A/N sorry for such a long delay the second semester hit me harder than I expected, as well as my finals.
CHAPTER 31 Inner Battles
Naruto and the rest of the Jinchuriki all loaded off of the ship that had brought them to an island on the back of a giant turtle.
"Ah we here, no need to fear." Killer Bee began "We gonna get you caught up and shape up." He rapped
"Alright enough we had to listen to your raping the entire time on the ship." Naruto cut in "Let's just get on with the training already."
"Very well follow to pond, and face yourself to understand yourself, so you can…" Bee began
"Enough!" Naruto nearly yelled "Just lead on." As Bee just nodded and he walked down the path leading into the island. After little while they came to a water fall with a pool at its base and a small bit of land in the center "so what do we do?"
"You must meditate so that you can resonate." Bee rapped
"But who will go first?" Fuu asked
"The nine because he is so divine, and strongest to the finest." Bee rapped
"All I got out of that was I'm up first." Naruto replied as everyone else had a confused look on their faces as well, and they all nodded. Naruto then jumped over to the small island in the pool and began to meditate.
Naruto soon opened his eyes to find himself alone at the pond as he stood up and looked around. Just then he looked to the water fall and saw a black eyed version of himself.
"So then guessing I need you to move along to the next stage of training?" Naruto asked
"Oh nothing gets by you." Dark Naruto said
"Well I'm guessing you're supposed to be some deep dark part of myself that I buried long ago, that was long forgotten?" Naruto asked
"Wow two for two." Dark Naruto said with a clap. "But only half points on that last one, I've began festering somewhat recently."
"Oh how so?" Naruto asked
"Well you'll just have to beat it out of me." Dark Naruto said as he pulled out his long swords and charged Naruto clashing swords.
"Well my favorite way of getting information out of someone." Naruto smirked
"I know." Dark Naruto smirked
The pair dueled for a long time destroying all their weapons leaving them with only their fists.
"You won't beat me I never give up on a fight." Naruto said
"Ha don't give me that." Dark Naruto spat "you gave up on killing that bitch for selling you out."
"What?" Naruto growled
"I'm saying that once I beat you and take over I'm going to hunt her down and disembowel her." Dark Naruto said
"I'll never let you lay a hand on her." Naruto said
"Oh but you will, every time you touch her it is my hand being put on." Dark Naruto said with a grin. "Because I am you, you may have buried it but deep down I am you and that fear you have she will hurt you once again."
"Shut up!" Naruto yelled as he lunged forward punching his dark self in the face.
"No matter what you do I'll always be there. In the back of your mind asking if it is truly real." Dark Naruto laughed.
"Then stay there." Naruto said looking at his dark half who got a look of confusion on his face. "You may be a part of me that is always asking if it is the right decision, no matter what I do you'll always be there a part of me who never believes what is put in front of him. I know I have to accept that is a part of me but that doesn't mean I will let you hurt the person I love. She loves me and I love her, I will accept what ever changes may come my way but I will never let the fears you are made of harm her." Naruto said as his darker self began to fade.
"What are you doing she will betray you." Dark Naruto said "like she did before."
"No she won't, and even if she does so be it I won't let the fear of that hold me back from something we can have together." Naruto replied
"And what is that?" Dark Naruto spat
"A life of companionship and love and this fear that you are made up is only holding me back from that happiniess." Naruto said with a sigh as the dark version of him faded and he opend his eyes to see he was sitting back at the pond on the small island, staring at the water fall. He stood up and looked back to see Killer Bee standing there with crossed arms nodding his head. Naruto stood up and jumped to him
"Way to go you battled you demons in record time for my new rhymes." Bee rapped
"How long was I out for?" Naruto asked as he felt his stomach let out an ache and a growl
"Three days, you been in the fray." Bee replied
"No wonder I'm so hungry." Naruto replied
"Go to the cabin and rest up, the best up for the next stage is a whole new page." Bee replied as Naruto just shook his head and walked up the path Bee had pointed down.
Naruto sat at the table eating some breakfast when Kuza walked out of the room he was staying in, and stretched.
"Morning." Kuza yawned "Feels so good to wake up and not be nagged by those damn vixens."
"Oh don't give me that I heard you whimpering her name last night." Naruto teased
"I most certainly was not." Kuza shot back defensively
"Oh you miss her don't deny it." Naruto teased
"I absolutely will." Kuza shot back "Unlike you I ain't whipped."
"How is it whipped when I have a vixen that truly cares about me and loves me." Naruto replied "However that could spice things up a bit." He said putting his hand to his chin.
"Don't even get started on that." Kuza said with a shiver as he grabbed some bacon with his tail and walked out of the room.
