Allie awoke to the sound of light snoring coming from behind her and the feel of a warm, strong body wrapped snugly around her. After coming out of her sleepy haze, she smiled to herself and rolled slowly over so as not to disturb her bed buddy.
She bit her lip, smiling at the cute scene in front of her. Jon's face was snuggled into the pillow his head rested on and his blonde curls were a messy halo around his head. The soft snores coming from his slightly open mouth were from pure exhaustion that no doubt were caused from his plane hopping the day before.
Allie's smile broadened as she took in the form of the sleeping Moxley that was curled up on the pillow above Jon's head. His cute little puppy face was rested on Jon's head, keeping close to his daddy.
Allie pressed a feather light kiss to the tip of Jon's nose, making her stifle a giggle when he snorted loudly and nuzzled further into the pillow. Moxley wasn't fazed in the least. As slowly and quietly as she could, Allie untangled herself from Jon and slid out of bed.
Making her way downstairs, she could smell the wonderful aroma of coffee brewing in the kitchen. Stepping into the room, she was greeted with a warm smile from Leighla, who happily poured her a cup and handed it to her as she approached.
"Thank you, dear," Allie smiled at her, moving to fix her coffee. "Colby still asleep?"
"Yep," Leighla answered with a giggle, as Allie sat at the kitchen island. "He doesn't get to sleep in all that much when you guys are on the road, so he tries to sleep as much as possible when he's home." Allie nodded in understanding. It was a tough gig to lead the life of a pro wrestler, but she wouldn't trade it for anything. "Jon still sleeping?"
Allie smiled thinking about her boyfriend and the lengths he went through to get to her yesterday. She felt her heart flutter at the thought and even though she hated the idea of herself being the cause of him missing those promotions, she couldn't deny that she had been beyond words at seeing him. "Yea, I'm sure he's exhausted from all the travel yesterday. I'm not expecting him up anytime soon."
"Well then, since the boys will be asleep for a while," Leighla said, taking a seat next to Allie at the island. "Do you wanna run out and do some chicky things before they get up?"
"Absolutely," Allie beamed excitedly, "What do you have in mind, ma'am?"
"Do you like antiquing?" Leighla asked, as Allie sipped her coffee. "There are a few places nearby I thought we could creep around."
"Yes!" Allie answered, making Leighla giggle. "I love antiquing! Steph and I are somewhat obsessed with it."
"Awesome!" Leighla said, standing up. "Let's get ready to go then. We can stop and get coffee on the way."
The girls bounded up the stairs excitedly to get ready, doing their best not to wake the boys up. A few minutes later, they met back up downstairs and headed out the door.
The sites around Davenport was definitely not what Allie had been expecting. She and Leighla had spent the morning exploring every possible corner of Davenport and Allie was simply captivated by it.
"I absolutely love it here," She beamed as she and Leighla walked the streets with coffee and fresh donuts in hand. "If I could pick my house up and move it here, I would."
"You guys have to come back in the fall," Leighla said around a mouthful of donut. "It's my favorite time of year and there are so many fun things to do. You'd love it."
"Oh we definitely will," Allie giggled, glancing into the different shops along the way. "I love the fall too. I can only imagine what it's like here." Allie thought of something that instantly excited her, turning to look at Leighla. "Wrestlemania is in New Orleans this year. I can only imagine you, Steph, and me exploring down there."
"I know!" Leighla agreed with a laugh. "I was so excited when Colby told me about it. We have to start looking into things to do down there. I know you and Steph will be busy since you'll be back in the swing of things by then, but I hope we can run around and do some stuff."
"Oh, don't you worry that pretty little head of yours," Allie said wrapping an arm around Leighla's shoulders. "There is no way that I'd miss out on wreaking havoc in New Orleans with you."
Both girls laughed as they continued on their way around Davenport, wasting time until the boys called them. Allie couldn't believe that she and Leighla were only now getting to know each other, but she was thrilled at how much they had in common. She knew it would take much for she and Leighla to become the best of friends.
"Leigh, look at this," Allie called to her, drawing the bubbly brunette's attention. The girls were currently in their third antique shop and hadn't had much luck in finding anything this far. Leighla stepped up beside and looked at the box in front of Allie in awe.
"Is that?" Leighla cut off.
"Yes. I believe it is," Allie smiled at her.
"An antique vampire slaying kit?" Leighla asked, excitedly. "That's so cool! How much is it?"
