner after all." Naruto said as if it was obvious
"So kind of like how the Inuzuka's talk with their dogs." Ino asked
"Yeah I guess." Naruto replied
"Someone talking about me?" came a male voice from outside
"Oh hi Kiba." Ino said as he walked in with Akamaru in his jacket
The little puppy gave a bark as he jumped out of Kiba's jacket on to the counter and began to sniff at Kuza who just did the same.
"Now Akamaru play nice." Kiba said as he took a seat, and the pup just looked at him and gave a yip of confirmation.
"So Fox what you up to?" Kiba asked
"Well I was enjoying a peaceful meal till I was interrupted." Naruto sighed.
"Yeah not much peace and quiet around these two." Kiba laughs
"And what is that supposed to mean dog breath?" Ino asks
"It means your talk a lot even when the person you're talking to doesn't want to hear it." Naruto says, getting a chuckle out of Sakura.
"Oh shut up billboard brow." Ino says as a bowl of ramen is put infront of the two of them
"Why don't you Ino pig." Sakura yells back and the two start to arguing
"So what brings you out at this time." Naruto asks Kiba
"Training for the finals." Kiba responds "aren't you supposed to be body guarding the Mizukage?"
"Yeah but she is taking a personal interest in her genin's training and since I am technically not part of the mist she doesn't want me to watch." Naruto said
"So one of their genin is being trained by the Mizukage eh?" Kiba said
"Or I merely said that on her orders to psych you out and get you scared for the upcoming match." Naruto said with a grin
"Wait ah" kiba stuttered "Whatever, don't let much out do you?"
"It's the only way I have survived this long in my job." Naruto said
"Yeah being a merc must be tough." Kiba said
"You have no idea." Naruto said with a sorrowful look that Sakura caught while in her argument with Ino. "But hell I got my freedom and that is the most I could ask for."
"Now you're just rubbing it in." Kurama said
"So any word on the council's decision?" Naruto asked
"Sorry the adults are being really tight lipped about it." Kiba said "they really don't want us kids to know much on this, especially about you're condition. Most we know is what you told us other than that nothing. Also they want us to stay clear of you. Wait hey you're trying to just get information out of me." He accused
"Well you tried to do the same to me." Naruto said
"That I did so we're even I guess." Kiba said
"Yeah sure why not." Naruto chuckled
"Ah what decision." Sakura asked
"Sorry council business." Ino said
"Just about me getting what belonged to my family." Naruto said
"You mean the fourth's?" Sakura said getting a stunned look from Kiba and Ino.
"How do you know about that?" Ino asked
"I told her and her team while we were in wave." Naruto explained
"Yeah right after he saved me." Sakura said in a soft voice
"Yeah Sakura why didn't you tell me what really happened to you in wave?" Ino asked looking at her
"What are you talking about?" Sakura asked
"I told them everything about wave and what happened seven years ago." Naruto said
"Why?" Sakura asked
"Because they were at the council when I talked to it." Naruto said
"So everyone knows that…" Sakura started to tear up and drop her head when Ino placed her hand on her shoulder
"Hey you always got me here to talk to and for any help you need." Ino said getting Sakura to look up at her getting pulled into a hug.
"Thanks." She said as she wiped the tears away.
"By the way Fox I was wondering if you could help with my training" Kiba asked
"Wow a dog asking a fox for help never thought I'd see the day." Naruto asked
"Well seeing you have a fox partner I am assuming you have some combo attacks using him and since dogs and foxes are pretty much brothers you could teach me something to help me fight Neji." Kiba asked
"Don't think your mom would like you being trained by someone with my 'condition' as you put it." Naruto said
"Perhaps but from the story that you told us about what you did for sakura when you were kids and I know Kakashi wouldn't lie about what you did in wave so I guess you can't be all that bad." Kiba said with a smile
"Are you just saying that just cause you want me to train you?" Naruto asked defensively
"No I honestly believe that" Kiba replied
"Well just to tell you I don't teach people my tag team techniques." Naruto said
"Oh come on please." Kiba pleaded "At least have a spar with me."
"Now you got my attention." Naruto said "Haven't had a good spar since bushy brow."
