CHAPTER 14 FIGHT BETWEEN LOST SOULS
Naruto got up out of the rubble of the Hokage's box to Zabuza fighting off a group of Sound Ninja.
"Ah see you're done taking advantage of my Kage." Zabuza says as he slices through another Sound ninja.
"You just made I felt up your girlfriend." Naruto says as he helps Mei out of the rubble
"It's nice to have men bickering over me but we have other things to handle Zabuza what's the situation?" Mei asked
"Well the Sound and Sand are attacking the Kazekage grabbed the Hokage and now they a going at it up in that big cube over there." Zabuza explained "then the kid in the ring ran off but part of his face was… mutated is the best I can describe it."
"Shit Shikaku must be trying to take over we gotta stop him or else he may cause more trouble for us." Kurama says
'So time to beat some sense into our little brother?' Naruto asks
"Just a little bit." Kurama says with a grin
"Alright I'm sorry but I have to go deal with Gaara." Naruto says
"What can't you leave him to the guy he was fighting that went after him." Zabuza said
"No he won't stand a chance he is the one tails so I need to take care of family business." Naruto said
"Very well I understand. Besides nothing I say will be able to change your mind on this so do what you must." Mei says as he jumps away from the arena toward where Gaara had gone "Now gather your team and help out the leaf I am going to see if I can assist the Hokage in any way." Mei said looking over at Zabuza
"Right" Zabuza said as he jumped away to get his team while Mei jumped over to see what was going on with the Hokage
Naruto ran through the city toward the scent of Gaara. 'damn't we gotta get to him before he does to much damage.' He thought
"Didn't think you really cared what happened to this place" Kurama said as they entered the forest
'I don't but if it gets destroyed by a bijuu then that will just make things more of a headache for the rest of the Jinchuriki.' Naruto replied
"Ah right didn't think about that." Kurama said
'And that is why the world hates you only thinking about the here and now never about the outcome of those actions.' Naruto sighed
"What can I say I like destruction." Kurama said
'The hell you talking about you're just a big softy.' Naruto said with a smile
"Say that again and I will kill you." Kurama shot back
'Just with a hard outer crust.' Naruto teased "shit." He yelled as he jumped out of the way of a cluster of kunai. Just then three men in ANBU masks appeared on the branch in front of him.
"Surrender demon." The one in the middle said
'This is the thanks I get for trying to prevent a tailed beast from running amok in their village? Maybe I'll let him destroy a few things.' Naruto thought to himself
"Ha now you're speaking my language and maybe we can destroy a few as well." The fox laughed
"Well guessing since you're after me and not fighting the Sand and Sound you work for Danzo then?" Naruto said
"We don't need to answer to you." The second one said
"Why cause I hit the mark." Naruto said with a grin "Just to tell you he sent you on a suicide run." Naruto said with a an evil grin as his demon chakra began to seep out, and his fingers began to resemble claws his whisker marks became more defined and his hair became wild.
"You don't scare us." The first one said
"Don't lie I can smell the fear resonating off of you." Naruto said in a demonic voice as he charged, putting his clawed hand through the first guys chest with ease.
"I didn't even see him." The second guy said
"Like I said suicide." Naruto said as he appeared behind the second one raising up his sword. But just before he could strike him down a lion that seemed to be made of ink appeared out of nowhere attacked him forcing him to dodge it. "well that's new." He said cutting the lion making it burst into ink looking at the third person who seemed to be his age judging from the height cause of he couldn't see his face.
"Thanks he almost had me." The second guy said
"Heh what do you mean almost?" Naruto said with a grin as a blade shot through his back and out his chest then ripped to the side letting blood spew from him and falling down dead. Just then the third felt a blade at his throat he just glanced back and saw it was a clone standing behind him with a sword around his throat.
"Now I have message for your boss." The real naruto said
The ninja simply nodded
"Do you understand?" Naruto asked just to get another nod "don't talk much do you?" and just received another nod "alright whatever here tell your boss if he wants me that bad come for me himself don't send your lackeys." He said with a death glare only to still no reaction from the root ANBU except a nod
"You know you're taking all the fun out of this." Naruto says with a frown. "alright now get." He says as the ANBU jumps off the branch and pulls out a scroll and draws something on it and a bird erupts from it and takes him away.