"$1,200," the clerk answered stepping up to the case the kit sat in.
"Yikes," Leighla laughed, shaking her head. "I just can't see myself explaining to Colby how this was worth over a grand."
"She'll take it," Allie said to the clerk, making Leighla gap and sputter at her for minute.
"Allie?" Leighla watched as Allie handed the clerk her credit card. "What are you doing?" Leighla reached out to stop her.
"It's fine," Allie smiled, gently pushing Leighla's hand aside. "Think of it as a thank you for your generosity and hospitality while I'm here and for helping me with my upcoming makeover."
"There is no way that's an even trade," Leighla laughed. "It's really not necessary, Al."
"Maybe not," Allie chuckled, taking the bag the clerk handed her after signing her receipt. She held the bag out to Leighla with a genuine grin, "But it's yours anyway."
"I don't even know what to say," Leighla said taking the bag in disbelief. "Thank you! At least let us pay for dinner tonight."
"Deal," Allie laughed, as they walked out of the shop and headed towards the car. "Wanna head back? The boys are probably up by now." Just as she said that, both of their phones began to ring making both the girls giggle.
"Yea, let's head back," Leighla said as they climbed into the car. "Colby and I wanna take you somewhere." Both girls pulled out there phones as they headed off towards the house, giggling as they answered.
Returning back to the house, they were greeted by two very disheveled looking men standing at the kitchen counter, drinking their coffee.
"Morning, boys," Leighla smiled at them, as she and Allie walked into the kitchen with their bags. Setting her bags down, Leighla carefully pulled out the antique vampire slaying kit and showed it to Colby. "Babe, look at this. Isn't the coolest."
"That's awesome," Colby smiled at her, looking over the contents of the box. "See you had some luck antiquing today."
"Allie found it, actually," Leighla swooned over the awesome find. "She bought it for us." Colby looked up at Allie, who had made her way over to Jon and was wrapped tightly in his arms. Colby opened his mouth as if to debate, but was quickly cut off.
"Don't," Allie pointed at him with a smile. "Think of it as belated house warming present." Colby shook his head, but couldn't fight the smile that came across his face.
"Thanks, Allie," he said, making her smile, before turning back to Leighla. "Are you ladies ready to head out for our fun filled afternoon? We can stop for lunch on the way."
"Sure," Leighla grinned, excitedly. "Let me just run my bags upstairs and change real quick. Be back in a few." Colby smiled after her, before following her upstairs to get himself ready.
Allie turned to meet Jon's handsome face and was greeted by his lips when she did. She hummed against them and returned the sweet kiss with a smile. Pulling back, Jon licked his lips and chuckled. "You taste like sugar." Allie laughed, knowing he was probably tasting all the sweet treats she and Leighla had indulged in on their travels. "Did you at least bring me some?"
"Maybe," she giggled, before turning to fish through one of the bags. Turning back to him she handed him a plastic container and watched his eyes light up at what was inside it.
He tugged her close to him and kissed her deeply, before pulling back and murmuring against her lips. "I love you, but how did you know?"
"I asked around," she giggled against his lips as he placed several more light kisses to her lips. "I was surprised that every time I asked, I got the same answer. You must really love pecan pie if everyone knows."
"It's my go to," he laughed, pulling back. "Like chocolate's yours." He laughed again when she scoffed in mock offense.
"You say that like you know me," Allie smirked.
"I do," Jon returning the smirk. "Thank you for the pie, baby. Get anything else good?"
"As a matter of fact," Allie said turning and digging through another bag. Pulling out a smaller black box, She turned back to Jon and handed it him. "I did."
He looked at her curiously, before pulling the lid off the box and looking inside. What met his eyes left him speechless for a moment. He swallowed harshly as he lifted it out of the box and examined it carefully.
Allie stepped up beside him and cupped the hand that was holding the object. "I saw it and couldn't resist getting it for you," she said drawing his attention away from the brown leather wrist cuff in his hand. The part that had Jon's attention was the crest that was scorched into the leather. "I-it's the Good family crest." Allie bit her lip nervously looking between Jon and the cuff, unsure of how he was feeling.
"I know," he said in a husked whisper, returning his gaze back to the cuff.
"You don't have to wear it, Jon. I won't be offended."
