Cat: Yeah, it's late. Sorry.

Rena: Please review! Will be getting Episode 34 up ASAP! Should be up... Friday night? :/

Cat: Anyway, please follow, favourite and review, if this is worthy! But most of all! ENJOY!

Rena: This story is in Yuzu's POV. Please give me some artistic licence. If i put some stuff that isn't in the anime in here, don't flame. There would be no point in reading, if it was just the anime in words.

Cat: THANK YOU ALL FOR 200 REVIEWS!

Chapter 33- City of the Future!

The feeling of the muscles in my body relaxing in the chair was so calming I sighed loudly and leaned my head back. I knew I had been tense during Yuya's match but I hadn't realised how tight my back was until waves of relief washed over me. Everyone else around me leaned back too, finally able to draw breaths. But our relief was short lived.

"Next is our third match of the day!" Nico announced over the intercom. "You Show Duel School's Shiunin Sora vs. Leo Duel School's Kurosaki Shun!"

I shifted so that I was sitting, back straight against the seat. I had a feeling I wasn't going to be relaxed for long. But I wasn't really relaxed anyway now. Remembering that Sh-Kurosaki was here made my stomach churn.

Sora was already down on the arena, waving to the crowd, who were screaming in approval, all of them still hyped from Yuya and Sawatari's match. "I'll satisfy the crowd just like Yuya!" Sora called over to us. I cheered loudly from my sitting position as Yuya stood up (having taken Sora's seat) and yelled down to him.

Then, Yuya abruptly stopped yelling. "Kurosaki Shun…" he muttered. I peered slightly to the right, seeing further past Yuya's figure and saw the said duellist. It made absolutely no sense that he was here. Especially for LDS! He hated them, didn't he? I thought he was after his sister, Ruri! Not competing in tournaments!

"Masumi said he was always a member of LDS…" I frowned, voicing another of my many concerns. "But Kurosaki is responsible for the serial attacks on the LDS members. Masumi knew that and tried to challenge him to a duel once but… When I followed her, she had vanished…"

I shook my head, remembering seeing her at the opening ceremony and asking her about Kurosaki. "What has happened to Masumi? It was like her memories were re-written!"

"That's right… He fought LDS in front of my very eyes…" Yuya nodded. "And that extremely powerful XYZ monster… It hit us with real shockwaves!"

"Sora!" Yuya yelled over the barrier, after a few seconds of thought. "Don't let your guard down!"

"Don't worry! I'll be fine!" Sora smiled and waved, leaving us wondering if he had heard a word Yuya had said.

Yuya sighed, and I grabbed his arm and gently pulled him back into his seat, where he landed exasperatedly with a dull thud. Yoko passed us both a bottle of water, which we both glugged down. My throat was as dry as a desert but the water didn't seem to be helping.

Then, the field magic was played. City of the Future: Heartland. Sora and Kurosaki were now standing in what appeared to be a sci-fi city at night, lit up by the glow of the buildings. It was absolutely beautiful, actually. Futuristic houses, a river, elevated roads. It was like it was out of a dream or a movie.

Sora gazed around the field and at the spectators he could barely see in through the holograms. "Hmmm… I would be more excited if it was a world made of sweets…"

"That Sora…" Yuya sighed. "Never impressed unless sweets are somewhere…"

"Yuya… Look at Kurosaki…" I hissed, pulling on Yuya's short sleeve. He glanced away from Sora (who was also now staring at Kurosaki) to see the look on his face. It was twisted into a mask of… Rage? Hatred? Loathing? I couldn't tell. But he was definitely not happy about something.

"If you really are a true Fusion Summoner…" Kurosaki spat. "I will show no mercy!"

Suddenly I was catapulted back to my conversation with Yuto. He had called Fusion the 'enemy's summoning technique' or something. Sora was probably the worst opponent for Shun to be up against right now!

"You're interesting, aren't you?" Sora smirked, as he activated his disk, then turned to the audience. "Hey everyone! My entertainment duel is about to begin! Please cheer for me like you cheered for Yuya!"

The crowd went wild, even though nobody knew who Sora was, just that he was from the same school as Yuya. They were in for a disappointment if they were expecting more Pendulum Summoning's. But, hey, it was Sora! His Fusions would probably make them completely forget about the new form of summoning for a while.

"We'll cheer as hard as we can!" my dad screamed down, nearly bursting my ear drums.

"If you win, you'll get all the pancakes you can eat!" Yoko cheered down to the blue-haired boy. Yuya pouted at her words.

"Mum! Why don't I get pancakes?! I beat Sawatari!" he whined.

"Well, it's in your blood! We all knew you were going to win. Besides, Sora eats a lot more pancakes than you!" she smiled.

Yuya huffed. "No, that's because you always take them away from me and give to him before I can start eating!"

"Go, go, Sora!" Ayu, Futoshi and Tatsuya jumped in their seats, making mine vibrate slightly.