"Well gotta get moving to catch up to Shikaku." Naruto said as he jumped to find Gaara
Sasuke had jumped away from another barrage of sand shuriken. He looked over at Gaara who had begun to look like a raccoon made of sand from the waist up just on his left side.
'Damn ever since he transformed like that his power has increased beyond anything I could imagine.' Sasuke thought as he flinched as the curse seal started to spread 'damn not now.' he thought as his body began to tense up and he couldn't move his body as he slowly fell to the branch he was on open for an easy attack.
Gaara pulled his sand coated hand back to punch the downed Uchiha.
"NO SASUKE KUN!" came a female voice as a pink blur jumped in front Sasuke and took the hit pinning her to the tree
"SAKURA!" Sasuke yelled from the branch
"Why? Why did you stop me? Mother demands his blood." Gaara said squeezing her against the tree not letting her breath to answer.
"Hey leave her alone." Came a hesitant voice causing Gaara to look over and see Kenma standing there.
"What is this? A scared little whelp can't even stand in my presence without pissing himself." Gaara said with an evil grin twisted by the sand enveloped half his face.
"I said leave her alone." Kenma said as he charged with his kunai at the ready but was smacked away with ease.
"Why why do you fight for someone else. To prove your existence you should only fight for yourself to prove your strength." Gaara said
Just then a blur of black and orange sliced through Gaara's sand arm separating him from his hand holding Sakura to the tree. Gaara jumped back away to another tree. The hand holding on to Sakura tightened holding her there squeezing the life from her. Sakura opened her eyes and saw Naruto standing in front of her with his back to her.
"If you want to save her you must defeat me for my sand to release her." Gaara said with an evil smile.
"Oh really?" Naruto said as he raised his hand and it was covered with demonic chakra and clawed. He raised his hand to the sand holding Sakura and ripped it across making it release her. She fell to the ground gasping for air.
She looked up at him and he stared down at her and said "pathetic." Causing her to stare up at him. He then looks over at Kenma "Hey you get these two out of here."
"What are you doing he is my opponent." Sasuke says as he forces himself to stand up
"Sasuke Kun." Sakura says as she gets up and stumbles toward him
"Enough this is a fight between demons." Naruto says looking back at him with his demon eyes and not wanting to be argued with. "I'll give you credit for holding your own this far, but you don't stand a chance against him." He said as a cloak of chakra enveloped him resembling a fox with one tail.
"Alright let's get out of here." Kenma said as he put Sasuke's arm around his shoulder
"Fine." Sasuke said knowing this was not his fight anymore. They jumped away with Sakura following close behind. As she jumped away she took one glance back toward the Jinchuriki about to do battle
"Please be alright." Sakura said under her breath as she followed her teammates.
"Well now that they are gone let's get down to business." Naruto said
"Mother will have your blood." Gaara said as the rest of this face was enveloped by sand
"Seriously tell him to figure out what his gender is." Naruto sighs as he charges hitting Gaara with full force launching him through another tree
"No no you will die." Gaara yelled as more and more sand began to shroud over him, and he started to grow. He grew above the trees but didn't stop.
"Well shit." Naruto said as sand started to wrap around him encasing him in in sand.
"No mother will have your blood." Gaara yelled as he held out his hand "Sand coff…"
"SUMMONING JUTSU." Naruto yelled as a poof of smoke puffed out of nowhere.
Sasuke, Sakura and Kenma all stopped and looked back to a huge smoke cloud above the trees.
"What's that?" Kenma asked
"Looks like a sum…" Sasuke started but just then a giant fox emerged from the smoke waving it's nine tails around. "The nine tailed fox!" Sasuke yelled in shock.
"No imposable he will destroy the village." Kenma yelled
"Calm down obviously Fox summoned him to fight the other they will be too busy fighting each other to worry about the village." Sakura said
"Damn it feels good to stretch my legs." The giant fox said as he stretched out his body
"Yeah yeah let's just deal with this guy first." Naruto said
"Right, and remember I can only be out of my cell for ten minutes after that the seal will forcibly pull me back in." Kurama said eyeing his opponent
"Yeah I know." Naruto said
"Possum jutsu." Gaara said as he fell asleep.
