Chapter 14: Birthday

~Time Skip Of You'll Find Out~

It was a nice, fine day in the Hatter territory. The weather- for a fall Territory- was nice, and calm, the window cool and the sun hot. The Sun shone brightly, and the sky was so blue-

"BLOOD! WHERE ARE YOU!?" Alice yelled, running out to check if he had placed anything outside. She sighed, and slowly walked back in, bititng the pen she had in one hand, and staring at the list in the other hand.

"Mommy, Mommy, Father is out with Aunty." A small delicate sounding voice said. Alice smiled down at Ebony. "Is he?" The little five year old girl, nodded, her perfectly styled curls bobbing up and down. She wore a dark pink sundress, with straps thick enough to be accepted by her father.

Yes, it had been five years since the last time Blood and Alice got into a big fight. Of course, most arguments now revolved around the kids- when they should be informed about the fact that they are children of the Mafia...

"No!" Alice yelled, glaring at Blood. Blood sighed. "I think that at the age of five, they should know what they're Dad works at." Blood said calmly. "Think about it Alice. If they don't know, they'll be walking around Wonderland clueless. Alice sighed. "I guess so..."

Or when they found out what was going on with the Twins and Alice's heart...

"Well, Mrs. Dupre, the children and you seem to have something similar." The Doctor said, staring at the family. Alice's eyes widened. "What?" Blood said, holding Alice's hand and Ebony. Phoenix was cuddling close to his mom.

The Doctor smiled. "It's nothing bad Mr. Dupre. It just seems that Alice and the children both have similar hearts. Part clock, part Outsider heart." The Doctor said. The couple stared at the kids in wonder. "It's a really fascinating thing. And, of course, it's never happened before in Wonderland." The Doctor rambled on and on.

"So, this means they'll live like most of us?" Blood asked. The Doctor nodded. "We assume that. Nothing bad, but we also assume that the hearts take traits from her mother's heart." The couple nodded.

It wasn't exactly bad news. Just, confusing.

Or that first time throwing a birthday party, when Blood had to reluctantly relent to inviting as many people as Alice wanted- which were the same people now.

ANYWAYS, back to the current situation Alice was in.

"Mom, Mom, Dad said he'd be back soon." Another voice came from behind Alice, and Ebony smiled, launching herself at her brother. Phoenix laughed, hugging her sister. Even at the age of five, he was already taller then his twin sister, who was about two inches shorter then him. His blond hair was one of the few physical traits that he and his auburn haired sister shared.

"Brother! Mommy said that we get to see Boris and Gray today!" Ebony said, twirling around in her dress. Phoenix glanced at his sister and smiled. "Cool." He turned to look at his mom. "Mom, can I play with Dee and Dum?" Alice smiled. "As long as they're not using any weapons." He smiled. "Thanks!"

Ebony stared at her mom for a minute and smiled. "Mommy, do you need any help?" Alice smiled, and patted her daughters head. "Yes. Could you go inside and ask Elliot to go to the gates and bring the Role-Holders here? I think I saw Vivaldi." Ebony nodded, a huge smile on her face. "Yay! I'm helping Mommy!" Ebony yelled, as she ran to find Elliot.

"Elliot, Elliot!" Ebony yelled, running through the halls. She was looking from side to side, and didn't see where she was going. So it was only natural that she bumped into someone.

Ebony say there, rubbing her head. "Ebony. What did I tell you about running in the halls? You'll get hurt." A stern voice said. Ebony raised her tear filled blue eyes. "I'm sorry Father." Ebony said, slowly standing up. Blood looked at her and sighed. "What were you doing, running in the halls?"

Ebony looked down at her feet. "Mo-Mommy sent me to look for Elliot, S-sir." Blood nodded. "Go back and tell her that I already sent Elliot to greet the other role holders." Ebony nodded, and quickly ran back to her mother.

"Mommy, Father said that he already sent Elli-" Ebony started when she felt someone pick her up and swing her around. Ebony giggled. "Aunty!" Ebony giggled, knowing it was Vivaldi from the strong scent of roses.

"Oh, your're so cute! We want to take you home with us!" Vivaldi yelled. "Your Majesty, you'd kill the child." Peter said, popping up from nowhere. Vivaldi glared at him. "Where is the Knight we put you in charge of?" Ebony watched the exchange silently. "Brother!" She yelled, when she saw Phoenix walk in to the outside- where the party was being held. He was followed by those at the Clock Tower and the Amusement Park.

Soon, time flew, cake was given, Phoenix and Ebony covered in cake they had both thrown at each other, gifts were given and guests wished them a good year. But time came quickly, and soon, only the Dupre family and Vivaldi were left.

"You two, come here." Blood said. Phoenix ran to his dad, who picked him up and set him on his lap. Ebony came slowly, glancing at her brother who sat so naturally with her Father. She went and sat on the floor, between Vivaldi and Alice.

"Listen, you two know what the Mafia is?" Alice asked. Phoenix nodded quickly, while Ebony slowly nodded. "Children, you're Dad is the boss of the Mafia." Vivaldi said. Phoenix shouted, "That's so cool!" Ebony's eyes widened. "Oh..." She said.

Soon, even Vivaldi had left. Alice was tucking in both in, when Blood came in. "Here." He said to Ebony, who stared at it with wide eyes. Cautiously, she opened it and stared at it with wide eyes. "For when you're older." Blood said, and walked out. "Daddy, thanks!" Ebony yelled, holding on to the beautifully decorated dagger that Blood had given her. Blood turned around and smiled. "No problem Sweetie." Blood gave Phoenix a gun, with the same intricate designs.

Alice and Blood cuddled in bed, doing nothing.

"I can't believe they've grown." Blood said.

Alice smiled. "Kids grow fast."
