Chapter 27:
Disclaimer: I own nothing related to the WWE, TNA, HWA or CZW. I only own the OCs.
Allie awoke the morning of their last full day of vacation, wrapped tightly in the warm embrace of the sleeping man behind her. Pulling Jon's arm, that was wrapped around her waist even tighter, she snuggled back into his chest. She let out a content hum, as her eyes drifted shut again, wishing they could stay like this all day.
Their vacation had been wonderful and they were all slightly dreading the return to the real world the next day. They had spent the previous day at Universal Studios, exploring the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and acting like fools. Jon had disappeared at one point and reappeared a little while later wielding a wand and presenting one to Allie as well. Shortly after, the entire group had invested in wands and they found themselves taking part in wizard duels all over the park. Many of the other patrons had recognized them and had thoroughly enjoyed watching some of their favorite superstars act like everyday people hanging out with their friends.
The day before, the girls had insisted on going to SeaWorld and the guys found themselves being dragged around the park. Not long into the day though, the guys had found they were really getting into the park and having fun. Especially after finding out there were a few roller coasters that they had made the girls ride several times. Allie smiled thinking about when Sami had gone missing only to reappear an hour or so later with a leggy brunette in tow.
Steph, however, had made quick work of making her disappear, when the girl had caught sight of the three members of The Shield. She made an enemy for life when the girl had begun blatantly flirting with Joe, making his now fiancé a raging ball of possessiveness. After telling Sami to make the rat disappear or Steph would in no uncertain terms make his life a living hell, the girl wisely left the group in search of other prospects.
This had resulted in a shouting match in the middle of the park between Steph and Sami. Sami calling her a cock block and Steph calling him a desperate manwhore.
"How can I be a fucking manwhore, when the Wicked Witches are constantly running interference?" He exclaimed pointing in Steph and Allie's direction.
"Whoa!" Allie exclaimed, stepping forward out of Jon's embrace. "I did absolutely nothing to interfere with that!"
"This time!" Sami snapped back at her.
"Hey!" Allie shoved him, making him stumble to the side a little. "First of all, it's not our fault Tits McGee decide to hit on Joe." She barked out at him. "Second of all, we wouldn't have to run interference if you would bring a nice girl home, instead of these trashy ring rats."
"Worst part is," Steph cut in, pointing a French manicured finger at him, "they aren't even WWE level rats... They're like Indy rats. We're only looking out for you little brother."
"It's time to put on your big boy pants and find a real girl," Allie huffed, folding her arms across her chest.
"It wouldn't matter," Sami pouted, folding his arms as well. "No one will ever be good enough in your eyes!"
"That's a bunch of bullshit," Steph snapped, making him wince. "We liked Chrissy... But you fucked that one up, Romeo."
"Yea, and with all people?!" Allie dramatically cringed, making the group around them laugh. "Havok? She looks like she tried to dress up as me for Halloween, but got mugged, hit by a truck, and got attacked by a weed eater on the way to the party."
"Imitation is the best form of flattery," Steph laughed, teasingly.
"Eww," Allie blanched, "I mean I'm sure she's a nice girl and all... Oh wait, no she isn't. She's a bitch."
"Actually, I'm pretty sure she just hates you," Steph snickered, nudging Allie. "Can't say I really blame her though."
"She totally deserved it!"
"Wait, deserved what?" Jon said from behind them, making the other three turn to face the others. Allie gave Jon an innocent smile, making him raise an eyebrow at her. "Allie? What'd you do to Jessicka?"
"Ummm..." Allie stalled, biting her lip.
"She beat the piss out of her," Steph cut in, only to eager to share the information. "One of the funniest things I've ever seen."
"You watched it happen and didn't do anything?" Joe asked his fiancé in surprise. Steph was usually the more level headed of the two and it was surprising that she did nothing during the confrontation.
"We're getting off topic here," she said as she and Allie turned back to Sami and raised a finger in his direction again. However before either could get a word out yet were interrupted by Jon.
"Stop," he said making them lower their fingers. "Turn," he chuckled as the girls turned to face them with their heads lowered. "Explain."
"It was Sami's fault!" They both exclaimed at the same time.
"Whoa!" Sami yelled, raising his hands defensively and pointing at the girls. "Don't blame your hormonal rages on me!"
"You're the one who couldn't keep it in your pants!" Steph exclaimed, at the same time Allie yelled, "You cheated on Chrissy!"