Sora nodded, finally feeling like he had enough of the crowd backing him to begin. "I'll go first! I summon from my hand a very cute bear monster! Furnimal Bear!" The soft, fluffy bear landed beside Sora. "I have cuter monsters coming up!"

"When there is a Furnimal Bear on my field, I can special summon these monsters from my hand! Two cute sheep that'll make you squeal! I double Special Summon two Furnimal Sheep!" Sora smiled. Sometimes I wondered if Sora's choice in deck was on purpose. Did he do it to make his opponents think he was a pushover? Did he do it to enthuse the crowd? Or did he just do it because he loved cute things?

Kurosaki did not look impressed.

"I set one card and end my turn," Sora smiled. "Now it's your turn! Let's give the audience a good show!"

"A good show?" Kurosaki asked quietly. "Once, duelling was the greatest show in my homeland as well… The greatest… Whether they were adults or children, everyone enjoyed it without a care. It was a town where duellists were adored by the public…"

"Jeez, if he's going to go on about this, then he should have stayed there!" Yuya sighed, sinking down in his seat, the adrenaline he had acquired from his duel needing to be released. Just watching Kurosaki and Sora talking wasn't the best.

It then hit me that Kurosaki probably wanted to get home. The place he was talking about sounded like an incredible place. He was probably desperate to find his sister, then get back-

"…Until that day." Kurosaki spat, stopping me dead in my line of thought.

"On that day, the enemy attacked us without warning and turned our town into a battleground!" Kurosaki snarled, making me realise that he had lost much more than just his sister.

"Enemy? Battlefield?" Sora asked, looking confused. "What're you going on about?"

Yuya was out of his seat again and stood by the barrier, staring down. Gongenzaka muttered something.

"That's right! Back then he… He said that 'this was his battlefield!'" The other two stared at me.

"Battlefield?" Yuya demanded.

"He suddenly appeared in front of me and Masumi…" I muttered.

"My turn," Kurosaki snapped, cutting Sora short of a rant he was having that I wasn't listening to. "We were thrown into disarray by the sudden assaults. Just mounting a defence took everything we had!"

Did Kurosaki realise that everything he was saying was being amplified to the whole (bamboozled) crowd? "Are you even trying?" Sora pouted.

"I summon Raid Raptors- Vanishing Lanius from my hand!"

"It's that monster from back then!" Yuya cried, as a mechanical phoenix-like bird appeared by Shun's side. It wasn't cute like Sora's monsters and looked far more formidable.

"Battle," Kurosaki whispered. "I attack Furnimal Bear with Vanishing Lanius!" Sora's life points dropped by 100 points and Furnimal Bear vanished, but Sora didn't seem bothered by it.

"Trap card open!" Sora announced, smirking. "Furnimal Crane! This card returns a Furnimal Monster that was destroyed by battle back to my hand! And then I get to draw one card! You gotta react like this, got it?"

Kurosaki was by no means taking Sora up on his offer to have a fun duel. Now, all duels in his eyes were duels to win. He had to, I guess. He wanted to save Ruri.

"Because a Raid Raptors monster declared an attack this turn I can activate the spell card: Raid Raptors- Symbol," Kurosaki droned in his monotonous voice. "I can add one Raid Raptors monster from my deck to my hand."

"I add Raid Raptors Vanishing Lanius!" he pulled the same card out of his deck that he already had on the field. "And due to the previous summoned Vanishing Lanius' monster effect, I can special summon another Vanishing Lanius this turn! I summon it in defence position!"

Another robot bird appeared and flanked Kurosaki on his other side, making it look like he had his own personal body guard of green metal chickens, while Sora was flanked by two fluffy sheep.

"Well, it's great that you were able to respond so quickly, but there's no point in hiding behind those two monsters you know?" Sora said.

Kurosaki didn't respond to Sora's comment. "I set one card face down and end my turn."

"Let's go! Draw!" Sora announced. "I summon Edge-Imp Scissors from my hand! When this card is normal summoned, I can return one Furnimal Bear on my field to my hand, then I can special summon a new Furnimal animal from my hand!"

The Scissor-like monster that Sora had just summoned began clipping away at one of the sheep's wool, making it fall off in clumps, then it changed and became Furnimal Bear. "But when my sheep returns to my hand, I get to add a certain card from my deck to my hand because of his effect! That card is the spell card: Fusion!"

There it was. Sora's favourite and Shun's least favourite card.

"Ladies and Gentlemen!" Sora cried, lifting one arm up into the sky.

"That guy…" Yuya laughed quietly.

"He really does like you, Yuya," Yoko smiled. "It's like you're his big brother, or something!"

"What you're about to witness is a real, fully-fledged fusion summon!" Sora cheered. "Now let's go! I fuse Edge Imp Scissors with Furnimal Bear! Fusion summon! Come forth, horrifying beast that shreds all! Des-Toy Scissor Bear!"

