Cat: Well, that was a good episode!

Cat: This story is in Yuzu's POV. Please give me some artistic licence. If i put some stuff that isn't in the anime in here, don't flame. There would be no point in reading, if it was just the anime in words.
Chapter 23- Arcane Eyes
I could swear that every one of Sora's duels was getting weirder by the day. I cringed at the opponent's first move, realising that this person's preferred duelling style was 'Sing Duelling', a very uncommon and unpopular way of duelling. It was basically what it said on the tin; nothing was spoken. Everything, from drawing to summoning to playing face-downs was warbled out.
I do respect everyone's different styles and forms of duelling. They fit different people's personalities and certainly make duels more interesting. When I was in the mood, there was nothing better than watching Yuya's entertainment duels or my dad's 'hot-blooded' duels… But singing?
And to make matters even worse, Sora decided to join in. Not that he was a bad singer (I wasn't really paying attention whether he hit a 'C' or whatever) but that meant the duel went even slower because Sora was guaranteed to go the long way round to win, just so he could fusion summon for me to observe.
My stomach twinged slightly at the thought. I felt extremely guilty, misplacing Sora's gift and having no idea where it was. I was hoping that he might have had it, when I arrived at the venue but he made no signs suggesting he did. He would have given it back immediately, probably with a flea in my ear about looking after my cards. But he didn't.
My next biggest fear (along with it being blown into the sea or thrown in the rubbish) was that Yuto had it. He said it hadn't 'suited me' so why would he bother giving it back? And besides, I doubted that we would see him anytime soon and, if we did, I probably wouldn't have time to stop and chat and ask if he had my Fusion card and if he wouldn't mind giving it back…
Shun hadn't taken it, Masumi hadn't taken it, neither had her two friends from LDS…
That left Yuya. I sunk down in my seat, my heart sinking with me. Yuya would have given it back with my other cards. It must have been taken by someone I didn't know, meaning there was a 99.9% chance I was never going to see it again.
However, I pushed the emotions down and watched as Sora warbled the last few notes of his direct attack, slamming the opponent into the back wall, as he still sang about losing his life points. Yep, definitely not my cup of tea.
"I did it, that's six wins!" Sora jumped excitedly as I descended the stairs to meet him on the field.
"Congratulations!" I said when I joined him. "Now you're qualified to enter the JYC!" I opened my mouth, building up the courage to tell Sora that my spell had vanished, seeing as he was in a good mood and I was likely to come out with less bruising.
"Let's go!" Sora grabbed my hand. "If we don't hurry, Yuya's duel will be over!"
"Wha-?" I squeaked, as he steered me towards the door.
It had completely slipped my mind that Yuya was still dulling so he could compete in the tournament too. I had completely forgotten to ask him how his first two duels went when I last saw him. I blinked and ran behind Sora, being dragged by the hand to wherever Yuya was.
After running through many streets, hopping on a bus and running again, we ran through the back door of an extremely creepy looking school that I swear had never existed until I saw it, all mysterious and gloomy. Once inside, we ran down a dark, echoing corridor, through some dark purple curtains into blinding light.
"Good, it's not over yet!" Sora gasped, as we stared down.
Squinting, I saw Yuya and his opponent, a mysterious girl, duelling and getting really into it as I could already see. The Action field looked like a war had just happened, debris lying everywhere. The ginger girl had a humongous monster on her side and it was obviously not a normal summon. However, I wasn't fussed about her because it was Yuya's turn and, from the hype from the crowd, it could be a complete game-changer.
"And now…" Yuya shouted, pulling a card out of his hand and holding it high above his head, giving me the tiniest glimpse.
"That's-!" My breath caught in my throat. How-?!
"I activate the spell card Fusion from my hand!" Yuya announced.
"Yuya's going to fusion summon!?" Sora squawked.
I could only stare, my mouth hanging open like a dead fish.
"The monsters I choose to fuse are Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon and Stargazer Magician! Wielder of strange powers, become a bright light in the eye of a dragon! Fusion Summon!"
We watched, entranced, as glowing orbs or red and white fused together.
"Come forth, arcane dragon wielder of ancient magic's! Rune-Eyes Pendulum Dragon!"
I covered my face with my arms as a shock wind tore through the stadium, ruffling everyone's hair and (in some cases) cloaks, some even falling down and revealing faces, only to be pulled up in a flurry, the audience not wanting to be identified, which was a bit creepy.