"Hey!" Jon's voice cut in again, making them turn to him. Jon was fighting to keep the smile off his face as he beckoned his girlfriend over to him. "You. Come here."
Allie's shoulders dropped as she made her way over to Jon. He gave her an expectant look as he waited for her to explain. Allie heaved a sigh before she went off on a rant.
"So, Sami's a slut." She began, with a 'Hey!' yelled in the background, but she ignored it as she continued. "But we all know that." 'Bitch.' "Anyway, Sami cheated on Chrissy with Jessicka and who knows how may more women. Normally I wouldn't have gotten involved, but Chrissy called me crying one day and told me that she didn't know what to do, because Jessicka was going around bragging about how she had nailed Sami. She was telling everyone how pathetic Chrissy was and that she couldn't believe that Sami hadn't cheated on her sooner."
Allie could see the flash of sympathy in Jon's eyes, knowing that he and Chrissy were still good friends as well. She was sure hearing how hurt his friend had been was having an affect on him.
"So I kind of let my anger get the best of me and wanted to defend my friend. As Steph so eloquently put, the next time I saw her and heard her running her mouth, I 'beat the piss out of her'."
"Babe," Jon sighed, shaking his head.
"Hey, I know it takes two to cheat," Allie said holding up her hands in defense. "So I beat him up too just to even it all out," she said thumbing back in Sami's direction, making Jon laugh. "He's just lucky he's like my little brother and I love him so damn much. He got off easy." She glanced back at Sami giving him an evil eye, before turning back to Jon.
"Fair enough," Jon smirked, wrapping an arm around her. "But for now, can we just enjoy the rest of our day and not spend it verbally bashing each other?"
"Ok."
Allie turned her attention towards her phone when it suddenly started blaring from across the room. Jon groaned loudly behind her, then growled lowly when Allie attempted to climb out of bed to retrieve her phone. She giggled, turning over to see the sleepy face of Jon half buried in his pillow.
"Did you just growl at me?" She asked, brushing his messy blonde hair out of his eyes. "I thought I was the grumpy one."
"'m sleepy," Jon grumbled out with a raspy sleepy voice, as his eyes fought to stay open. Jon in all reality was no more a morning person than she was, but he usually was slightly more personable in the morning. He pulled her flush against him and rested his forehead against her chest.
As she ran her fingers through his soft curls, she heard and felt him mumble against her chest. Pulling away slightly to try and see his face, he only pulled her tighter, making her laugh. "What are you muttering down there?"
Jon turned his head to the side, but kept it against her chest. "Pillows are comfy. You have the perfect tits baby." Allie busted into laughter making Jon smile and laugh as well.
"Thanks. I think," Allie said, as she continued to thread her fingers through his hair. "Can I go check my phone now?"
"No," he answered, nuzzling into her. "I'm too comfy."
"I'll be right back," she chuckled, as she untangled herself from him, much to Jon's discontent. She climbed out of bed and watched as he dramatically groaned and face planted into the pillows. "Such a drama queen."
When Allie reached her phone, she tapped the screen and was surprised and confused at the name that appeared. She slid the bar over to unlock her phone as she walked back to the bed and plopped down next to Jon.
"Who was it?" He asked, peering down at the screen and raised his eyebrows in surprise when he saw the name on her voicemail log. He blinked trying to clear his sleep fogged eyes, before looking up at her face and seeing confusion. "You know him?"
"I haven't talked to him in months," Allie said, glancing over at Jon. "We always seem to miss each other at the arena and he's never really around Punk all that much anymore."
"You two have beef or something?" He asked sitting up next to her and leaning against the headboard.
"No, actually," she smirked at him. "I'm very much in his good graces. Not everyone can say they're a Paul Heyman girl... But I can."
Jon raised his eyebrows again in surprise, then chuckled as he pulled her into his side. She tapped the screen to trigger the message to play and put it on speaker phone.
'Ms. Miles, this is Paul Heyman. I'm an advocate for several members of our active talent, including the voice of the voiceless.'
Allie rolled her eyes dramatically making Jon laugh, as they waited for him to continue.
'First of all I wanted to discuss with you how completely disappointed I am that you can't seem to find the time to call an old man and say hello. I guess you're just to busy running around with those young bucks now and just can't seem to be bothered.'
Allie scoffed jokingly when he ceased talking again. "You never call either, old man."