"Oh she is already dug in under your skin." Naruto called to his friend "You won't be able to get her out no matter how hard you try." He laughed
"Then I'll have to cut out the meat then." Kuza shot back from the other room
"ACHOO!" Kira sneezed
"You coming down with something? Cause we have a lot of work to do before this war starts and I can't have you slacking on your medical training if you are going to assist me." Sakura said as they walked the halls of the Leaf hospital
"No no just a sneeze" Kira waved it off
"Oh or maybe some dark little fox was talking about you." Sakura said with a grin getting her partner to get all flustered
"What no of course not, why would you even think that was the reason?" Kira said as Sakura walked past her.
"Oh because you two are to much like me and Naruto who were to stubborn to see what was right in front of us." Sakura said getting Kira to lower her head a bit "It is kinda early maybe he was thinking about something naughty before he got up." She added with a grin as Kira went beat red.
"Why would you even think of something like that." Kira demanded as she chased after her.
Naruto now walked into a large empty chamber.
"So what now?" Naruto asked
"Now you have faced your inner demons you now face the sealed demon." Bee failed to find a rhyme and stopped too try to think of one.
"Just stop I get it I have to face Kurama." Naruto said
"Yeah ya fool, who ever wins get to ride on the outside." Bee replied
"What?" Naruto asked but before Bee could respond
"I think he means which ever one of us wins gets the body." Kurama replied
"Yes." Came the voice of the eight tails. "That is how it goes, just meditate enter your mind scape and whoever comes out on top wins, full control"
"Well guessing you won't make this easy." Naruto sighed as he sat down and began to meditate
"Where is the fun in that." Kurama said
Naruto soon found himself in front of the fox's gate "Well ready to do this?" Naruto asked as he reached up and grabbed the seal on the Fox's cage.
"For far too long." Kurama said with a grin as the seal was broken and he thrust his front claw out the gate, and tried to smash Naruto with it.
"Oh right off the bat then." Naruto grinned as he made a bunch of shadow clones and they all punched straight up into the Fox's gut sending him tumbling to the side. The Fox began to stand but something wrapped around his neck and he looked to see the massive number of clones pulling on the chains wrapped around his neck as it tossed him across their battlefield.
"Oh you think it will be this easy to claim my strength?" Kurama said as he began to build up a bijuu dama and then launched it at Naruto who whipped through some hand signs and chins burst form his back and wrapped around the massive black orb, and absorbed into the chains as they retracted back into Naruto who vanished and appeared above Kurama holding the massivebomb slamming it into his back flattening him. Naruto jumped and landed in front of him.
"Nice job redirecting my own attack back at me." Kurama smirked as he began to get back up "But I won't be beaten that easily." But before he could get up chains burst out from the ground wrapping around his neck, legs, and tails pinning him to the ground. "What?!" he called out in shock
"Time to finish this." Naruto said as he jumped up to the Fox's face and began to draw out the chakra, and draw it into himself. "Wow this is very pungent." Naruto said as he felt the hate and malice of the chakra flow into him.
"Well don't let it over whelm you or it will win and so will I." Kurama smirked as he saw Naruto's eyes flash from their normal blue to black and he fell to the ground holding his head.
"No you can't, I won't let you." Naruto began to scream as images of Sakura's dead body flashed across his vision
"Yes watch her die." Naruto said in his dark forms voice "Watch her pay for what she did to us."
"No she is doesn't owe us anything." Naruto said
"Yes she does for all the pain she has caused us, for…" dark Naruto started but the images stopped and the image of Sakura reaching out to him, calling to him replaced them. "What is this?!" dark Naruto demanded
"The truth that took me so long to see." Naruto replied as he reached out for her hand
"I love you." Sakura said as he grabbed her hand and he fully absorbed the Foxes chakra and the gates of the door closed and sealed themselves once more.
Naruto opened his eyes to see he was once again in the training chamber with Bee and Kuza sitting next to him.
"You finish the fray with the beast at least?" Bee asked as Naruto stood up and was cloaked in orange chakra and black lines running across his body.
"What do you think?" Naruto asked with a smirk
"This is only the first form of our combined power." Kurama said
"Really?" Naruto asked
"Yes once we train more we will be able to further it to the next levels." Kurama said
"Alright now go hit the beat and retreat, so the others can take a seat." Killer Bee said getting a confused look from Naruto
"He says to go take a rest so the other two can train, and face their beasts." The Eight tails translates.
"Oh ok." Naruto said as he walked out of the temple like building, and back to the cabin to get some rest.
Sakura woke up in the bed at the Namikaze compound, she stared at the empty side of the bed Naruto would normally be laying in.
"You know staring at his spot won't make him come home any faster." Came Kushina's voice from the hallway.
"Yeah I know, it's just this is the longest we have been apart since we have been mated." Sakura sighed.
"Well breakfast is almost done." Kushina said as Sakura got out of bed and walked over to her. "What about her?" She asked pointing at the white fox who was tossing and turning in her sleep moaning about a missing fox under her breath.
