Okay since we have kid!Klaine can we have teen!Klaine, too? Is that a thing?
Anyway yeah, Kurt confessing he loves Blaine :) I know I've already written something similar, about Kurt telling Blaine that he's gay, but I like this AU and therefore there will be more of it.
The Courage to Tell You
Kurt's heart is beating. How is he going to do this?
No, that's not the question. He planned how well enough.
What is he going to do if Blaine says he doesn't feel the same way? What if he doesn't want to stay friends? What if he's not… Well, no, Kurt is ninety nine percent sure Blaine's gay.
It doesn't mean I'm his type, or that he wants me like that.
"Blaine? Can I talk to you for a second?" he says, shaking.
Blaine looks up from his textbook, and oh god, he has no idea what's coming. "Yeah, sure. Is everything okay?"
Kurt's legs are half numb. He doesn't think he can move them. "Um, yeah." He swallows down a few quick breaths, trying to calm himself. "So, listen…"
And something shifts in Blaine's eyes then. They shimmer, twinkle in the dim afternoon light, and Kurt's breath is brutally stolen from his lungs.
"I- I'm in love with you!" he blurts out and slaps a hand across his mouth. Blaine blinks a few times, shocked. "Oh my god, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean for this to come out this way…"
He wants to look away but can't; Blaine's eyes are hypnotizing, captivating him and keeping him still. "You're in love with me?"
Kurt clenches his jaw, preparing for disappointment. Tears are prickling in his eyes. "Yes."
Blaine sits up, and in the nanosecond that his face starts getting closer and closer, Kurt has the time to realize what's happening and suck in a sharp exhale before their lips meet.
It's short, so short and so sweet; they part softly, with a silent smack, and Blaine's breath is shuddering.
"I've been in love with you for months. I guess I just never had the courage to tell you," he whispers, and his breath tickles Kurt's skin.
"Really?"
Blaine takes Kurt's hand between both of his; they're warm and soft, and suddenly Kurt feels like he's melting. "Really."
Hesitating for only a short moment, Kurt puts his head on Blaine's shoulder. He doesn't nuzzle Blaine's neck or even curl into the comforting shape of his body; he just wants to be a little closer.
"We can lie down," says Blaine, and Kurt nods. They fall back together, chuckling when it's a bit awkward as they shove books away and shuffle until limbs fall into place, and Kurt wraps his arms around Blaine's tiny waist.
That's when it hits him, fast and forceful like a train; here, in his best friend's arms- that's his home.