'Now, I was informed after your overly dramatic and flamboyant return'
"Don't be jealous, Paul."
'Although, knowing you, who's surprised, that you and your new boy toys have taken a vacation. Once again, personally knowing how vein you are, it didn't surprise me that you felt you deserved a vacation after one night of being back in the spotlight... And you didn't even wrestle. You simply ran your petulant and arrogant mouth and then disappeared, leaving corporate to field all the media and BS you left behind... Young lady... I've never been more proud of you.'
Allie and Jon laughed loudly at his words. Oh, how Allie missed her Paulrus.
'That being said, you little brat, you better call me ASAP. I have some important things to talk with you about... Enjoy what's left of your vacation. Love you.'
"So I guess he's just as much a fan of you, as you are of him," Jon chuckled, as she scrolled through her contacts.
"You don't become a Heyman guy or girl, unless he thinks you're worth the hassle," Allie smirked, as she clicked on Paul's name in her contacts and turning on the speaker phone. "Unfortunately for him, he taught me too well."
Jon snickered as the phone rang in Allie's hand, waiting for Paul to answer the phone. "Well, well, well... If it isn't the Princess of Darkness. I feel so honored to be speaking to demonic royalty."
"I'm kind of offended Paul," Allie snarked into the phone with a low evil chuckle. "Petulant, arrogant, and vein were the best you could come up with?"
"I didn't think your ego needed anymore stroking, your majesty," Paul responded back equally snarky, before his tone turned genuine and father-like. "How's Orlando?"
"Beautiful, as always," Allie smiled into the phone thinking about the last week. "It's been to long since I've been here for anything other than business."
"Even the Anti-Diva deserves an occasional vacation," Paul chuckled, then turned the conversation to recent events. "So, Hunter called me. He wants me to find out who you intend to honor with the first media interview."
"We're in Chicago on Monday right?" Allie asked, looking towards Jon, who nodded as Paul answered with an affirmative. "Well then, there's only one option for me then."
"Who?" Paul asked confused.
"Cabana."
"Are you trying to give Hunter a coronary?" Paul barked out with laughter. "He's gonna shit and have a bird all at the same time, Al."
"So?" She asked, shrugging indifferently. "They want media appearances? He's my first interview, after that I don't care who I interview with."
"Well, I'm sure Scott will be ecstatic," Paul answered, still highly amused. "I'll give him a call. Punk may want in on this too."
"Make it happen. See if he's willing to do an off the cuff live interview," Allie beamed at Jon, who just laughed.
"Alright," he answered, sounding serious. "The other thing is I want to get together with you when you get back. I have a few things I wanna talk to you about."
"Sounds serious," Allie's tone turning to a serious one as well.
"To an extent it is," Paul said, almost sounding hesitant and distracted. "Don't think on it too much. Enjoy the rest of your vacation and just give me a call when you get back, ok?"
"... Sure thing, Paul," Allie answered, extremely confused and a little worried. "I guess I'll talk to you soon."
"Alright, my dear," Paul spoke, trying to sound slightly brighter. "Love you."
"Love you too, Paul," Allie answered, before disconnecting the call and turning to Jon with a worried look.
"What was that about?" He asked, just as confused.
"I don't know."
Meanwhile-
"Do you think this is the right thing to do, Paul?" The man sitting across from him asked, a deep concern in his voice. "This won't do her any favors. In reality, I feel like it's only going to make her a bigger target. She won't know who her real friends are anymore."
"Yes she will," Paul answered confidently. "The same people who have been in her corner all along." Paul sighed heavily, before continuing. "I can't hide it from her anymore, Mark."
"I'm glad you told me," Mark nodded, "but this worries me. Rook has so much to worry about right now. I hate to put her through more."
"That's why we'll be there for her," Paul responded, then gesturing to his phone. "Should I call Williams and Borden? I assume you'll talk to Glenn. She gonna need all the support she can get."
Mark nodded, before running a hand over his face. "I still can't believe this Paul. What are the fucking odds?"
"One in seven billion."
Later that night, after hitting all their favorite attractions at all the parks, the group had decided to spend their last night with dinner and dancing at Downtown Disney.
After dinner, before they headed to one of the clubs that was on Pleasure Island, Allie pulled Jon into a nearby shop.
"Wow," Jon said, taking a quick look around the shop. "Disney has a Harley store? This is awesome."