"Alright maybe you could give a few pointers afterword?" Kiba asked
"Well maybe a few pointers on your own technique guess I could do that." Naruto said
"Alright this is gonna be awesome." Kiba said "I get to train with a mercenary from outside the village."
"Yeah not many in the village can say that can they now go get some rest I want a good match and if you stay out to late you'll be too tired for the match." Naruto said
"Right later then." Kiba said as he walked out "hey come on Akamaru." He called to his puppy who jumped away from Kuza and after his master.
"Well this should be interesting." Naruto sighed
"From what you said at the council didn't think you liked this village that much?" Ino asked
"I don't but the sinners of the father shouldn't pass to the son" Naruto said
"Wow that's deep." Ino replied
"Yeah and besides those Hyugas are the snootiest and I want to see them get knocked down a peg even if it is the branch family. Also he has got a lot of spunk reminds me of myself a bit." Naruto said with a grin as he stood up.
"Where you going." Sakura asked
"Back to my room to get some sleep for that match. He deserves my full attention if he is going to give me his." Naruto replied
"Alright we'll see you around then." Sakura said with a wave
"Yeah sure." Naruto said as he walked away "Kuza lets go" he said and the fox jumped away from Ino who was scratching his ear.
Ino and Sakura watched as he walked away.
"You may not want to admit it but you feel something toward him don't you?" Ino asked
"I I don't know." Sakura said as she lowered her head.
"Hey kit why you walking away." Kurama asked
'To get some rest for the match' Naruto replied
"We both know that is a load of shit. You could beat that kid in your sleep." Kurama said
'And why do you think I am going to bed?' Naruto replied
"Cause you don't want to be around the pink haired one cause you actually got feelings for this one." Kurama replied
'Ha that's cutie me have feelings for her.' Naruto said
"Keep denying it but we both know you're just trying to cover it up." Kurama sighed
"Why do you even care? thought you hated her?" Naruto asked
"I do but this conflict in your head is just annoying me." Kurama said
'What conflict?' Naruto asked
"You know what never mind, you just too thick headed to see it." Kurama said
'And what is that supposed to mean? See what?' Naruto said but got no reply as he walked up to his hotel
The next day Kiba waited at the training area for Naruto. He only had to wait a short time for Naruto to show up.
"Alright let's do this." Kiba yelled with excitement.
"Just calm yourself. You won't be able to be able to beat Neji let alone even come close to scratching me. If you go in halfcocked and over excited" Naruto said
"Fine." Kiba said as he took a breath to calm himself.
"Alright since you're an Inuzuka your fighting style relies on the your dog partner." Naruto said
"Yeah." Kiba said
"Your senses are heightened to help with tracking." Naruto explained
"You seem to know quite a bit about my clan." Kiba said suspiciously
"Well since my connection with the foxes are similar to yours to your dogs. So I did my homework on you guys" Naruto said
"So you spied on us?" Kiba asked
"What no I just have contacts that told me about you all." Naruto said with a smile
"Yeah right." Kiba said with a frown
"Well you ready for this." Naruto said as he got into a fighting position as Kuza jumped next to him
"Alright I'm ready." Kiba said as Akamaru jumped out of his coat and in front of him.
Kiba and Akamaru charged at Naruto and Kuza who just stood there till the last second and both side stepped the attack as if it was nothing.
"Come on you gotta be faster than that." Naruto goaded
"Take this Man beast clone." Kiba said as Akamaru turned into a copy of himself "Fang Over Fang!" he yelled out as both him and Akamaru turned into a tornado and ripped toward Naruto and Kuza
"Kuza?" Naruto said
"Right." Kuza said as he jumped into Naruto's shadow and faded into it and Naruto jumped into his own shadow.
At the disappearance of his opponent Kiba and Akamaru stopped their attack. "where did he go?" Kiba said with concern looking at his partner who just gave him a confused look.
