Cat: This story is in Yuzu's POV. Please give me some artistic licence. If i put some stuff that isn't in the anime in here, don't flame. There would be no point in reading, if it was just the anime in words!

Chapter 45- Destruction and Creation

The bridge separated us. She on one end, us on the other. But she was close enough to make me feel like I was looking in a mirror, almost. Her hair and clothes were different but otherwise… We were the same. It was like Yuya and Yuto. And Yuto had mentioned a person that looked just like me. Was she Ruri? The girl Yuto and Shun had been looking for for… I wasn't sure, but a long time?

"You're… Ruri?" I asked, leaning forward slightly. "Right?"

"Face me," she snarled, completely ignoring me, pointing at Dennis. "I know that you are a remnant of the XYZ force!"

"XYZ remnant?" I blinked.

"Our worlds are split into four different dimensions. Fusion. Synchro. XYZ. And the one we live in, Standard. Sora came from Fusion. Yuto and Kurosaki come from XYZ… The two dimensions are at war and, in front of my very eyes, I saw Sora battling Yuto… And he disappeared."

I glanced over at Dennis. If he was a so-called 'XYZ remnant', was he on Yuto and Shun's side? A friend of theirs? I glanced down at what he was wearing. Maybe not… I cannot imagine him being friends with the sullen Shun and Yuto. Dennis didn't look like he had just been caught up in a war. He looked like he had been in a war at a jumble sale.

Dennis scratched his head, smiling. "No, I'm not that…"

"Don't play dumb!" she shouted, looking very threatening. "If you won't start, I will!" she pulled out a weirdly shaped disk. It actually looked more like a triangle. But the actual field board was in the shape of a sword. It had a hilt and it got thicker as it continued down, stopping it a fearful point. It looked like she could cause serious damage if she decided she wanted to poke us with it.

"H-Hold on!" I stood in front of Dennis. "We're currently in the middle of the Junior Youth Championship right now! What are you-"

"It's ok, Yuzu," Dennis said from behind me. "She's clearly misunderstood something but… Adapting to situations like this is part of Entertainment Duelling too! Right?" he winked at me.

"Ummm…" I muttered, staring at him. "Are you even listening?"

"Now then, shall we start!?" he asked her cheerfully. "Just stand back, Yuzu! But make sure to watch closely! It's more fun when there is an audience!"

I took a step back as he said that and it made me realise something. The audience! Everyone back at the stadium! A random girl had just appeared up in the JYC and challenged an opponent to a duel! I wasn't 100% confident in this 'Battle Royale' thing but I was sure this was against the rules. I glanced up at one of the cameras and my stomach dropped. The camera was dead. It was hanging, its lens focused to the floor, no lights coming off it. We were completely alone.

"My turn!" my double announced. "I activate the Magic card: Fusion from my hand!"

"Fusion?" I whispered.

"You are not Ruri. Ruri would never learn the enemy's summoning method!"

"I fuse Moonlight Blue Cat and Moonlight Purple Butterfly! Come to me! Moonlight Cat Dancer!" The girl had summoned a 2400 attack point monster on her first turn.

Ruri is Kurosaki's little sister. If she is from the XYZ dimension, she wouldn't be using Fusion! Then, just who is she?

She glared at us both. "I set one card face down and end my turn! Now, bring it on!"

I glanced over at Dennis as he began to chuckle. Did he appreciate that that monster over there had 2400 attack points? Probably not, actually.

"Well then," he said calmly. "It's the show time you've been waiting for! My turn, draw! I summon Entermage Flame Eater from my hand! And then, if there is at least two monsters on the field I can Special Summon Entermage Hat Tricker! Argh!" he said quickly, as if he had done something wrong.

"Two monsters of the same level…" the girl growled. I grinned.

"He's going to XYZ summon, isn't he?" I glanced over at him to see him standing there, completely gormless. "Dennis…?" I began to ask.

"Excuse me for a moment!" he said suddenly. "Bath time! One, two, three!" he snapped his fingers and bubbles began to appear. "I activated the Continuous Magic: Barrier Bubble! With this, all Entermage monsters with 1500 attack points or less can negate one of my opponent's attacks per turn! I end my turn here!"

"Why?" I wanted to scream and demand what he was planning. He had everything set up for an XYZ! He could have had a battle with her monster but… He chickened out? But why? That made no sense! Especially from someone like Dennis!