Allie smiled, taking his hand and pulling him over to the section where all the jackets were on display. Turning to him to grinned broadly and motioned to the jackets. "Pick one."
"What?" He asked her in confused surprise.
"Pick one," Allie stated again. She saw Jon getting ready to dispute and cut him off quickly. "Come on, baby. It's my vacation gift to you. Please? Just pick one."
Jon smirked down at her, before leaning forward and giving her a gentle kiss. Pulling back, he wrapped an arm around her shoulders and walked them towards the jackets. "Ok, but you have to help me pick one."
They had ended up at one of the clubs on Pleasure Island drinking and having a great night. Allie had managed to get Jon on the dance floor and they were currently out there with Joe and Steph and Colby and Leighla. Sami had disappeared into the crowd heading to the bar to buy their next rounds.
Suddenly the DJ had started playing some salsa music. Allie thought it would be a good time to take a break.
"Wanna go get a drink?" She asked Jon as the others, started into the crowd.
"Nope," he answered surprising her and taking her hand, wiggling his finger at her to walk towards him. He grinned devilishly at her, as he pulled her against, before spinning her around.
Allie was in shock when he began pulling off some very shocking salsa dancing. "Where the hell did this come from?"
"Don't you think it's kind of unfair to assume I don't like or know how to dance?" Jon grinned at her, making her laugh as he continued to spin her around the dance floor.
"You never cease to amaze me," she said as the music changed and Jon kept her hand in his as he lead her off the floor.
"Always expect the unexpected from me, baby," Jon breathed into her ear making her shiver in excitement.
After joining the rest of the group and enjoying a few more drinks, they headed back to the hotel. Jon held her hand and they followed behind the group a little ways back.
"So, I've been thinking," Allie said, pulling Jon from his thoughts. "How committed are you to Vegas?"
Jon stopped them and looked at her, watching a blush rise to her face. "What do you mean?"
"Well, you don't have to answer me right now," she said, fidgeting slightly, making him smile, "and I know we haven't been together all that long, but how do you feel about... possibly moving to Pittsburgh?"
"Moving closer to you, you mean?" He asked giving her a confused look.
"Not exactly," she answered looking down for a minute, before meeting his eyes. "I was wondering if you would, maybe, like to move in with me?"
Jon gazed at her for several minutes and Allie was getting slightly nervous and beginning to regret asking, thinking Jon wasn't ready for them to take that step. After several long minutes, Jon stooped down and lifted her up and pressed her against his chest.
"When can I move in?" He asked as his face broke out into a wide grin.
Allie sighed in relief and laughed breathily, feeling the weight lift off her shoulders. "As soon as you want to, my love."
"I'll call my leasing agent tomorrow," he said, before swooping in and kissing her deeply. Pulling back he pressed his forehead against her and chuckled happily. "I'm moving in with my baby."
Allie giggled, kissing him again, before they separated and walked to rejoin the group, their fingers laced firmly together and bright smiles on their faces.
Colt: Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to this special live broadcast of The Art of Wrestling. My next guest needs absolutely no introduction if you have any wrestling history knowledge and have been paying attention to current events. This has been major breaking news in the wrestling world. I mean everything from the Indy scene to the main stage of the WWE has just been buzzing for the last week and it's all because of the lovely lady I have in studio with me right now.
After their vacation, the group, minus Sami, headed straight to Chicago where Allie was currently sitting in the Cabana Compound. She was excited to see him and to interview with him about the recent events. She and Scott had always been good friends and there was no one she'd rather do this with.
Allie: Oh boy." (Female laughing) "I don't know about the 'lovely lady' part Colt.
Colt: Ladies and gentlemen! The woman who knocked the pro wrestling world on its ass last week. She is a 2 time Tag Team Champion, a former United States Champion, and a former Cruiserweight Champion. The original Anti-Diva. The Devil Child. The Princess of Darkness. The Allie Kat.
Allie: Hello, world.
C: First of all, did I get all the nicknames?
A: I think you covered them.
C: You know what, I'm still reeling from last week. I can't believe you're back!
A: You know, it feels really surreal to be back. Being out of the game for so long and then suddenly being thrusted back into it, it just seems like a dream.
C: So what have you been up to since the last time we saw you? It's been what? 7 years, since you were in a WWE ring? What's the Anti-Diva been up to?