"Naw let her keep dreaming about the one she wants." Sakura said as she walked down the hall toward the kitchen followed by Kushina.
"Here." Kushina said as Sakura sat down at the table as Kushina set a plate of eggs and bacon in front of her. "Coffee?"
"Yes please." Sakura replied as Kushina handed her a cup and sat down.
"I'm sorry but am I the only one who thinks this is a bit weird?" Kushina sighed
"What do you mean?" Sakura asked
"You're pretty much my daughter in-law but we seem so close in age." Kushina said
"Well yeah at first." Sakua sighed "but after being around Naruto long enough weird has actually become pretty normal. But yeah I guess most people would see it as weird."
"Yeah I guess." Kushina sighed "so you guys heading out soon?"
"Yeah three days." Sakura replied
"Oh ok." Kushina said sipping her coffee.
"Ah. We will be heading out at zero nine. Out the west entrance." Sakura sighed
"Oh why you telling me so much." Kushina said looking around a bit confused
"Because you two are planning on coming along." Sakura replied
"What no we aren't supposed to go outside or be seen." Kushina said looking around flustered not making eye contact.
"So you found us out huh." Came Minato's voice from the hall as he walked in
"Well Naruto can never back down from a fight so he must get it from somewhere." Sakura replied
"Well she has got us there." Minato said as he made a plate and sat down.
"Well do you really expect us to just stand around when our son is being targeted by some crazy gang of hooligans." Kushina shot back
"Well we will all fight for the person we love." Sakura said with a smile "isn't that right Kira." She called over to the tired fox who walked into the kitchen.
"Huh what?" Kira said groggily "sorry I didn't sleep well last night. I haven't been in awhile." She yawned
"Maybe cause you're missing something to sleep with." Sakura smirked "like a little black ball of fur?"
"What?" Kira stumbled "I doubt I would something like that would help me sleep."
"Even when you're dreaming about it?" Kushina jumps in.
"I have no idea what you're talking about." Kira said "and I don't like being ganged up on by all of you." She says as she turns around to leave.
"Hey I'm not picking on you. I don't even know what is going on." Minato claimed innocence
"Oh calm down Kira." Sakura said with a grin "We are just giving you a hard time. But you need to be more honest with yourself, I was the same way with Naruto before I finally admitted it to him."
"And how did he react when you admitted it?" Kira asked "Not that I feel that way about Kuza, I'm just curious."
"When did we ever say, we were talking about Kuza?" Sakura grinned getting the white fox to begin to fluster "Calm down I'm just teasing, but when I told Naruto how I felt he ran away, used the flying thunder god."
"What?!" Kushina asked beginning to get angry,
"Calm down he came back, and admitted he felt the same way." Sakura replied
"Well what if… well." Kira began but didn't want to fully admit anything.
"Oh we can all see it you just don't want to admit it like I did, if you admit it then it will be easier to accept it." Sakura said
"Fine I think… I I lo… like Kuza." Kira said "But what if he doesn't like me?"
"Well him and Naruto are a lot alike and he is acting the same way Naruto did before he admitted how he felt about me." Sakura said getting a look of hope from the white fox "So just relax, I'm not telling you to go and tell him right this moment, but if you don't do it eventually you may regret it."
"Alright I'll look for the right time." Kira sighed
"Good now let's get moving we need to be at the hospital in twenty minutes." Sakura said as she stood up and walked towards the door.
"ACHOO!" Kuza sneezed
"Oh maybe a little white vixen is talking about you?" Naruto called over from where he was training, coated in orange chakra with a chakra cloak.
"Cursing my name most likely." Kuza sighed as he laid his head back down to his nap
"Oh I wouldn't jump to that conclusion so quickly." Naruto replied
"Oh really now?" Kuza replied
"Just saying when you assume you make an 'ass' out of 'u' and 'me'" Naruto replied
"No you just make an ass out of yourself." Kuza shot back
"But you can do it just as good as me." Naruto said with a smile
"Yeah sure what ever." Kuza sighed
"You should be more honest with yourself." Naruto replied as he wen through some more.
"Little hypocritical." Kuza replied
"I'm just trying to help you see it like you did with me." Naruto replied "and so you don't mess it up like it almost did."
"Wait I didn't hear this story?" Kuza replied
"Well…" Naruto began when a cloud ninja walked into the temple.
"Hey we just got word from the alliance they are on the move." The cloud ninja said "We will be heading out tonight to meet up with them in three days, at the battlefield."
"Alright let's go kick this guy's ass." Naruto said as he dropped the chakra that was surrounding him, and began to walk out of the temple.
"Hey get back here and tell me what you were talking about." Kuza said chasing after him.
After three days Naruto along with the remaining Jinchuriki stood over looking at the camp of the allied ninja.
"And so it begins." Naruto sighed as him the Jinchuriki jumped to the camp.