"I can't smell him what about you?" Kiba called out to his partner, who just shook his head
"What can't find me?" came Naruto's voice
"What where are you." Kiba called out looking for the voice
"In a battle there are only a few things you can trust." The voice came back
"What? What was that?" Kiba said
"Quite I'm giving you a lesson." Naruto's voice came
"There are only a few thing you can trust in a fight." Naruto said
"Yeah yourself and your partner." Kiba said
"And your enemy." Naruto said
"What do you mean your enemy?" Kiba asked confused
"You can always trust your enemy to strike when you're distracted and at your weak points." Naruto said as out of nowhere Akamaru was attacked without notice and fell down turning back into his normal form.
"Akamaru!" Kiba yelled and ran over to him
"See hitting your weak spot." Narutos voice came back
"What do you mean he is my strong point." Kiba said as he got into a fighting stance
"Yes but once he is down you are open." Naruto said "and once you don't have a partner to trust you can't trust anything, not even your shadow." Came his voice as he launched out of Kiba's shadow and punched him in the gut.
"Awwahh." Kiba yelled out as he blacked out
Naruto stood over Kiba and Akamaru. "well looks like that didn't last long." He sighed as he picked up Kiba and Kuza picked up Akamaru and they laid them down at the base of the tree.
After a few minutes Kiba and Akamaru came around.
"Ah what? What happened?" he said as he looked around and saw Naruto sitting on a boulder a little ways away.
"You lost." Naruto said as he tossed a can over to him Kiba looked at it and saw it was a can of soda.
"But how?" Kiba asked as he opened the can
"I used your strength as a weakness." Naruto said
"What? You knocked out Akamaru and then hit me out of nowhere." Kiba said
"Exactly your partner was your weakness." Naruto said
"Your saying that Akamaru is my weakness." Kiba shot
"Yes." Naruto said
"But he is my partner he would never hold me back." Kiba said defensivly
"Not intentionally." Naruto said "he is still just a pup and needs to become stronger so he gets up to par with you."
"What?" Kiba asked
"You have to be on the same level to fully help each other." Naruto said "that is how me and Kuza work so well together we are both on the same level and work as one. His strengths are yours and yours are his as are your weaknesses."
"I get it so to get stronger, Akamaru has to get stronger." Kiba said
"No." Naruto said as he put his hand on his head and shook it getting a confused look from kiba. "You two have to get stronger together and be equal in strength."
"Oh ok." Kiba said then looked over at Akamaru "let's get stronger together." He said with a bark from Akamaru
"Alright now that, that is over I think I will help you take down that Hyuga." Naruto said
"What why?" Kiba asked
"Like you said foxes and dogs are pretty much cousins and we always look out for family. Yeah lets go with that." Naruto said with a smile
"Alright sure what's your plan?" Kiba asked that was when Naruto pulled out a glass bowl and a stone "Huh what's this?" he said confused
"The way to beat a Hyuga." Naruto said as held up the stone "this is the Hyuga" then set the stone down "and this is his 'perfect' defense" then put the bowl over the stone "you need to get the stone without touching the bowl."
"But how?" Kiba asked
"That is for you to figure out." Naruto said as he walked away
"But how? thought you said you were going to help me." Kiba yelled to him walking away
"I can only take you so far the rest of it you must figure out on your own only way to further yourself is finding your own way." Naruto said as he moved further away
Naruto walked around town for a bit getting hateful looks from the villagers but all stayed at a distance.
'Well at least they don't mess with me anymore.' Naruto said to himself 'but the stares are still just as bad as before.'
Just then he began to hear giggling from behind a bush outside a fence. He went over to investigate and saw an older man with white hair going down his back and wearing a red vest. The man was looking through a hole in the fence giggling. Naruto looked around and saw a sign for the bath house.
"You know if you wanted to spy on the guys bath house then you could of just gone in." Naruto said to the old guy who just froze
"The hell you talking about you little brat I was looking at the girls bath!" the old man yelled at the top of his lungs swinging around grabbing Naruto by the collar
"What there is someone spying on us. Ehehee." Came the voices of the women in the bath.
"Damn't" the old man said with tears in his eyes and whiting out looking back at the fence. He then turned toward Naruto with a rage in his eyes. "why you how dare you interfere with my research."
Just then he got a better look at the person who had interrupted his research. "Minato?"