"Alright time to meet my brother." Kurama said
"How so?" Naruto asked
"He can only take over while his container is asleep." Kurama said
"Ah ok. Wait please tell me you never done that while I was asleep." Naruto said with a hint of fear.
"I have never done that while you were asleep." Kurama said flatly.
"Wait that was to easy don't be bullshitting me." Naruto shoots back
"I couldn't even if I wanted to it has to do with the seal holding him in, it seeps out while he is asleep." Kurama said "And your seal won't allow that. Now let's take care of him before I am pulled back in."
"Right how should we deal with him then?" Naruto asked
"Wake up the container and Shikaku will lose his hold on him." Kurama said
"Thought you wanted to talk to your brother." Naruto asked
"I do but when he gets like this only way to make him listen is to beat it into him." Kurama said
"Alright let's do this." Naruto said as Kurama charged
"Air bullet." Shikaku yelled as he launched a shot of wind at Kurama and Naruto. Kurama jumped over it with ease and whipped a tail down ripping off Shikaku's arm.
"AAHAHAHAH!" the one tails yelled as his arm was torn off.
"Oh stop being such a baby little brother it'll grow back." Kurama joked
"Alright get me close to give that kid a good whack." Naruto said
"Got it." Kurama said as he lunged at Shikaku and grabbed him with his teeth and claws
"Alright kit let him have it." Kurama said as Naruto jumped to hit his fellow jinchuriki. Once he was close enough he hit Gaara with everything he could put into his fist waking the boy up.
"Aha no I just got out too play to." Shikaku whined as his eyes dulled.
"Wha.. what happened." Gaara said looking around then spotted the blonde standing in front of him on Shikaku's nose "You, you hurt mother, you'll pay!" Gaara yelled as sand wrapped around Naruto.
"Hurry up kit my time is almost up." Kurama said
"Yeah I got it." Naruto said as he let off another burst of demonic chakra scattering the sand away from him he then lunged toward Gaara with another fist. But this time he was caught by Gaara's sand stopping him just inches from his face
"Not this time. This time your blood will be mine for hurting mother." Gaara said staring him in the eye.
"Ah God damn't." Naruto yelled as he swung his head back and whipped it forward cracking it against Gaara's. Once he did that Gaara froze and the sand forming Shikaku began to harden and then crack.
"Always knew that thick head would come in handy someday." Kurama said as he puffed into smoke returning to his cage
As Shikaku fell apart Naruto and Gaara landed on the top of separate trees.
"Why why are you so strong it's not fair I have fought my whole life for myself and power." Gaara yelled as he jumped at Naruto.
"Well who the hell ever said life was fair!" Naruto yelled as he jumped at Gaara. They connected in the center each punching each other in the jaw.
They landed at the bottom of the forest and layed there for a moment.
"You know we are the same you and I." Naruto said while on his back
"What?" Gaara asked
"You and I both born to be containers for an evil that can't be set loose upon the world." Naruto said "Neither one of us asked for this but we have to make due with what we have, and fighting for power or to just prove your own existence won't help." He said as he rolled over and pushed himself up with a bit of effort. "You need to find someone or something other than yourself to fight for that is where true strength comes from." He said walking over toward him
"Then what is it you fight for?" Gaara asked "This place those others you saved from me?"
"No I fight for us." Naruto said getting a confused look from the red head "for a world people like you and I can be accepted."
"I don't understand." Gaara asked
"I never had a family as a kid so you me and anyone else with a tailed beast in them they are the closest thing I will have to family so I fight for them." Naruto said "Even if I have to end their pain." He said under his breath with pain
"I.. I understand." Gaara said.
"Good now you have a family and even though they seem a bit afraid of you they still love you I am sure." Naruto said with a grin
"My… my family? They love me?" Gaara asked confused
"That makeup wearing one and blonde with the fan, they are your brother and sister aren't they?" Naruto asked
"Yes, but they only fear me like everyone else." Gaara said
"Only cause you make them fear you. They are family no matter how much they may be scared of you they still love you I am sure if you let them in you will see." Naruto said with a stupid grin
"Very well I will try." Gaara said
"And don't forget you got another brother right here." Naruto said with a grin pointing his thumb at his chest. "I go by Fox but to those close to me I am Naruto."