Finally, Sora's ace Fusion monster was out, 2200 attack points and all, looking as creepy as ever.

"What School!? You Show Duel School!" my dad began cheering, looking at us hopefully. Yuya and I stared back at him.

"Prez… We are not doing that chant," Yuya sighed and I nodded.

"Battle!" Sora announced. "I attack Vanishing Lanius with Des-Toy Scissor Bear!" I was expecting Kurosaki to counter but his monster was destroyed and his life points dwindled to 3100. Sora was now in the lead by 800 points. Not an immense amount, but it was something.

"Don't forget, Des-Toy Bear has the ability to equip monsters it's destroyed in battle!" Sora giggled, as the Bear's attack points rose to 3500.

"Trap activate! Raid Raptors- Retun!" Kurosaki declared. "This card returns one Raid Raptors monster that was destroyed in battle to my hand!"

Sora gasped as his bears attack points dropped back to 2200 and Kurosaki placed the card back into his hand.

"It got taken back…" Ayu whispered.

"To think he had something like that ready…" Tatsuya groaned.

"Well," Sora said resiliently. "If you didn't do this much it would be no fun! I set one card face down! Turn end!"

"You said you would show no mercy, but you better start trying now…" Sora baited Kurosaki, while pulling out a lollipop. Sora was back to his usual mind games. I wondered how they would work on the 'LDS student'. "Or could it be your too busy defending yourself to fight back?"

"At first that was the case," Kurosaki replied. "We could hardly manage to defend ourselves against such an overwhelming foe. But we didn't even have an organised resistance. Pushed to our wits end, we began losing comrades one by one…"

"In those hopeless battles we learned the only way to survive… is to win! Only those who bored a steeled will to win would live through that hell!"

Sora frowned.

"I summon Vanishing Lanius from my hand!" Kurosaki announced. "Once this card is successfully summoned, I can special summon another Vanishing Lanius from my hand!"

"He has three Vanishing Lanius'!?" Sora cried.

"This is… Just like that time…" Yuya gasped.

"I Overlay the three level 4 Vanishing Lanius'! XYZ summon! Appear now! Rank 4! Raid Raptors Rise Falcon!"

It was a huge monster which towered over everything else on the field. I was expecting a humongous amount of attack points but I was startled to see that this monster only had 100 attack points. Why go to such lengths to summon it?

"That man was an XYZ user!?" Gongenzaka demanded.

"There's no doubt about it!" Yuya cried. "The same monster took out an entire LDS top team back then!"

"But how did he do it with a monster with only 100 attack points?" I asked Yuya, as the robotic bird took to the skies, flying over all the spectators.

"So this is you getting serious?" Sora asked. "You've got to be kidding me!"

Be careful, Sora.

"This monster can attack all Special Summoned monsters on the field!" Kurosaki told Sora.

"Even if you could attack all of my monsters with just 100 attack points…" Sora smirked, not taking him seriously.

"Be careful Sora!" Yuya hollered down into the arena, causing the boy to glance up. "He's dangerous!"

"Don't worry, I'll be fine!" Sora waved back, a big smile on his face, probably not registering a word Yuya said.

"I activate Rise Falcon's effect!" Kurosaki declared. "By using one Overlay unit, it gains attack equal to the total attack points of all of my opponent's special summoned monsters!"

Sora had two monsters on the field. Des-Toy Scissor Bear and one of his sheep. They had both been special summoned. The Bear had 2200 attack points and the sheep had 400. Rise Falcon's attack rose by 2600 points.

"An attack of 2700!?" Sora shrieked, now realising the threat the monster actually was.

"Battle! Raid Raptors- Rise Falcon! Brave Claw Revolution!" Kurosaki hissed. The attack collided with both monsters and destroyed them both. Sora screamed as he flew backwards and landed with a thud on the pavement.

"I set two cards and end my turn." Kurosaki said, remorselessly. "At this time, Rise Falcon's attack points return to normal."

"Now you've done something pretty interesting!" Sora smirked. "I guess that means, go all out for a bit against you."

I had never seen an expression on Sora's face like the smile that was plastered on his face at that moment. It wasn't his usual happy-go-lucky smile. It was the complete opposite.

Sora's smile looked almost evil.

Cat: Urgh, not the most exciting episode but 34 looks awesome!

Rena: I always knew there was something more to Sora... But i loved him! He was so cute!

Cat: Anyway, today's question!

Did you predict Sora becoming a psycho?

P.s Have you guy's noticed that the Subbed episodes are beginning to call the monsters by the names they'll be called in the dub!? It is so annoying! It is not Preformapal! It is Entermate! I mean jeez!

Your views? Sorry, i was in a really bad mood with this episode! Every single one of Sora's monsters name was wrong!

That might just be the server i'm watching though... :P

Thanks everyone, you guys are my life xx
