So I have cold.

And when I have a cold I'm basically like Blaine on medicine, only I've got no one to put VapoRub on my chest.

Which means no smut. Boo. And a drabble that's basically reminiscing on that time Blaine was a sick, adorable puppy.

Honey

When Blaine wakes up, he realizes that, first of all, Tina left. Second of all, his head is pounding. Third of all, he really has to pee.

When he gets up, he's dizzy for a moment; when his eyes refocus, he spots a little note on the pillow. He grabs it with a hand that feels swollen- much like the rest of his body.

The note is written in little, tidy handwriting that Blaine recognizes as Tina's, and it reads,

Hi Blainey, I hope you're feeling better. I had to go home, but I'll come over tomorrow.

Xoxo –T

He smiles; Tina cares, and that feels nice. He sets the note down on his nightstand, and stands up slowly, limping to the bathroom. By the time he's back to his bed, he feels worn out, and mostly like he could sleep another ten hours. That's just what he's planning to do, until his phone rings to loudly and he's groaning when he's fumbling to get it.

"Hello?" he sniffs.

"Hey," Kurt's voice is just a bit too loud for Blaine's aching head.

"Oh, hey Kurt." He coughs.

"Ouch, that sounds like it hurt." It does hurt. "Are you alright?"

"Got a cold," he says quietly.

"Hmm?"

He tries speaking louder. "Got a cold," he says, and coughs again. It burns his throat.

"Oh, that sucks. I'm sorry, you probably want to go to sleep, I'll call again later-"

"No, no, it's okay. What's up?"

Kurt goes quiet for a moment. "Just… Rachel. She was being a bitch for a while now, and I got upset. But I don't want to be upset with her, you know? I miss old her."

"I'm sorry-" he almost says 'honey' at the end, but shuts his mouth on time. "What are you going to do? Maybe you should talk to her?"

"Already did," Kurt sighs. "We're gonna compete against each other on Midnight Madness."

"Wow. That's serious."

"Wait, how do you even know what Midnight Madness is?"

"You're not the only one who's been snooping around every NYADA website," he replies, reaching for the Kleenex on the nightstand and blowing his nose loudly.

"Are you sure you're okay? You need to rest to get better, you know."

Blaine bites his lip, smiling a little smile. "Yeah, I'm a little tired." There's a pause. "Can you… maybe… stay on the phone with me until I fall asleep? You know how I hate being alone when I'm sick."

Kurt doesn't confirm or deny that statement, just lets out a quick "Sure", and Blaine hears something that sounds like a computer coming to life as Kurt starts humming.

Blaine wakes up again hours later, with the phone on the pillow next to him and remembers what he said in a rush. He can't decide whether to smile or slap a hand against his forehead; he goes for both, before dialing Kurt's number to ask for news about the Midnight Madness.

This time, when he congratulates a cheerful Kurt, he lets the 'honey' slip out, and he can hear the smile in Kurt's voice when he goes on about the exciting competition.

Okay this is a pretty suckish chapter, courtesy of me being sick. I just might re-write it tomorrow, so keep an eye out for that.