"What?" Naruto said looking at the man with confusion
"How can you be here your dead Minato." The old man said
"The hell you talking about?" Naruto said little angry at hearing his father's name
"Hey kit this is the legendary toad sage Jiraiya." Said Kurama
'This old perv? You sure?' Naruto asked
"Yeah trust me I had to listen to his shit enough while I was sealed in your mother this is definitely him, and seems he thinks you're your father." Kurama said
"Wait you can't be Minato you're just a kid." Jiraiya said
"Yeah that was my father." Naruto said
"Wait little Naruto?" Jiraiya said
"Oh don't give me that confused look, knowing who you are you have already talked to the Hokage and he has already told you who I am and that I already know everything about who I really am. Also I go by Fox now." Naruto said
"Well fine if you're going to be like that and take all the fun out of it." Jiraiya sighed
"So I am guessing you're here because the old man asked you to try and convince me to stay here." Naruto said
"Don't know what you're talking about I am here cause the exams are when all the ladies from around the ninja world gather and come to our hot springs." The old perv chuckled
"Who you kidding? The old man wants me to be here in the village and got you to try and convince me to stay." Naruto accused
"Well not gonna get that past you am I. fine yes the old man did want me to convince you to stay. But do you know why?" Jiraiya asked
"To make up for all the hell the village put me through while I was here?" Naruto replied
"No why he choose me to do it?" Jiraiya asked
"Cause you were my father's mentor and he thought because of that connection you could convince me." Naruto explained
"Well that is only part of the reason but the main reason is because I am your god father." Jiraiya said
"That just makes me want to beat the hell out of you for abandoning me when I was a child." Naruto said with a pissed off look on his face.
"Fine you are right I should have been there for you back then I have no excuse." Jiraiya said sorrowful "But I would like to make it up to you" he said hopefully.
"Sorry pretty sure that ship has sailed, and you will never be able to convince me to stay here I like my freedom." Naruto said
"That I can understand. After being on the road for as long as I have I would never want to be tied down to a single place again." Jiraiya said "and I wouldn't be able to do my research." He said peevishly.
"Well that's good to hear and I read those books." Naruto said "not that great."
"How would you even know you're not even old enough to read it." Jiraiya said defensively
"I'm a merc I break rules on a daily." Naruto said with a grin
"Right of course maybe I can write my next novel about a lone cold hearted mercenary that only wishes for the love a women that is pure and warm hearted his opposite." Jiraiya said as he pulled out his note book
"Holy shit kit he got you pegged with that pink haired girl." Kurama said with a bit of shock and a chuckle
'Shut it.' Naruto shot back
"If I find any book that resembles a merc like me I will hunt you down" Naruot said
"You think you could take me then." Jiraiya said with a grin
"No I know I can't touch you… yet" Naruto said as Jiraiya smiled in victory "but I will go to every bath, spa and whore house on this continent give them your picture and tell them to be on the lookout for you." Naruto said as Jiraiya got a look of fear "and then I will go to the other continents. I got friends in the… transportation biz and can get me over to them." At this even more fear shot across his face.
"Fine nothing based on a merc got it." Jiraiya said defeated and tore up that piece of paper he was writing on.
"Good catch you later." Naruto said as he walked away
"Hey we should talk some time and … catch up." Jiraiya said
"Possibly." Naruto said with a wave
'Alright at least I have foot in the door' Jiraiya said to himself
"Why are you giving him a chance." Kurama asked
'Cause even if he is a perv he is also a Sanin.' Naruto replied
"You have a point there." Kurama said
'And he might be able to help me with my father's technique and seals.' Naruto said
"Ah I see where you're going with this." Kurama said
'There is always a plan.' Naruto replied
1 month later
Naruto stood in the Kage's box behind Mei with the Hokage and Kazekage. He stood there with the past month going through his head. He had spent the last month mostly relaxing and 'catching up' with Jiraiya.
