Cat: Yeah, i haven't posted in, like, a month. I am really sorry. I have my art exam and my guitar exam in the next two weeks and i have been drawing and practicing like mad, so i actually completely forgot. Amazing, but i really did.
Rena: So, biggest apologies! No idea when the next chapter will be up but hopefully after the 27th? ...I know, i'm sorry!
Cat: Please review, favourite and follow! No matter how long it takes, we will update! We will never abandon (in case you were worrying!)
We are really close to 300 reviews! :D Like, wow!
Rena: This story is in Yuzu's POV. Please give me some artistic licence. If i put some stuff that isn't in the anime in here, don't flame. There would be no point in reading, if it was just the anime in words!
Chapter 44- Shiunin Sora Attacks!
My first port of call was to get out of the artic quarter of the Action Field before I caught hypothermia. I ran forwards, seeing the glow of orange distantly. Perhaps it was some kind of tropical area, or something! I ran, slipping and sliding on the ice, wincing from all the bruises and scrapes I had received in my duel.
I strode up the stairs, two steps at a time, to see broken rocks and lava flowing everywhere. I moaned, already feeling myself break out into a sweat. I went from sub-zero temperatures to Sahara Desert in a few minutes! Was there a normal temperature area here?
I decided that I wanted to meet up with Yuya. I wanted to see how he was, if he had beaten anyone yet.
"Not here…" I sighed. Where on earth was-?!
"If you're looking for Yuya, he already went off to another area," a voice called sweetly. I had never heard his voice before, and my heart sank. It was another opponent. It had barely been ten minutes since my last match, I wanted time to think!
I followed the voice upwards. There, standing on a really tall stone was one of the Top 16. I had no idea who he was, but I remembered seeing him in the line and thinking that he looked a little… Different. He had reddish-ginger hair and wore an orange blazer and almost blended into the volcanic background.
"Hey," he said slyly.
"You're…?" I asked.
"I'm Dennis. An LDS Exchange Student and Yuya's friend," he winked.
"Friend?" Yuya had never mentioned becoming friends or even meeting a guy called Dennis. That means he has just seen him!
"Yep!" Then he jumped, vaulting right over my head and landed a few metres away. "Everyone who Duels can become friends!"
"You duelled with Yuya?" I said nervously.
He held a finger up in the air. "We beat Ryozanpaku in such an amazing combination, you wouldn't think it was our first time meeting!"
Then, he took a few strides towards me, causing me to walk backwards but stop because the massive stone was in my way. He placed his hand by my head, not touching me, but effectively pinning me to the rock.
"I want to duel you and become your friend as well, Hiragi Yuzu-san," he said politely, or as politely as he could while shoving someone up a wall.
"You know about me?" I asked quietly.
"You're the daughter of the Principal of You Show Duel School, right?"
Yeah, the principal who is probably going to dish you out a slow and painful death if the camera swings by us and he sees you pinning me to a wall…
"I'm also aspiring to be a great Entertainment Duellist like Sakaki Yusho!" he smiled, removing his hand and producing a rose out of nowhere, smiling and winking.
If there's cameras on us right now, my dad is definitely having a fit somewhere…
"Sure, let's duel," I said with a smile. "As another aspiring Entertainment Duellist, I'm curious… In seeing how you duel!"
I took a few steps away, in preparation for the duel.
"You didn't take my rose!" he said suddenly, running after me. I sweat-dropped.
"Errrmmm… Thanks?" I took it, unsure of what to do with it. I didn't want to put it in my pocket and crush it, or stick it in my hair or anything. I placed it on a rock beside me.
We stood on either side of a bridge, lava flowing under us.
"Since we both have one win," I said firmly, "Why don't we each bet two Pendulum cards?" I held out my cards, so he could see that I was not bluffing.
He smirked, clicking his fingers and said something in English (something like 'good', so I assumed he was up for it). "You are an Entertainer! This way will definitely be more exciting!"
"Well then," he held out his arm. "Ladies first."
"No, I want to see what you've got! I'll let you go first!" I smiled.
"What an honour!" he grinned. "All right! My turn! When neither of us control any monsters, I can summon this monster to the field! I special summon Entermage Stilts Shooter! I set one card and then I… Set the Scale 10 Pendulum Card, Yellow Scarab, in the Pendulum zone!"