A: Actually, I've been closer than you think. Before my return, I'd been working as a talent scout and a senior member of talent relations and creative for WWE. That's actually taken up most of my time over the last couple years. Now that I'm back in the ring, I'll be taking a lot of that off my plate for a while. My main focus will be The Shield and a few rookies down in developmental.
C: That's right you guys just recently signed Sami Callihan, right?
A: Yep, we signed Sami about 2 months ago. He's been a big player on the Indy scene for several years now and we've had our eye on him. He's been down in developmental for a couple weeks and has been rocking the house down there. He was a major gain for the company and we're excited about his career.
C: So, let's take a minute to talk about some background on you. You're known for your time working with The Undertaker, Kane, and Paul Bearer. That's really where, most people would say, that you laid your foundation and it was your launching pad for the tremendous career that you've had. Would you agree with that?
A: I would completely agree with that. Mark, Glenn, and Bill took a big chance on me and I was given many opportunities that a lot of others may not be given. I listened, I watched, and I learned from three of wrestling's geniuses. I use to call them the three wise men. (Giggling) I was given an education in this business in a way that a lot of people would love to have. I took the tools they gave me and did the best I could with them.
C: The Undertaker isn't really well known for his time spent with training female talent. Your relationship with The Undertaker is a unique one and a lot of people say he has a soft spot for you. What's your take on that?
A: (Laughs) Taker having a soft spot for anything is an interesting description for the guy we call the Dead Man, but I would say our relationship is definitely unique. Mark found me on the Indy circuit wrestling for this promotion in Pittsburgh. It wasn't a hole in the wall, but it wasn't the WWE. (Laughs) I'll never forget that day. He was and still is the most influential person in my career. He's my mentor and he went to bat for me. I've always lovingly called him Sensei and he may roll his eyes every time I say it, but he deals with it because he knows it's my special way of showing him how important he is to me. It's been, what, 7 or 8 years and he still calls me Rookie. He's not just a teacher and one of the three wise men to me. He's also a best friend and a second father. He'll rib me for being so mushy, but I owe my career to him and I love him. There is a special place in my heart reserved for the Dead Man. (Smiles)
C: Now it seems as though you've carried on the tradition. (Allie smiles, knowingly) The wrestling world has been rocked over the last several months by this group of radicals that came out of nowhere. Three singles competitors that came from developmental and formed this cohesive unit that have done nothing but dominate. We've never seen a faction like this before and now we find out that you're actually the brainchild of this group. How does it feel to be responsible for that?
A: Ooooohh... The Shield. (She smiles and sighs deeply) Every fangirls dream. (Laughs) The Juggernaut Roman Reigns, The Architect Seth Rollins, and The Lunatic Fringe Dean Ambrose are without a doubt the greatest faction the wrestling world has ever seen. The truth is, what you see on screen is 100% them. I keep telling them that I may have selected them and I may have come up with the gimmick, the apparel and the music, but they made the Shield the success it is. Having three extremely well rounded wrestlers, come together and flip, not just this company, but the entire industry, ass over teacups is not something that can be written into a script. They're three very different wrestlers, from three very different worlds, but they've had this amazing chemistry since day one. You just don't see that anymore. You just don't see a faction, that was literally thrown together, able to build a bond and a genuinely functioning work relationship like they have. It's almost impossible for me to express how impressed with and proud I am of them everyday. I truly believe they are the future of this company and I'm here to make sure they achieve everything they've ever dreamed of.
C: Wouldn't some people say that's showing favoritism? Taking and evolving only the three wrestlers that you hand picked and signed seems like your playing favorites.
A: (Shrugs) And maybe I am, but I was also the one who created this monster and I'll be damned if anyone else sees it through. I'm dedicated to Dean, Seth, and Roman and their careers, which I feel I owe to them. I'm not going to sign them, hand them a gimmick, and kick them out the office door wishing them good luck. I wasn't treated that way and I'm sure as hell not going to treat anyone else that way. They're my team and it's ride or die for us. All of us.
C: There have been some rumors and some rather incriminating pictures that indicate that you and Dean Ambrose are more than just business associates. Any truth to that? And how does that affect your ability to stay unbiased when it comes to the The Shield members as individuals?
A: My relationship with The Shield is purely professional and that includes Dean. When we're working, it's work. My personal life is my business and Dean's personal life is his business.
C: That's it? That's all I'm getting? (Laughs)
A: (Big mysterious grin) That's all you're getting.
C: Alright, well can you at least do me a solid?