Jon silenced her by pulling her into a deep kiss that completely stole her breath away. "Thank you," he said, breathing against her lips. Pulling away, he placed the cuff around his right wrist, before turning to face her fully. He threaded his hands up into her hair and kissed her deeply again. "I love it. And I love you."
"I love you, too," she smiled, relieved that Jon liked the gift. Giving him another sweet kiss, she took one of his hands and pulled him towards the stairs. "Come on. Let's go get ready, baby." Jon smiled and followed her up the stairs to get ready. He could help, but glance down at his wrist several times with a bright smile.
After everyone was ready to go, the two couple left for the afternoon's adventures.
"Saddle up, buddy."
"No way, dude."
"Get on the horse, Jon," Colby said, pushing a struggling Jon towards the saddled horse.
Colby and Leighla had taken Allie and Jon to a local farm to go horseback riding, much to Jon's displeasure. Colby had found out during a conversation with Allie one day that she loved horses and had grown up taking riding lessons. After informing Leighla that it had been quite a while since she had gone, the two decided to surprise her.
"There's no way I'm getting on that thing," Jon answered, still struggling against him.
"Dude, your girlfriend is gonna be here any second. Do you really want her to see the great Jonathan Good acting like a pussy?" Colby laughed as he picked him up off his feet and shoved Jon closer to the dark grey quarter horse with a black mane and tail.
The boys were interrupted by the sound of hooves thundering towards them. They looked up to see Allie and Leighla riding towards them at full canters with wide smiles on their faces.
"Whoa, Malachi," Allie called to the impressive black horse she was riding, as she pulled back gently on his reins. Once the horse came to a stop, she patted him lovingly on his neck. "Good boy."
"You guys will never believe what just happened," Leighla gushed excitedly, jumping down from the brown Quarter horse she was riding.
"Is that an Arabian?" Colby cut in, pointing at the horse Allie was sitting on in disbelief.
"Yes!" Leighla yelped excitedly. "That's what's so awesome." She waited for Allie to jump down before she continued. "We were walking the stables when we saw this guy. The farm hand said that the owner had just sold him to the farm, because he couldn't afford to care for him anymore."
"He said that they weren't going to be able to keep him," Allie said, continuing where Leighla left off. "The farm just isn't financially able to keep him on without a private owner, soooo..."
"So? What?" Jon asked with a smirk and a raised eyebrow at the sheepish look of his girlfriend.
"Soooo," Allie grinned broadly. "I bought him."
"What?!" Jon and Colby both responded, but with completely different reactions. Colby had an excited look on his face, while Jon's dropped to one of shock disbelief. "Babe, you can't be serious? What the hell are you going to do with him? I don't think they make travel bags big enough for him."
"I'm having him sent over to my place," Allie rolled her eyes playfully at Jon. "I have a stable that I've been wanting to use and just haven't gotten around to it. Malachi will be the first and I have a friend that will take care of him while I'm away. He'll have all the room in the world to run."
"That's awesome, Al," Colby responded excitedly, as he pulled himself up into the brown and white quarter horse that had been designated as his for the day. Leighla excitedly followed suit pulling herself back up onto her horse. "You guys ready to hit the trail?"
Allie looked at Jon, who was doing his best to be as discrete about keeping a distance from his horse. Allie raised an amused eyebrow at him, before turning to the others. "You guys go ahead. We'll catch up." Leighla and Colby nodded, then took off racing towards the trail, making Allie chuckle.
Turning back towards Jon, she walked slowly up to him. He gave her the best casual look he could pull off as he glanced towards the horses. "So," he said scratching his head, "you bought a horse."
"Yep," Allie smirked, folding her arms. "Sure did." Allie gave him an appraising look before moving to stand as close to him as possible without touching him. "Jon?"
"Yea?" He said avoiding her gaze.
"Are you ok?" Allie asked, biting her lip to keep from smiling.
"Yea, absolutely," Jon nodded, still not meeting her gaze. Allie couldn't help the smile that broke out on her face.
"Jon?" She moved to try and meet his eyes, but he quickly moved his eyes away.
"Yea?"
"Sweetheart, have-," she stopped herself and cleared her throat to hide the humor in her voice. "Have you ever been on a horse before?"
"What?!" Jon looked at her defensively. "Of course I have."
"Because if you haven't, it's ok," Allie smiled at him, turning his face and finally meeting his eyes. "It's nothing to be embarrassed about."