I blinked, watching one monster appear in the air but nothing happening. Did Dennis understand the concept of Pendulum Summoning? He seemed to look like he knew what he was doing. "He's only setting one of them…?" I asked, shocked.
"I activate Yellow Scarab's Pendulum Effect!" he smiled. "It increases all Spellcaster's attack points by 300!"
"I see… It was for that effect…" I muttered. Dennis was using Pendulum summoning like he had been using it his whole life. And he hadn't even properly Pendulum summoned yet.
"You need two Pendulum cards in order to perform a Pendulum summon but it is also possible to activate only one!" Dennis put his hands on his hips, smiling. Man, he was clever. I wondered if Yuya even knew that. "I end my turn here!" he announced.
But since he only used one, that means he must not have another Pendulum card in his hand! If so… Then…
"My turn! Draw!" I shouted. I drew and stared at the card. Yes!
"I, using the Scale 3, White Butterfly and the Scale 9, White Flower, set the Pendulum Scale!" I announced, feeling a rush of excitement. I just couldn't get over my sense of achievement whenever I Pendulum summoned. Well, hey. It was only my second proper time. "With this, I am able to simultaneously summon monsters between level 4 and level 8! Pendulum summon! Fantasia Songstress Soprano! And, Fantasia Maiden Tam-Tam!"
"If I use Soprano as Fusion Material, I can Fusion summon without using a fusion spell card! I fuse Soprano and Tam-Tam! Fusion Summon! Fantasia Muse Bloom Diva!" I resisted the urge to jump up and down, cheering. I was on a roll!
"Fantastic!" Dennis clicked his fingers. "As expected of You Show Duel School!"
"Save your praises until after my attack is over!" I snapped.
"Oh, how rude of me," he bowed, as I continued.
"I activate Fantasia Maiden Tam-Tam's Fusion Material effect! I decrease my attack power by 500 points and deal 500 points of damage to my opponent!" My monsters attack points dropped to just 500, something I wanted, and Dennis' life dropped to 3500 points, also something I wanted. For most people, Tam-Tam's effect had the handicap of losing 500 points and potentially making their monster too weak. That was the best thing about Bloom Diva. Her weakness was her strength.
"Battle," I said quietly. "I attack Stilts Shooter with Bloom Diva! Bloom Diva is not destroyed when battling a special summoned monster and negates all damage to the player I would take! The opponent is dealt equal to the amount negated and the monster that battled is destroyed!"
Even though Dennis was caught in the green blast, I was surprised to see he kept his feet and managed to land standing, even if he had to bend down and drag his hand across the ground to stop himself falling over the rail. His lifepoints dropped to 1500.
"That's quite the monster you've got there!" he complimented me. He glanced to the side, then snatched up an Action card that must have been stuck to the hand rail. "Since I'm feeling a little upset now, I'm going to activate the Action Magic: Flame Ball!"
"That's nothing!" I shouted over to him, as a small meteor appeared before me, about to blast me with some damage.
"But…" he said dangerously. "I'm going to turn that Flame Ball into a rainbow burst!"
"One," he held up one finger.
"Two" he held up two fingers.
"Three" he held up three fingers.
Then, the fire ball turned into a puff of pink smoke.
"Huh?" was all I could say before I was violently thrown backwards from a new blast. Like Dennis, I stopped my acceleration by dragging my hand down the pavement. My life points had dropped to 2000.
"Are you alright?" he called over, as I blinked. "Sorry for scaring you like that! By banishing Stilts Shooter from my graveyard, I can make Flame Ball's damage equal to the largest amount of damage I've taken from you."
I grimaced and stood back up. "I activate the Continuous Magic: Slow Tempo! Normal Summoned monsters cannot attack in the turn they're summoned! I end my turn!"
"I see," Dennis grinned. "Bloom Diva cannot be destroyed by Special Summoned monsters. And, if you try to turn the tables with a Normal Summoned monster, you won't be able to attack immediately. But, it wouldn't be much of a show-up if you didn't make it difficult!"
"My turn! Draw!" he shouted. "From here on it's my show time! With the Scale 2, Blue Whale and the already set Scale 10 Yellow Scarab, I set the Pendulum Scale! With this, I am able to summon monsters between the levels 2 and 9 simultaneously! Pendulum Summon! Level 4, Entermage Damage Juggler and Level 4, Entermage Flame Eater!"