A: What's that?
C: I need to get Ambrose on my show. Anyway you can make that happen?
A: (Laughing) Ambrose and the boys are pretty busy, but I'm sure we can make that happen. Dean would love to do it, I'm sure.
C: Maybe we can get the two of you on here together. That would be cool.
A: We'll see what we can do.
C: Awesome. So what's can we expect to see from The Shield and from you in the upcoming weeks? Storylines look like they're gonna be heating up.
A: You can always expect high intensity and excitement from The Shield. As far as storylines, you'll just have to stay tuned and find out. I know the guys play a lot of that off the cuff and I've always worked the same way. We'll have a rough idea of what we want to happen going into a segment, but the end result usually ends up going another direction. Spontaneity is a trait that runs amongst us as well. I think you can except a lot of fun, crazy and intense matches and segments going forward.
C: Well I, for one, am really excited to see how the four of you work as a team and I can't wait to see Raw tonight when you guys return. I'm sure many others feel the same way.
A: With The Shield leading the way, the future is really bright for the WWE. I'm excited to be a part of it and to be able to help guide them. I have an amazing group of superstars to mentor and they have an amazing support system from, not just myself, but guys like Mark, Glenn, Hunter, and many others. They are going to get a similar education to the one I had and they are willing and eager to learn what they can. The future is now and the future is The Shield.
C: Well thank you so much for joining us and giving us the first official interview. It's been awesome and I hope to have you back soon.
A: Thank you! It's been fun hanging with you at the Cabana Compound. I'd love to come back and maybe I'll bring the guys with me next time.
C: That'd be awesome! Thank you everyone for joining Allie and myself on this special episode of The Art of Wrestling. We'll see you next time!
After spending some time with Scott and Punk, who had shown up after the podcast, she left to join up with Paul for lunch before she had to be at the arena. Walking into the restaurant, she saw Paul sitting at booth in the back, but he wasn't alone. Approaching the table, she gave a confused look as the four men stood to greet her.
"Ms. Miles," Paul greeted her, placing a kiss to her cheek that she returned with a greeting of her own, while keeping her eyes on the other three men.
"Hey Rookie," Mark said as she approached him and greeted him with a hug and kiss.
"I wasn't expecting to see you," she answered, before looking towards the others. "And I definitely didn't expect to see you two."
The other two men stepped forward and took turns embracing her in tight well reviewed hugs. It had been quite a while since Allie had seen the men standing before her. Steve Williams, better known as Stone Cold Steve Austin and Steve Borden, better know as Sting were a sight for sore eyes.
"I've missed you both," Allie beamed at them, before joining them all in the booth. "But, why are you here? What going on guys?"
The men looked amongst each other for a moment, before Paul suggested they all order and eat lunch. Allie let the issue drop for a moment, but felt her heart thumping in nervousness and couldn't help wishing she had Jon with her.
After they had eaten, Paul turned to her and gave her a hesitant smile. "I asked them to join us, because in all honestly I wasn't sure how this conversation was going to go and I thought having some friends around would help."
"What's going on, Paul?" She asked him before glancing over to her security blanket, Mark, and giving him a worried look.
"There is something you need to know," Paul began with a sigh. "There's some information that I've been withholding from you that I simply can't anymore. Before I say anything else, I want to apologize for keeping it from you this and I hope you'll understand that I hated every moment of it. Mark, Steve and Austin didn't know until recently when I told them I was going to tell you. I don't want you to think they've been hiding anything from you either."
"Paul," Allie husked out, her heart felt like it was going to beat out of her chest. "You're scaring me. Please, tell me what's going on."
"Twenty-six years ago I was told a secret," he said taking her hand. "I was asked to help cover up and hide this secret and it has haunted me since then. At the time, I didn't realize how much that decision would impact my life, personally and professionally."
Allie looked at him, the confusion clouded her face as she tried to understand his cryptic tale. She swallowed harshly as his hand tightened on hers and he continued to speak.
"Twenty-eight years ago, a member of WWE had a child out of wedlock. Two years later, it was brought to his attention when the mother had brought the child to an arena, abandoning the child and leaving the child in the father's care. I was working for WCW at the time and I was asked to make the child disappear, because he couldn't have anyone in his family or the WWE, finding out this child was his."
