Smile and Say Cydra: Epilogue

After a tense ride from the woods, the group had returned to the Donaldson residence, where the kids received quite a shock of an explanation, learning that Cydra's adoptive parents, Richard and Nancy, are former vampire hunters.

"You have got to be kidding!" Cydra said.

Her parents chuckled. "Actually, we're not, sweety." Nancy said.

"This may come as a shock to you," Richard began, "but it's actually how your mother and I met."

"Wait a minute... you guys met hunting vampires?" Alvin asked.

"Isn't that romantic?" Brittany remarked, sarcastically.

"Well, that's something that gradually happened over time," Nancy said, "but we did actually meet at a convention several, several years ago."

"It was really something of a hobby both of us shared back then," Richard said, "we never really found any actual vampires to hunt, but it was something we would participate in at conventions."

"We always had an interest in vampire phenomona." Nancy said.

"So that's how you knew how to defeat Kyle?" Simon asked.

"Partly," Nancy said.

"In studying old vampire folk lore, we were aware that there was supposed still direct descendants of Vlad the Impaler among us." Richard said.

"Who's Vlad the Impaler?" Theodore asked.

"He's the original Count Dracula," Jeanette said, "he was known for his gruesome methods of torturing people, including impaling them."

"I'm just glad we got there in time before that happed to Cydra." Nancy said, wrapping her arms around her.

"I had no idea about any of this about you guys." Cydra said.

"Well, we knew how much you hated anything pertaining to vampires, so we just let it fall by the wayside." Nancy said.

"But, this explains alot about you to us as well." Richard said.

"We always did wonder why you seemed to take your animosity of vampire-related things to such personal levels," Nancy said, "now we know why."

Cydra sighed. "Well, I guess it's finally all over, for good, thanks to you guys."

"Thanks to your friends." Richard said.

"They told us everything." Nancy said.

"I know," Cydra sighed again, before turn to them, "you guys really are the greatest friends I ever had."

"We had no intentions of standing by and letting your mystery going unsolved." Simon said.

"That's right, we always save the day!" Alvin boasted.

"Alvin..." the others groaned.

"I guess we better notify the police that your home, Cydra." Richard said, reaching over and caressing her head.

"How exactly are you going to explain all of this to the police?" Cydra asked.

"Yeah, I doubt there going to belive any of what happened to us." Eleanor said.

"We'll find a way to explain this, somehow..." Nancy said.

While the Donaldsons left out just about all aspects of the vampires and there intended sacrifice from there report to the police, they mentioned that the chipmunks and chipettes managed to find Cydra in the woods after they had organized there own impromptu search party to find their friend. As far as the police are concerned, the suspects are still at large, and have continued to release their images from the survellance tape to the public, asking for any information regarding them. As life began to gradually quiet back down for everybody, Richard and Nancy opened up more and more about their past as amateur vampire hunters to Cydra, as she continued to express more and more of an interest in their past hobby. Not only that, but gradually, Cydra opened herself up more and more to everyone, including her friends. With Kyle and his minions gone for good, Cydra suddenly felt a part of her that was still confined to her past was now freed, and she didn't condemn things so much anymore. With loving parents, caring and supportive friends, and a new outlook on life, Cydra actually had a sense of what it felt like to be "normal". And she liked it.

The end.