Two level 4s!
"I overlay the level 4 Damage Juggler and Flame Eater! XYZ summon! Rank 4, Entermage Trapeze Magician!"
"An XYZ summon!" I acknowledged. Suddenly, I shivered. It was if I could feel someone watching me. I shrugged it off, dismissing it as my imagination.
"Battle!" Dennis announced. "I attack Bloom Diva with Trapeze Magician!"
"That's no use!" I pointed at my monster. "I activate Bloom Diva's effect!" My hair waved wildly in the wind as the green wind struck Dennis again, however he stood strong.
"I thought so!" he told me, as he shielded his eyes with his arm.
"If you knew, then why?" I demanded.
"I believe in him, because he is an Entertainer!" he shouted, I was about to shout back and ask what he meant by that, but then I saw. The Trapeze Magician had dodged past my Diva! "With Trapeze's effect I can negate and effect damage lower than its attack!"
"But!" I cried over. "Trapeze Magician will be destroyed by Bloom Diva's effect!"
"No! This is where I perform the super illusion of the century!" he twirled, surrounded by spotlights.
"One," he held up one finger.
"Two," he held up two fingers.
"Three!" he held up- you get the jist!
Then there was a puff of more pink smoke. I braced myself, expecting to be flown backwards again and receive unexpected damage but it never happened. Instead, the Trapeze Magician grabbed my Bloom Diva and they both dived into a yellow cube that had appeared above us. Light shone from the box and then it exploded.
"What!?" I wailed, seeing a pillar of light appear beside me. "What is this?" the light vanished to reveal… Dennis' Trapeze Magician!? I blinked, looking over to Dennis who had my Bloom Diva on his side. "What's going on?" I asked him.
"Looks like I surprised you again!" he said cheerfully. "I activated the Trap Card: Trick Box! With this, Trapeze Magician is not destroyed and switches control with its effect negated in exchange for Bloom Diva!"
"No way!"
"Battle! I attack Bloom Diva with Trapeze Magician! Trapeze Magicain! Rest in peace to the beautiful sound of Bloom Diva's voice!" Dennis said sweetly.
Nonononono! This cannot be happening! I searched through my hand, staring around desperately for Action cards. I'm going to be beaten by my monster! My ace monster!
I screamed. I don't think I have screamed so loudly in a long time. It was like being hit by a car (or what I imagined it was like, anyway) as the green wind hit me. The attack from my monster. My monster was the reason I lost this duel. My ace.
I was thrown into the air, meters high and began to fall, increasing in speed, falling downwards, downwards, downwards, downwards…
Downwards…
Downwards…
Then, two arms grabbed me. I looked up through bleary eyes to see different shades of vibrant orange. "Dennis!" I shouted. "But then! You're going to-!"
He winked, his hair flapping in the wind. "It's ok! When the monster swapped by Trick Box is destroyed, it is Special Summoned back onto the original controller's field!"
I gasped, as Trapeze Magician grabbed us both. "Welcome back, Trapeze Magician!" Dennis shouted, as the Magician made its usual cackle. I could hear extremely distant screams from (what I guessed was) the stadium. Our duel was obviously on camera right now. I was on camera right now. In Dennis' arms…
I wondered how my dad was reacting.
The second we landed back on solid ground, I jumped out of his grasp and stood several feet away, brushing off my skirt. I coughed. "It's hard to admit it but… here…" I held out my Pendulum cards. "It's my loss."
"And now, with this, we're friends," he took the cards off me. "Let's make it through the tournament and duel again!"
He smiled and I began to smile back when-
"You won't be making it out of this!" a low, firm, female voice shouted. I turned and followed the voice. "Because you will be defeated by me right here, right now!"
There, stood a girl with purple hair. It was tied up in a yellow ribbon. She wore a red skirt and a red jacket. The clothes, the colours and the speech was wrong.
But it was me.
"Huh-what!?" Dennis spluttered, looking between me and her. "Twins?" he asked. "Who is that?"
"She looks just like me…" I said quietly.
It can't be… Ruri?
Cat: Hopefully that wasn't too bad? Sorry if it was!
Rena: Please review and we will try to get the next... 3+ (groan!) chapters up ASAP!
I have honestly no idea what question to ask, because i am so far behind in this anime... ¬_¬
