Winged!Blaine :D I think I've never written this AU- basically he's just a normal person but with wings. And it's awesome.

Title from (and inspired by) Lea's single, Cannonball.

I'll Fly like a Cannonball

"Ready?" Blaine smiled at him.

"Ready as I'll ever be," chuckled Kurt, breathless, holding onto Blaine tightly; Blaine picked him up, and he wrapped his kegs around his waist.

"One, two, three-" and Blaine jumped forward; the few first seconds of falling from the top of the building had Kurt screaming, until Blaine began flapping his spread wings, and not a second later they were flying up-up-up, cutting fast through the wind and soaring into the cold air.

"We're flying," muttered Kurt.

"No, I'm the one flying, you're clinging to me."

"Shut up," he smiled, but his voice had no malice in it. He was stunned. "Should I look down?" asked Kurt, staring at Blaine's hazel eyes.

"Nope. Look up."

Kurt did as he was told, and above them, lit in the red sunset, were dark clouds, big and beautiful, tiny drops of rain falling from them, swirling around in the air in a way that seemed almost magical.

"Do you mind the rain? We could go back," said Blaine over the loud noise of wind in Kurt's ear.

"No, no, it's beautiful."

Blaine smiled, and kissed his chin, pressing his fingertips harder against his skin. "You're beautiful."

Kurt kissed him back, and he lost his focus for a moment, making them drop a few feet down to Kurt's squeal.

"Sorry," giggled Blaine at Kurt's terrified face. "Not used to having distractions when I'm flying."

"Okay, okay, I won't distract you. Can we go higher?"

"As you wish," said Blaine cheerfully and they darted up, moving faster and faster; he gazed up at the clouds, beautifully orange from the sunset, hypnotized as his wings flapped forcefully behind him.

Kurt hugged him tighter- not because he felt like he was about to fall but because he needed to be closer, and rested his head on Blaine's shoulder as he looked up as well, admiring the fiery colors and feeling the chill of cold rain on his face.

Sometimes he couldn't believe this was his life, but in that moment, with Blaine's warm body flushed against his, he didn't dare questioning any of it.