"So lady Mizukage I heard of your takeover of the Mist." The Kazekage said
"Yes and hopefully this will lead to a better life for those in the mist then it was during my predecessors reign." Mei replied
"I heard you had some help from a mercenary." The Kazekage said
"Yes Fox here was essential in finding and returning many of the missing nin to my cause." Mei replied
"Well perhaps I could hire him myself." The Kazekage said
"As long as you can pay and from what I have heard you can't really afford me." Naruto said
"And an upstart can?" The Kazekage asked
"She has hired me for jobs in the past and taking these jobs now for a discounted price help open a door for later." Naruto replied
"And why wouldn't you do the same for the sand?" The Kazekage said
"Well one I don't like the heat and well there is just something about you that don't smell right." Naruto said with a snort getting the Kage to be quite.
After their conversation Naruto looked down and saw the Genin who were about to fight standing down in the field, while the Hokage was giving his speech that Naruto was again not listening to. After the first match was announced he watched as everyone but Kiba and Neji walked out of the arena.
"Well let's see if he as figured it out yet." Naruto said to himself but just barely loud enough for Zabuza to hear.
"So you trained him then." Zabuza said
"Just gave a few pointers." Naruto replied
"Even though you're working for me you helped a Leaf ninja?" Mei asked
"Hey you told me to take the time off cause you were training your guys. So I used my personal time to my own accord." Naruto defended "besides I only helped him with the Hyuga didn't tell him anything about the mist."
"Very well" Mei sighed as Kiba and Neji got into a fighting stance.
Kiba started off with man beast clone and his double fang over fang attack which was blocked easily by Neji's defense. This went on for a while till one of the tornados was tossed to the side and a white puppy landed on the ground out cold behind Neji. This made the other tornado stop and an enraged Kiba stare and just growl at Neji.
"See without your dog your nothing." Neji provoked as Kiba attacked with his fists but was repeled. "Fate has dictated I win you had no chance" he said as kiba was thrown back rolling across the ground. "Now stay down mutt."
Kiba began to push himself up looking at the ground but he was smiling "what are you smiling for." Neji asked
This just made Kiba look at him with a grin laughing as he was surrounded by smoke and in his place was Akamaru.
"What that's impos…" Neji said as he went to go look at where Akamura was but was cut off by a fist to his chin sending him soaring on to his back out cold, and Kiba panting over a hole where Neji had been standing.
"Well looks like he figured it out." Naruto said with a grin as the Kiba was named the victor.
"Looks like whatever you said to him helped." Zabuza said
"Merely gave him a nudge in the right direction." Naruto said with a smile
"The second match will be Sasuke Uchiha verse Gaara of the sand." The ref called out
"Seems Sasuke hasn't shown up so he will be disqualified." The Hokage sighed
"I would advise against that Hokage sama." The Kazekage replied
"And why is that?" the Hokage replied
"Well a lot of people came here for this match; it might make some people upset and look bad on your village." The Kazakage said
"This is true we shall move his match to the last one of the first round but if he doesn't show then there is nothing more I can do." The Hokage
"Well let's hope he doesn't take too long then." The Kazekage replied
"Don't hold your breath he is Kakashi's student after all." Naruto cut in just making the Hokage shack his head as he gave the announcement for the next match to begin.
"Very well, will the next competitors please make their way done Kankuro and Haku" the ref called out.
At this Haku began to walk down the stairs but stopped as Kankuro forfeited
"Very well Kankuro forfeits the winner is Haku." The ref called
"Bet Haku is upset he didn't get to have his match after all this waiting." Naruto said
"Got that right." Zabuza gritted his teeth wanting to see how his student had advanced under the Mizukage's training.
"Very well will Shikamaru and Temari please make their way done to the arena." The ref called out. At this Shikamaru walked down the stairs as Temari jumped off the side and glided down with her fan.
The match started out with Shikamaru testing Temari with his shadow possession jutsu and her attacking from a distance. But it stopped in a stale mate as Shikamaru sat in a meditative position then out of nowhere Shikamaru attacked again with his shadow only this time it reached out to Temari forcing her to jump back even futher away stopping just where he could barely reach.
"Enough of this I am ending this" she yells as she slams her fan down and prepares to use start using a jutsu when all of a sudden she can't move. "what I can't…"
"Shadow possession complete." Shikamaru says as he stands up
"But but how?" Temari asked confused and a bit scared.