Gone was the familiar Odd-Eyes that we all knew and loved and here was the new upgraded version. The huge beast had the characteristics of the old but had aspects of the new, given by Yuya's magician. In a way, it looked like a robot version but, at the same time, it didn't.
Yuya had just accomplished a great feat, flawless on his first try but you wouldn't have thought so, staring at the figure balancing on a huge (for some reason) broken circle. You would have thought, with his demeanour, he had been doing it for years and it was nothing new or special.
"Miss," Yuya smiled at his opponent, making me bristle slightly. Why was he being so polite!? "If Rune-Eyes Pendulum Dragon used a Spellcaster-Type monster that was on my field as fusion material, the amount of times it can attack my opponent's monsters changes based on the level of that Spellcaster!"
Yuya… This is…
"When the fusion material's level is 5 or 6, I can attack three times!" Yuya held up three fingers. "It's show time!"
Yuya took off running, then jumped, landing on his dragon, not on its back but in the centre of the ring that protruded from the duel monster, which kept him levitated, I guess, due to gravitational forces that can be part of Action Field monsters.
The girl watched hopelessly as the dragon ran circles around the duel area, as Yuya declared his attacks.
"Unending Shining Burst!" Yuya grinned, seconds before the three monsters disappeared in a shower of golden triangles. However, his opponent didn't seem very upset about it, in fact she seemed awed. And, for some reason, it annoyed me.
I was torn away from the thought as Sora began descending the stairs, to get down to the main floor. I ran after him, wanting to congratulate Yuya and also get my card back.
I felt a great surge of relief pass through me as it hit me that my card had in fact not been stolen but picked up by a friend who would give it back… Even if he did use it. But it helped him, didn't it? He was probably in a real jam, if he had to use a card he had hardly experienced before.
Glancing down, I saw that the field had vanished and Yuya was back on the ground. The three, Futoshi, Ayu and Tatsuki had already joined him and were gabbing away enthusiastically.
"That was amazing!" Sora screamed, as we ran up to congratulate him. "I knew you were going to do something amazing! You pulled off a perfect fusion summon without me teaching you anything!"
"Wait, Sora, Yuzu, when did you get here?" Yuya blinked.
"Yuya… That was…" I tried to find the words to describe how I felt but no words came from my mouth.
"Ah, sorry!" Yuya looked slightly sheepish as he pulled a card out of his deck. "I used this without asking you…"
He extended the card to me but I stared at it as if I had never seen it before in my life. Suddenly, I felt bad taking it. Yuya had just pulled off an amazing combo that made Pendulum summoning even stronger!
He should have it, not me…
"I'm giving this back to you," Yuya smiled, as if I didn't understand.
"Are you sure?" I asked him.
"Of course!" he pushed it further towards me and I grasped it, relieved to have it back.
"With that, you're trying to change yourself into a different Yuzu from up until now. Now, it's my turn!" Yuya said. "Thanks to you, I got a hint on how to do it! Next time, I'll grasp what lies beyond Pendulum summoning with my own two hands!" His face lit up, with his usual child-like happiness.
And, I swear, that Yuya's happiness is infectious. I couldn't help smiling back.
And for a split second, I felt really warm inside, realising that I had hardly seen Yuya properly for absolutely ages-
"My fated person!" the squeal echoed off the sides of the walls as Yuya's former opponent crashed into him, dragging him to the floor.
…
…
…
Who is she?
My vision was suddenly encased with the red aura of rage.
"I knew you were my fated person!" she cheered, choking Yuya. "You made my heart go all pitter-patter just now!" she pinned him to the ground hugging him tightly.
"Hold on… 'Fated person'? What is the meaning of this?" I hissed, glaring down at the spectacle on the floor. I pulled out my beloved fan, realising that I also hadn't seen it properly for quite a while.
I could barely hear Yuya's protests over this girls gushing words but I tried to keep myself calm. One light smack would probably knock him back to his senses-
"Oh, darling, there is no need to be shy!" the shorter girl laughed.
Wait, wait. I'm sorry?
Darling!?
"Yuuuuuuuya…" I raged, feeling the atmosphere around me change dramatically due to my mood, causing the younger kids to back off. "Who is that girl to you!?"
Yuya was already off and running, slowed down by the baggage strangling him by the neck, which was apparently a hug.
"Come back here, now!" I screamed.
And it was pretty safe to say I gave Yuya a battering that he wouldn't forget for quite some time.

What is the best ship in the five Yu-Gi-Oh!s?
(Don't slag off other ships, it upsets others, causes wars and i'll be in the middle of it all!)