Jon sighed deeply, then licked his lips nervously before speaking. "Look, I grew up in Cincinnati, like in the city. There weren't a lot of opportunities for horseback riding around there. I just never had the chance."
"And there's nothing wrong with that," Allie reassured him with a sweet genuine smile. "I can teach you. I promise you'll love it. Look," she said while taking his hand and walking him slowly towards his horse. "This is Rocky. Rocky is an American Quarter horse. Quarter horses are the most popular for places like this because they are the most trusted with beginners."
Allie gently rubbed Rocky's nose, "The key with any horse is to approach slowly within their eyesight and speak to them gently. They love affection. Don't you?" She cooed to Rocky, who nudged her hand gently making her giggle. "And they'll return that affection."
Jon smiled watching Allie interact with the horse. That quickly changed to nervousness when she lifted the hand she holding and placed it gently on Rocky's nose along with hers. "Just rub his nose, baby. You need to relax and trust him. They can sense tension and you don't want him to feel your tension when you're riding him. It'll make him nervous."
Jon swallowed, but willed his body to relax as he stroked the horse's nose. After a few moments, Allie saw Jon's tension fade and tried to get him to take a leap of faith, "You wanna try getting up there?"
Jon hesitated a moment and swallowed hard again, before nodding. "Ok. Just don't laugh at me." Allie gave him a reassuring smile and nodded. Jon put up his right pinky and smirked, "Pinky swear."
"Oh my gosh, you're adorable sometimes," she gushed at him, before intertwining her pinky with his. "Pinky swear." Jon gave her a wink, turning towards the horse and just staring at it. Allie smiled and shook her head stepping up beside him.
"Ok, ready?" Jon nodded. "Ok, put your left hand here," she said resting it on the horses mane along his neck. "Grip his mane lightly, do not tug or pull on it. You're using it more for balancing. Place your right hand here." She took his hand and placed it on the saddle horn. "Now, put your left foot in the stirrup." Jon did as directed and waited for his next instruction. "Ok, you're gonna push off on the stirrup and use the saddle horn to pull yourself up. Then swing your right leg over."
Jon nodded, then did as instructed, executing it perfectly for a beginner. "Great job, babe! First try! Those sexy muscles come in handy," she said, winking at him. Jon sent her a devilish grin and wiggled his eyebrows, making her giggle. "Ok, now grab a hold of the reins. This is how you control him. If you wanna go right, lead them right. Left? You lead left."
Allie stepped away from him for a moment and he watched as she expertly pulled herself up onto Malachi with ease. Turning Malachi towards Jon, she moved up beside him and gave him a smile. "Ready to catch up to Colby and Leighla?"
"I think so," he said smiling, as he brought his sunglasses down over his eyes. He leaned towards her and took her hand gently pulling her towards him. He kissed her lips with a few gentle pecks, making her blush. "Thank you, baby. And thank you for not teasing me about it."
"You're very welcome," she smiled, cupping his cheek and stroking her thumb across it. "And just for the record, I don't expect you to like everything I do. If you do, great. But I'm not one of those girlfriends that will force you to do things you hate. Just be honest with me."
"You got it," he replied sweetly. Kissing her hand lightly before he released it and turned to face forward. "Ok, so how do you start this thing?" Allie giggled, before giving him some brief instruction and the two took off to join Colby and Leighla.
Jon had caught on quickly to riding and found himself thoroughly enjoying the experience. After a fun afternoon of riding, the four friends headed back to the house to get cleaned up before dinner.
Leighla and Colby took Allie and Jon to one of their favorite local restaurants. They were all enjoying the downtime and the food and drinks were definitely an added bonus.
As they sat enjoying their after dinner drinks and desserts, Allie's phone suddenly went off alerting her to an incoming text. Pulling her phone out, she raised a curious brow seeing the text had come from Punk.
'You need to see this...'
There was a link below the text that Allie clicked on and waited for it to load. Her heart rate pulsed when she saw it was a photo from Randy's Instagram. When the photo finally loaded, Allie felt rage building inside her, nearly crushing her phone in her hand.
The photo was taken in what appeared to be a bowling alley with pool tables. The photo centered on a female that was wearing a lacy white dress, white leggings, and white heels, standing alone by a pool table. Her long dark hair cascaded down her back and she was holding a pool cue. Even though the photo was taken from behind her and Allie couldn't see her face, she knew exactly who it was. It was Steph and the caption below it, made her blood boil.
