Cat: So, i'm sure you missed me terribly...!
Rena: Sure they did.
Cat: Yeah... Anyway, please review! Aiming for 300 reviews now! Favourites and Follows also help! Thank you so much to every one who has followed/favourited or both and to everyone who reviews per chapter! I love you all!
But, please enjoy! That's the whole point!
Rena: This story is in Yuzu's POV. Please give me some artistic licence. If i put some stuff that isn't in the anime in here, don't flame. There would be no point in reading, if it was just the anime in words!
Chapter 43- The Magnificent Exchange Student
I shivered as Olga made her move. All four of us were completely stationary and there was no need for running. Even so, Gongenzaka wouldn't run anyway. I was going to have to run for all the Action Cards, if we needed them (which he assured me we didn't and I reminded him that I had 800 life points). Halil's life points were still intact. Olga had 2600 life points. I had the least by far, making me an obvious target.
"I'll take both of you down myself!" she announced. "I tune my level 4 Arctic Beast Blizzard Wolf and my level 3 Artic Beast Polar Penguin! Synchro Summon! Level 7, Artic Beast Iceberg Narwhal!"
"Well, she's obviously right at home with this Action Field…" I muttered to Gongenzaka, who nodded slowly.
"I attack Yuzu directly with Iceberg Narwhal!"
I froze, staring at the narwhal (which didn't look like a narwhal at all!) shot towards me. "Action magic! Blind Blizzard! It ends the battle phase!" I winced as an ever colder wind struck up, bringing in slushy cold snow.
"I activate Iceberg Narwhal's effect!" Olga announced. "I can negate and destroy any spell or trap played while this card is attacking!"
Not goo-! I bit back a shriek as the horn of the monster shot straight through my card and got closer and closer to my face. Everything slowed, as I felt my stomach drop and my mouth open in terror.
"I activate Super Samurai Burner's effect!" Gongenzaka shouted. "When an opponent's monster attacks, I can change the attack target to this monster!"
I screwed my eyes shut and yelped as the monster flew over me, just in time and collided with Gongenzaka's monster. "Once per turn, Super Samurai Burner cannot be destroyed in battle!" said Gongenzaka.
"But you'll still take the damage!" Olga grinned, as the attack shot through the monster and sent him skidding backwards, his life dwindling to just 200 points.
"Gongenzaka!" I shouted, running over.
"I'm fine!" he replied. "Don't make a fuss!"
"Why did you take the hit for me!?"
"This is a team battle, don't worry about it!"
"Gongenzaka…"
I ran and stood back beside him, so our team wouldn't fall apart. Between us, we had 1000 life points. Olga and Halil had 6600. "My turn!" Gongenzaka called. "I summon Superheavy Samuari Glove! And by sending a Superheavy Samurai monster from my hand to my graveyard, I can special summon the level two tuner monster, Superheavy Samurai Trumpeter! I tune my level 1 Burner with my level 3 Glove and level 2 Trumpeter! Synchro Summon! Level 6! Superheavy Samurai Ogre Sutendoji! When Sutendoji is summoned and I have only monster cards in my Graveyard, I can destroy all of my opponent's spells and traps!"
"Oh no!" Halil wailed, as his Pendulum monsters were destroyed, along with his face down and the card which destroyed my attempt at Fusion earlier, which forced him to return my Pendulum card back to me.
"Yes!" I smiled, finally feel something going right for me in the duel. "I got my Pendulum card back!"
"And Red Devil's Pendulum effect ends, so Fire Jinn's attack goes back to normal..." Halil trailed off miserably.
"Sutendoji can attack while in defence position! Battle! I attack Fire Jinn!" Halil winced as his life dropped by 100 points, taking him down to 3900. It wasn't a lot. But it was a start.
"Well done as always, Gongenzaka!" I cheered, as he grinned in triumph. "You turned the tables in one move!"
"Oh, did he now?" Halil asked, causing us to turn. "When Fire Jinn is destroyed by battle, I can release another Lamp monster to destroy the monster it battled with! Then, my opponent is dealt 600 points of damage!"
"What!?" Gongenzaka demanded.
"I release Purple Lamp and activate Fire Jinn's effect!" Halil smiled.
"This is bad!" Gongenzaka shouted, just before he hit the floor, his life hitting 0.
"Gongenzaka!" I shrieked, as I began running over to him again, getting further and further away from the other two in an attempt to reach him.
"I activate Ice Narwhal's effect!" Olga shouted, as I had my back to her. I turned and stared in disbelief. "Once per turn, when an effect deals damage, I can deal the same amount of damage to my opponent!"
I barely had time to cover my face with my arms as shards of ice hit me in a gust of wind, taking my life down to 200.
"Yuzu…" Gongenzaka shook, bringing his legs up, trying to stand.