"He told me he was bringing the child to me and he didn't care how I made the child disappear, just that I did. The next day I met him and the most adorable blue eyed, blonde haired, two year old little girl." Allie swallowed harshly and felt her heart drop when Paul's hand tightened even more and his eyes made direct contact with hers.
"P-Paul?" Allie rasped out, her throat closing up on her. "A-are you trying to say-"
"The little girl was you, Allie," he said as gently as he could. His heart breaking at the look in her eyes. A look of confusion, disbelief, and heartache. He struggled to continue on, unsure if she was still listening. "I took you home with me and a few days later was able to find a military family that had just moved back to the continental US from Hawaii. They eagerly took you in and raised you as their own. I kept in touch with them to keep up with how you were adjusting and then I kept in touch just to hear how well you were growing. They sent me a school picture every year and always called me to tell me how well you were doing in school. I was so proud of you."
"When they told me you had fallen in love with wrestling, I never dreamed that you would find your way into it," Paul said, trying to get Allie to focus on him, but she just seemed to be looking through him. "Even when they called and told me that you had joined the independent circuit, I never thought you'd make it to the big leagues. That's a one in a million shot and that would have been unbelievable. Then all of a sudden Mark's telling us about this little spitfire that's running circles around the other talent on the Indy circuit and how much he wants to bring her on."
"The next thing I know, I'm staring into the same blue eyes that I had stared into 18 years prior. This innocent child had found her way back, unknowingly, into the same world who had made her disappear out of embarrassment," Paul stopped speaking when he saw the tears begin to fill Allie's eyes.
"My entire life has been a lie," Allie said brokenheartedly. "Everything I grew up believing isn't true. Where I was born. Who my parents are. Who my sister is. Who my entire family is. My name... I don't know who I am anymore. How can I be someone one minute and be a complete mystery the next?"
"You're family is still your family, Kid," Mark's calm voice spoke up, pulling her attention to him. "They raised you and they love you. They provided for you and supported you. They are your family."
"They lied to me," she argued. "They made me believe that I was their child, biologically. They could have told me I was adopted."
"They were protecting you," Paul said, keeping his grip on her hand.
"From what?" She snapped out, using her free hand to wipe angrily at her eyes.
"From you wanting to find out the truth," Paul answered calmly. "I know, as well as they do, that you would have wanted to go looking for answers. You would have gone looking for people who didn't want you in their life and did what they could to remove you from it. They were protecting you from getting hurt."
Allie knew Paul was right. She would have gone looking for answers, especially in her rebellious teenage years when she thought she knew everything. She wouldn't have listened and would have probably evaded up hurt. She wasn't her teenage self anymore, but that didn't mean that she didn't want answers.
Looking at Paul, she sniffed slight before speaking firmly and angrily. "Who are they?"
"Allie," Austin spoke up for the first time, speaking firmly to her. "I don't think-"
"I think I have every right to know who the assholes are that would abandon a child they created just because they couldn't deal with the shame," she argued back. Steve went to say something else, but stopped knowing she was right. She did have a right to know. She turned back to Paul and her eyes pleaded with him. "Tell me Paul."
Paul cleared his throat before hesitantly speaking. "Your mother was a rat from Jersey that your father had an ongoing affair with until you were born. He refused to be responsible for you and told her that he wanted nothing to do with either of you. After he meal ticket walked away she struggled for two years, before finally giving up and leaving you at an arena."
"What about him?" Allie grumbled angrily. "Who is he?"
Paul sighed heavily, looking at everyone around the table while trying to find the best way to answer that question. Finally deciding the best way was just to come right out and say it, he wrapped his free arm around her and pulled her into his side, keeping his eyes locked on hers.
"Allie, you're father is..."
A/N: I know! I'm such a bitch right? I make you wait a month for an update and then leave you with this cliffhanger... Gimme your thoughts on this chapter and guesses on who the douchebag father is... I'd love to hear your opinions and ideas.
I wanna thank you all for you love! I can believe I have over 100 followers and closing in on the same in favorites. Make my heart flutter seeing how many of you are enjoying this! Leave me a review!
Also, I'm still a decent ways off from finishing this fic, but I have a new one in mind already. If you go to my stories page and look for When You Say Nothing At All, I was thinking about redoing that one and continuing it with new characters. It's like Romeo and Juliet/West Side Story meets WWE. Let me know what you think.
Ps: Dean's back! Oh how I've missed my motivation for writing this fic! Feels so good to see his beautiful face on my tv again!