"As strong as ever I see Kurama." Shikaku said with a defeated tone "You are the nine tails after all."
"You know why I won brother?" Kurama asked
"Because you are the nine and strongest amongst us." Shikaku said annoyed he was rubbing it in.
"No I won because me and my container act as one." Kurama said
"What?" Shikaku asked
"Me and this brat I am sealed in we are friends, brothers." Kurama said "Yeah we may have our disputes but I trust him and he trusts me and we are able to work together and defeat anything thrown at us" Kurama said
"Wow never thought you would ever say that about a human." Shikaku said
"Well this one is different than any I have met before he accepted me for the demon I am and didn't hold it against me." Kurama said "Also his will and stubbornness are respectable even if he is a little thick headed at time." he said with a chuckle
"Well I will have to keep an eye out for you two then." Shikaku said
"How about you keep an eye out for the one you're partnered with he needs it." Kurama said
"What like we could be friends like you two." Shikaku said
"It's a hell of a lot easier than always fighting for control with him." Kurama said "I even get some yard time" he laughs
"Well I will see no promises." Shikaku replies as he begins to fade.
"One last thing stop telling him you're his mother you're a guy." Kurama said
"He was the one who came up with that not me but I will try to make him stop." Shikaku says finally letting out a small chuckle as he faded from the conversation.
Naruto looked down at Gaara as someone jumped down in front of him, he looked up and saw it was the blonde with the fan.
"Temari right?" Naruto asked
"Gg…get away from him or I will…" Temari stuttered.
"Or you'll what stutter at me." Naruto chuckled
"I'm serious leave my brother alone." Temari said
"Impressive even though you know what I am you are still willing to protect your brother wish I had a sis like you when I was growing up." Naruto said with a grin making her blush a little. He then looked down at Gaara "See told you they care about you now take good care of them." He said as he turned around and jumped away
Temari just stood there staring off at the person who not only took down her brother while he was in full possession but summoned the most powerful bijuu. "who is that guy?" she said under her breath
"Temari please help me up." Gaara asked looking up at his sister.
"Oh right." She said as she bent down and put his arm around his shoulder and jumped away.
Shortly they ran into Kankuro catching up with them. "Ah there you guys are I saw Gaara in full possession and it must have been the loss of chakra or something but I could of sworn I saw the nine tails as well."
"You weren't seeing things, that was the nine tails and he injured Gaara pretty bad." Temari said
"What are you alright?" Kankuro asked looking at his little brother. At hearing this Gaara knew Naruto was right and began to tear up.
"Temari, Kankuro." He said in a sad voice getting their attention
"What's up are you alright?" Kankuro asked
"I'm I am just sorry for all the pain I have put you two in the past." Gaara said
"It's alright Gaara don't worry about it we forgive you it's all in the past." Temari said
"Yeah don't worry you're our brother we will always look out for ya." Kankuro said
Naruto jumped through the trees till he found the three genin he told to run for it before his fight. He landed next to them looking ragged with torn clothes and a few beads of sweat and blood running down his face from where he head butted Gaara.
"Fox." Sakura said in shock as he landed "My god what happened?"
"So you're saying you didn't see that epic fight between two demons? You might want to get your eyes checked." Naruto asked with a smirk
"No mean I saw that I just…" she started but couldn't finish
"I saw it, are all ninja battle like that?" Kenma asked
"Well I ain't a ninja so that wasn't a ninja battle." Naruto said getting Kenma to look down in shame "But in a sense yeah a fight to the death is normally how they go not holding anything back that is what a true warrior or ninja does in a fight."
"Oh." Kenma said looking even more disheartened
"That was an epic fight." Sasuke says
"Oh the great Uchiha complements someone other than himself." Naruto says with a chuckle
"Well even I can give credit where it's due." Sasuke said "even if you are a dobe."