"Gongenzaka!" I said urgently.
"I've passed the baton to you!" he told me. "Use my Pendulum card! The rest is up to you!"
"I got it!" I smiled reassuringly, hoping he didn't see how desperate I felt. I was alone now. I couldn't defeat Halil by myself, let alone Halil and Olga.
"What a beautiful friendship!" Halil called. "I will learn from this! But Yuzu only has 200 life points left! It will be over when my turn comes!"
"Not yet!" I snapped, turning to face them. "I'll have you witness my show! My turn! Draw!"
I stared at my drawn card, my heart soaring. But I had something else to do first. "With my already set White Butterfly and the Scale 9 White Flower, I set the Pendulum Scale! With this, I can simultaneously summon monsters between the levels of 4 and 8!"
"Pendulum summon! Now you're on! Soprano the Melodious Songstress! And Mozarta the Melodious Maestra!" I announced, feeling joy bubble inside me. My first Pendulum summon. It worked. "If I use Soprano as Fusion Material, I do not need a Fusion spell card to perform a Fusion! I fuse Soprano and Mozarta! Fusion Summon! Bloom Diva the Melodious Muse!"
"I attack Iceberg Narwhal with Bloom Diva! Bloom Diva is not destroyed during battle with Special Summoned monsters," I explained, as Olga's mouth hung open over the fact I would attack her 2700 attack point strong monster with a monster with only 1000 attack points. "And it negates all the damage a player would take! The opponent is dealt the damage equal to the damage negated and the monster is destroyed!"
"But I still have some life points after that!" Olga argued.
"Then, I activate the Quick Play Spell: Pianissimo!" I continued. "I can reduce the attack of one monster to 100 until the end of the turn!"
"What!?" Olga screamed, as Bloom Diva's attack decreased more, meaning that, if Bloom Diva didn't have her effect, I would be dealt 2600 points of damage. But it wasn't going to me. It was going to her. Olga, with her 2600 life points.
"Now, the stage is ready! Bloom Diva! Sing with all your might! Reflect Shout!" I cried, watching as the synchro monster was destroyed and Olga was sent flying, just like Gongenzaka, her life hitting nothing.
"What a beautiful duel!" Halil complimented me. "I will learn from this!" I nodded slowly. Did he care that I just took out his opponent?
"Now, you're next!" I smiled.
"But Yuzu! You don't have any other monsters that can attack! This is the end!" he said with a chirp.
"No, I still can!" I shot back. "I play the Quick Spell: De-Fusion! I return a Fusion Monster to my extra deck and Special summon the two monsters used to summon it! I special summon the Soprano the Melodious Songstress and Mozarta the Melodious Maestra back to my field!"
"Battle! I attack directly with Soprano!" I said, as he was hit by the attack force, shouting words in English. "And finally, a direct attack with Mozarta!"
"I will learn from this!" Halil cried as he flew backwards and landed in a heap on the floor.
I let out a shuddering breath, feeling my whole body relax. I had won. I stood for a second, in shock. Then, I ran over to our opponents, who were still sprawled on the ice.
"Hey! Get up!" I shouted, grabbing Halil's arms and forcing him back on his feet. "You'll freeze! Especially in that outfit!"
"It's so hot!" he moaned, which made me sigh.
"Either way, you shouldn't lie on the ground," I said, running over to check Olga was ok. She was already standing, her arms in her pockets, obviously sulking.
"Take them," she said sourly.
"Huh?" I blinked.
She scoffed. "The Pendulum cards! Take them!" she thrust her arm out, giving me hers. Halil jumped up behind me and handed his over too.
"Umm… Thanks…" I said, pocketing them.
"Yeah, whatever," Olga said, walking off.
"Bye Bye!" Halil smiled, waving before running off at a speed I had deemed impossible for humans to run at.
I chuckled, waving back, before running over to Gongenzaka.
"Gongenzaka, here!" I held out his two Pendulum cards.
"You're the one who won," he said gruffly. "I can't accept that."
"But it was a Tag battle!" I whined, wanting him to take his cards.
"Then, I'll just take the one that I bet," he said, sighing. "There's still much left to do. Let's both do our best!"
"Yeah," I smiled.
"By the way, Yuzu," he said standing up.
"Yeah?"
"Aren't you a bit cold?" he asked, gesturing to my clothes.
I smiled pitifully, as my knees began to knock together again and I began to shiver. "Uh... Maybe?"
Cat: Yeah... Kinda short, sorry... Please review, anyway!
Rena: So, today's question!

P.S. I was supposed to say this last chapter, but i forgot. Yes, my maths is wrong in chapter 41. I said 16X2 was 42 and not 32. It was a typo! I'm not that stupid. But i'm not going back to replace that chapter just because of the stupid number! :P