"Just look behind you go ahead I'll let you." Shikamaru said with a smirk Temari looked behind her and say a shadow attached to hers coming out of the hole that kiba had made while fighting Neji
"I just simply had to force you to where I needed you to be." Shikamaru said with another smirk
"Damn he has her." Fox said with a grin "he is smart."
"He is skilled no one can deny that." Zabuza said
"He is a genius and looks like he deserves to be a chunin thinking his way through this and forcing his enemy to do what he wanted." The Hokage said with a smile
Shikamaru raised his hand making Temari do the same with his Shadow possession jutsu "I forfeit." He says getting an awkward silence from everyone and nearly making Zabuza and Naruto fall down
"What the hell?! He has her?" Naruto says in confusion looking down
"He may be a genius and can beat anybody in a strategic match but there is only one thing that trumps his genius, and that is his own laziness." The Hokage sighed shaking his head
"Aaaah right the winner is Temari." The ref said as Shikamaru cut his possession
As he began to walk away Temari called out to him "you had me why did you give up?"
"Just getting you in that shadow possession used up all my chakra," he said casually "besides going any further in this tournament would just be a pain." He said rubbing the back of his neck as he walked away leaving a confused Temari standing there.
"Well now to return to the match that was delayed will Gaara of the sand and Sasuke Uchiha please make their way to the arena." The ref called out. After a few moments Gaara walked out but still no Sasuke to be seen.
After waiting ten minutes Sasuke was still nowhere to be seen 'well looks like he still isn't here so I have no choice but to disqualify him.' The ref thought as he began to raise his hand "for not appearing at the required time Sasuke Uchiha is here by dis…" just then there was gust of wind and there in the field was Sasuke and his one eyed master.
"Yo." Kakashi said giving a slight wave "we aren't late are we?" he asked
"We had to delay your match and wait ten minutes for you to show. I was just about to disqualify him." The ref said
"Ah only ten minutes I am getting better." Kakashi said with an eye smile as everyone sighed and paled a little
"Damn even amongst mercs his tardiness is legendary but to see it firsthand just makes me wonder how he ever made Jonin." Naruto sighed shaking his head
"Well since you're here we can begin the match." The ref said as Kakashi jumped away from the arena, and Sasuke got into a fighting stance "ready begin." The ref called as Sasuke shot straight at Gaara with the same speed Lee had and then began to also mimic his attacks on Gaara while Gaara just blocked them with his sand.
"He seems to have gotten faster." Naruto said watching the match as Sasuke made a hit on Gaara. They watched as Gaara's defenses where failing.
'Looks like our brother is in need of some help.' Naruto grinned to himself
"Don't count him out yet that is only his vessel fighting only using his sand defense. He hasn't even tapped into his true power." Kurama said
Just then Gaara let out a yell as he was enveloped by a ball of his sand. Sasuke went for another attack but was kept back as sand spikes shot out from the ball
'A perfect shell of defense but that won't win him the match.' Naruto sighed to him self
"Not a shell a cocoon." Kurama said
At not being able get close to his opponent Sasuke jumped back on to arena wall. He began to go through hand seals and electricity began to build in his hand as the sound of chirping birds sounded through the arena.
"Ah so Kakashi taught him his personal jutsu." The Hokage said
'Kinda wish he hadn't.' Naruto sighed to himself with a flinch as he touched the spot where Kakashi had hit him with that jutsu
Once he had finshed getting his jutsu ready he shot down the wall with even more speed than before as he got closer to Gaara the spikes shot out toward him and he evaded them by millimeters and struck the shell with his Chidori and it found home. Sasuke jumped back as another spike shot out at him.
"Mother I'm sorry." They heard Gaara's voice come from the shell as his sand fell apart "I'm sorry I'll give you his blood." He said as he fell to his knees grabbing his head blacking out.
"First time I've seen a human get past Shikaku's cocoon." Kurama said
'Well we will have to…' Naruto said but stopped as he sniffed the air "SHIT!" he yelled as he jumped on top of the Mizukage as the booth exploded.