"Hahahha well in that case I guess I have to give you credit for holding out for as long as you did against a tailed beast." Naruto chuckled "even if you are a teme. Ha there we go that's your new nickname." Getting the Uchiha to smirk
"Well better go report what happened out here." Naruto said
As they approached the village a group of leaf ninja stopped them
"What happened out there?" the first ninja asked "we saw the Nine tails fighting another monster."
"Don't worry about that it has been dealt with." Naruto said for the first time the ninja got a better look at Naruto then got into a fighting stance "you're the reason that monster attacked. You released the nine tails on us again you demon!" the ninja said getting ready to attack.
"Shut up you idiot." Sasuke said to the ninja
"Oh Uchiha San I didn't see you there." the ninja said obviously one of the ninja who was a supporter of the last Uchiha
"Yeah now shut up if it wasn't for him and the nine tails that monster would have destroyed the village." Sasuke said
"What no impossible the Kyuubi is only destruction nothing more." The ninja said
"Well I just saw it now go bother someone else we need to get to the hospital." Sasuke said as the ninja ran off
"Maybe you ain't so bad after all." Naruto said with a grin
"I just get annoyed when people just see me for my name and not who I am." Sasuke said
"Yeah I can see how that can get annoying." Naruto said "well I gotta go see how Mei and Zabuza are if anything happened to her it will look bad on my rep." he said with a smirk
"Aren't you going to go to the hospital to get healed." Sakura asked with concern
"Ha like they would let the demon child in their precious hospital. No I will be fine I got the fox to help with my healing one of the perks of having been stuck with him." Naruto said
"Oh I see." Sakura said lowering her head in shame at the village.
"Well gotta go." Naruto said as he jumped away
"Seemed like she was genuinely concerned about you back there." Kurama said
'Aren't you taking a nap or something since you just had a good little fight to wear you out?' Naruto asked
"Actually I feel all full of energy ready for a second round." Kurama said
'Great now you're gonna keep me up all night aren't you?' Naruto sighed
"Yeah most likely." Kurama said with a smile
'You know some times I really hate you' Naruto said with a sigh
Naruto jumped from roof to roof to when Kuza jumped out of a shadow next to him.
"Hey little brother what's the situation around here?" Naruto asked
"Seems like the leaf has been able to hold off its invaders." Kuza replied
"Alright where is Mei and Zabuza's team?" Naruto asked
"Over at the building that the giant cube formed on." Kuza replied
"Alright guess that's the first place I need to go." Naruto said as he jumped off toward the building
Naruto landed next to Mei who was standing on the roof watching a group of ANBU carry something away.
"Hey Mei what's going on?" Naruto asked
"The Hokage is dead." Mei said with a hint of sadness.
"What?! How?!" Naruto asked with shock
"The Kazekage was actually Orochimaru in disguise and planned this whole thing." Mei said
"That bastard." Naruto said greeting his teeth.
"Thought you hated the old man?" Kurama said
'Yeah for hiding the truth from me but he was still the closest thing I had to family when I was little Orochimaru will pay for this' Naruto said to the fox
"He is a Sanin you don't have a chance against him even with the amount of demon chakra you can control" Kurama said
'Then I guess I'll just have to get better then huh.' Naruto said with a grin
"Why do I sense a training trip coming on?" Kurama sighed
'Still have to work out the details' Naruto said back
"What about Zabuza?" Naruto asked leaving his conversation with Kurama for later
"Probable off doing what he does best." Mei said with a smirk
"So looks like the leaf will need some assistance from you guys after all this." Naruto said
"We may not be able to provide much seeing as how we just got out of a war ourselves but they will get whatever we can offer." Mei said
"So when we heading back?" Naruto asked
"Well you can head out whenever you want my other body guard is meeting us just outside the village in a few days so stop by the mist whenever you want to receive your pay." Mei said
"Alright then I guess I'll see you guys around then." Naruto said
"Yeah we will be seeing you then." Mei said as Naruto jumped off
"So kit what we gona do now then?" Kurama asked
'Well we are going to get my family scrolls for one thing then see what kind of use they have." Naruto said
"So that feeling about a training trip was right on the money then." Kurama replied
'Yeah but only trick now is getting my family scrolls without the old man's backing.' Naruto said as he leapt from roof to roof.
