First dinner at the Andersons' house- a prompt from jenanistonrockz :D
Dinner with the Parents
Blaine had insisted that he should make dinner, banning everyone else from the kitchen. He made a three course meal (the dessert in the form of a huge chocolate cake) in two hours, finishing up merely fifteen minutes before Kurt's arrival and running up to his room to change while shouting to his parents commands of "set the table!" and "when he gets here be nice!" to their quiet chuckles.
While tying his bowtie, he saw Kurt's car pulling into the drive way outside his window; he finished tying it quickly and ran downstairs, opening the door a second before Kurt could knock.
"Hi," Kurt said, and leaned in to peck Blaine's lips; Blaine was horrified for a moment, but it was over quickly and his parents will be fine with just a short kiss hello, right?
"Hey," he replied, feeling the nervousness grow in his stomach. Oh god, what if he doesn't like them? What if they don't like him? What if it's totally embarrassing and he doesn't want to date me anymore?
"I brought flowers," Kurt said, handing the bouquet to Blaine, who smiled, grabbing his other hand; the touch was soothing, grounding, and Blaine breathed deeply and turned around to face his parents.
"Mom, dad, meet Kurt."
"Hi, Mr. and Mrs. Anderson," said Kurt in a perfectly even voice and a little smile.
Rob shook Kurt's hand, muttering, "good to finally meet ya, boy" and Julia gave him a little hug, saying something in his ear that made him smile. Blaine clutched the flowers a little tighter.
"Alright, we should go eat," said Blaine, his stomach in knots, and pulled Kurt to the dining table, his parents following.
"You see that, Kurt?" said Julia. "He's trying to stuff our mouths with food before we can embarrass him."
"Mom!"
"Julia, honey, do you know where we put the albums? Kurt would probably love to see-"
Blaine gave him such a look he stopped talking, pursing his lips and shuddering with contained laughter.
When he looked over to Kurt, he was pressing a hand against his mouth, trying not to laugh as well.
"Fine, keep laughing at me, all of you!" he raised his arms in defeat. "Just sit down while you're at it, I'm going to bring the food."