'Night out with my boy and I have the most wonderful view.'
"What's going on, babe?" Jon asked, his face matching the concerned looks of Colby and Leighla at the upset look of his girlfriend.
"Orton and Cena," she grumbled, her voice full of anger. Jon and Colby instantly tensed when Allie forwarded them the message from Phil and they saw the photo.
"Son of a bitch. That mother fucker," Colby cursed out, showing Leighla the photo. A look of worry coming over her face. "What the fuck are they doing in Pensacola?"
Quickly switching to her contacts, Allie pulled up Steph's number and hit send. She leaned forward resting her elbows on the table and rubbed at her forehead waiting for her best friend to answer.
"What up, bitch?" Steph's jovial voice came through the phone, making Allie sigh in relief.
"Where are you?" Allie voice was a bit harsher than she intended, but the thought of Orton and Cena still being nearby worried her.
"Geez, hello to you too," Steph snarked at her teasingly. "We're at a bowling alley with Joe's family. Joelle wanted to go bowling. We just got done shooting some pool while we waited for a lane to open."
"You're bowling in your white lace dress?" Allie questioned with a raised eyebrow.
"We were at dinner, it was a last minute decis-," Steph stopped suddenly, before speaking again with a confused tone. "Wait a minute. How the hell do you know what I'm wearing you creep? Are you stalking me?"
"I'm not," Allie sighed heavily, "but someone else might be."
"What the hell are you talking about?" Steph said in a worried whisper. "I'll be right back." She heard Steph say to someone.
"No!" Allie suddenly barked into the phone. "Was that Joe? Don't walk away from him. Orton and Cena are there and they know you're there."
"What's going on, Allie?" Steph's tone went from worried to startled and Allie could imagine she was looking around the bowling alley in search of Orton and Cena.
"Phil just sent me a link to Orton's Instagram and he uploaded a picture of you to it," Allie explained, as Jon moved closer to her and wrapped a comforting arm around her that she leaned into. "That's how I knew what you were wearing. He took it while you were standing by a pool table by yourself. He was behind you."
"Send me the link," she heard the deep angry voice of Joe come through the phone.
"Jon's sending it to you now," Allie answered him, after asking Jon to send the link to Joe.
"He must have taken it when Joe went to the bar to get us drinks," Steph said, while they waited for the message to come through. The deep growl from Joe a moment later informed Allie he had received it.
"That fucking cocksucker," Joe's anger flooded through the phone, though it sounded as if he was trying to keep his volume down. Joelle must have been nearby. "I swear I'm gonna kick the ever living shit out of him when I get my hands on him."
"I seriously doubt they stuck around long after he posted that," Allie said trying to calm the situation. "He isn't stupid enough to do anything with that many people around. Cena might be, but not Orton. Steph, just stick by Joe and be careful."
"Yea," Steph answered, her voice still sounding a little frazzled. "I will. We'll see you guys tomorrow."
"Just chill, but try and stay on guard," Allie said. "Enjoy your time with Jo. Tell her we said hi."
"We will," Joe's voice seemed to be calming slightly. "Talk to you guys later."
"Bye." Allie hung and placed the phone on the table with a deep sigh. "I hate those fuckers."
"I still don't understand why they're in Pensacola," Colby spoke up, drawing everyone's attention. "Tampa's almost seven hours away and they just happen to be in the same place Joe and Steph are? I don't buy it. They knew where she was."
"That's what's bothering me about this," Allie answered running a hand through her hair, before taking a long drink of her beer. "This is going beyond just fucking with us. They are out right stalking me and Steph and I don't like it. If I can barely hold my own against them, how the fuck is she going to?"
"Steph's tough as nails," Colby answered trying keep his calm, but Allie could see his fists clenching from their resting point on the table.
"Yea, she is and she can definitely hold her own," Allie nodded, dragging her fingers through the condensation on her glass. "I'm not taking that away from her, but with the way these two are going around, she won't see it coming until it's too late."
"Same goes for you," Jon cut in, his body was tense as he held her against him tightly. "There's no doubt that you'd beat the fuck out of them if they ever came at you head on, but that's not their MO. Every time they've gotten to you it's when you're not expecting it. That isn't going to change."
"Then I guess there's only one thing to do," Allie sighed, looking towards Jon. "If you can't conquer the players, you change the whole fucking game."