"Why won't you use XYZ?" she hissed.

"Cause… I'm not an XYZ remnant or whatever you called me…" Dennis shrugged.

"You're still gonna play dumb!?" she shrieked. "My turn! I summon Moonlight Blue Cat from my hand! I activate Moonlight Cat Dancer's effect! I release Blue Cat! It can now attack every monster on the field twice! Battle! I attack Flame Eater with Cat Dancer!"

"By Barrier Bubble's effect, I can negate your attack once per turn!" Dennis shouted.

"Once more, attack Flame Eater!" the girl commanded her monster. The monster squealed, then exploded in a burst of flame. He covered his face with his arms as his life points dropped to 2800. "Next, attack Hat Tricker!"

"By Bubble Barrier's effect, the attack is negated!" he reminded her, as the attack was nullified.

"But I'm going to attack Hat Tricker again!" she pointed, just before the attack went through. I held one hand to my face and one to my skirt as the wind picked up and sped past us. Dennis was thrown in the air and landed a few meters backwards on his back with a sickening thud. "I end my turn here."

I sighed as the wind subsided. Dennis groaned, sitting up again. "Man, you are ruthless, aren't you?" Dennis grinned.

"This immense power…"

A resounding explosion shook the stands making me yelp and grip onto the railing, in case I was chucked off. When the tremors stopped, I slowly lifted my head to blink down. My gaze was all fuzzy. I shook my head and opened and closed my eyes until I could see what was actually going on. I gasped as I watched the fire engulf the Action Field, on a rampage to destroy the city. I could just make out the shape of Sora and his monster.

Could it be… She's from the Fusion Dimension?

"I have never had… a more boring duel!" she snarled. "Hurry up and finish! I want to go search for the other!"

The other?

"You really are a scary one…" Dennis flicked a section of his hair. "Then I guess I can get serious, for a bit. My turn, draw."

He took one look at the card and…

Turned into a soulless husk.

"I lose…" he said mournfully, in a really high-pitched squeak. "I set one card in face-down defence position, one card face down and end my turn…"

"A desperately set monster and backrow…" she gripped her hands into shaking fists. "You… Are you underestimating me!?" she demanded.

"No, that's not it-" Dennis wailed.

"No excuses!" she snarled, weirdly reminding me of Yuya's maths teacher back when we were ten, when he didn't do his homework. "My turn! I summon Moonlight White Rabbit! Once per turn, it can return a magic or trap card back to its owner's hand! I choose Barrier Bubble! I also activate Cat Dancer's effect! I release White Rabbit, for Cat Dancer to attack twice!"

"Battle! I attack your face down monster with Cat Dancer! But due to Cat Dancer's effect, it cannot be destroyed on the first battle! Trap card activate! Moonlight Dance! During the Battle Phase, if a Moonlight Monster attacked, it can change the position of all the monsters you control! Then, their attack and defence is halved until the end of the battle phase!"

Dennis' monster hung out in attack position, with only 800 attack points.

"Battle! I attack Trick Clown with Cat Dancer!"

The attack was getting closer and closer. He's going to-!

"No…" Dennis smirked. "Here, I present a miracle illusion-!" But then he stopped, staring up at the sky, looking spooked. Had he seen something? It had only been a second but it had been too long. It was too late. His monster was completely butchered and Dennis was flung backwards, screaming. He landed on his back again, meters away, his life hitting 0. He lay there and didn't move.

"Dennis-" I gasped, about to move over to him.

"A worthless opponent." The girl snapped, I stared back at her. She began walking towards me. She was just inches away from me. I opened my mouth, to say something. But then, suddenly, many people just appeared at the other end of the bridge, where she had just been standing. They all wore masks covering most of their faces, their eyes hidden by red, glowing orbs but their manic grins very visible. They wore white trousers and blue blazers… Blazers that looked almost identical to Soras… I could hear them sniggering as they began to advance.

Then, there was a flash of light by their feet and suddenly everything was hidden in thick, black smoke. Before I registered what was happening, I felt strong arms grip me and haul me up and out of the smoke.

"Stop!" I screamed, struggling against their grip. "Where are you taking me!?"

"Don't worry! You're safe!" they shouted, dumping me on the pavement before completely vanishing.

Cat: Rubbish ending, i know! But i have no idea what happened to Yuzu once those guys took her out of the smoke so...

Rena: Anyway, onto chapter 46! Right now!
