Lloyd's POV
Natalia and I decided to go back to my house. I was a little nervous about introducing her to Mom and Dad and Uncle Sensei.
"Mom! I'm home!"
"Lloyd! Where were you?"
"With a friend of mine, Mom. At lunch. You want to meet her?"
"Sure, Lloyd."
We walked into the kitchen. "Mom, meet Natalia. She goes to Darkly's. Actually, she's the only 'she' at Darkly's."
"Hello, Mrs. Garmadon," said Natalia, politely.
"Hello?", said Uncle Sensei, sticking his head in from the kitchen. "Do we have guests?"
"It's just one of Lloyd's friends, Wu."
"Anybody want some tea?"
"No!", all three of us yelled at the same time.
"Fine, more for me," he said, coming in with his teacup in his hand. (What else was new?) "Oh my," he said. "Lloyd, is this the girl you were telling me about?"
"Huh? What? N-n-no...well, yes...no!"
"I see."
I decided to change the subject, fast. "Hey, Natalia, you wanna meet Cole and Jay? I don't know who else is home, but we can talk to them."
We found Cole and Jay playing video games. (Seriously, what's new?) "Cole, Jay, this is my friend Natalia."
"Hi!", they both said without actually stopping the game.
"Yeah, never mind." Natalia spotted the comic book collection I had stashed on the shelf.
"Hey, you like Starfarer?"
"Yeah."
"Me too!"
"Seriously?"
"Oh, yeah!" She grinned. I don't know why I got so dizzy when she smiled like that.
"Uh, uh, um, yeah, that's great!", I stammered. Hold it together, Lloyd, I scolded myself. She probably thinks you're a dork already without you being embarrassing like that.
We walked back out on the deck. "It's really great out here," she said.
"Yeah. Great."
"So, are you doing any special classes at Darkly this year?"
"Nah. Not really. Anything special going on at school?"
"Well, there's going to be a party. If enough girls join the school, we might even do a dance."
"A dance? Yeah...cool."
I knew I had to ask her to this. I just didn't know how to do it without making myself look like the biggest fool in Ninjago City.
(Next chapter: Kind of both, with Misako and Lloyd talking together.)
