Chapter 31:

Jon for the first time in his life felt as if he was cornered by a predator that he didn't stand a chance against. He had faced some pretty scary and intimidating things during his time in the indies and he had never allowed those things to psych him out. But being circled like prey by the overprotective best friend, practically sister, of your girlfriend who had just taken off after you let your worry and anger get the best of you, was one of the scariest things a man can experience. Especially, when that best friend is a not opposed to beating the shit out of a man and leaving him to suffer. And even more so, when that best friend is one of the original Anti-Divas of professional wrestling.

To say that Steph was a little angry when the three men returned to the hotel room was a drastic understatement. Upon her return to the room, she had been surprised to see Nikki standing inside looking rather at a loss and was quickly informed about the situation. She could feel her blood boiling at the information about Cena, but felt it run cold when Nikki had explained about what happened between Allie and Jon. When the door opened revealing the frantic Jon and the worried and frustrated Joe and Colby, Steph jumped on the them quickly with questions.

After finding out that Allie had fled, Steph's face went from disbelief, to anger, to worry in a matter of seconds. Nikki, feeling like this was now a family matter, left the room, while the others watched as Steph paced back and forth on her phone, waiting for the inevitable tongue lashing Jon had coming. She stopped suddenly, hanging up the phone and looked at Jon with a look of utter confusion and desperation.

"Why?" She asked him almost pleadingly. "What the hell were you thinking, Jon?"

Jon sighed and rubbed his hands over his face. "Cena has me so fucked up right now and when I turned around and she was gone, it scared the hell out of me." Jon's frustration with himself was beginning to shine through as he swallowed down the bike that rose in his throat from the disgust he felt with himself. "When I saw her on the balcony, I was so quick to lash out at her for disappearing that I didn't even think about what I was saying."

Steph sighed loudly and ran a hand through her hair. "I know you're worried. We all are, but you know how she is when she feels like she's being attacked. Especially when it's someone she loves that's jumping on her about something."

"I just don't want anything to happen to her," Jon said sadly. "I would never forgive myself if something happened to her. It's my job to protect her now."

Their attention was all redirected to Colby when his phone started sounding. Looking down at his phone he saw it was a text from Leighla. "It's Leighla." Taking a moment to read it, he spoke again. "She says Allie just called her and asked her to watch Mox for her."

"Did she say where she was going?" Steph asked eagerly, Jon's attention perking up, hoping Allie was ok.

"Home," Colby answered after he received an answer from his girlfriend. "I guess she's headed for her house."

"No," Steph answered with a shake of her head and a knowing smile. "There's only one place that's 'home'." The others looked at Steph confused. "She's going to Papa Miles' house."

"Her dad?" Jon asked in confirmation, getting to his feet. Steph answered with a nod, before she and Jon both took off for their rooms to pack their bags.

"I guess we're Pittsburgh bound," Joe said to Colby with a smile. "You coming?"

"Our baby sister is gonna need us," Colby nodded with a smile. "I'll let Leighla know." With that the other two headed to pack as well before the group took off for the airport.

After a long internal debate and a call to Leighla informing her about the situation and asking if she would mind puppy sitting, Allie had dragged herself onto the first plane to Pittsburgh. She had struggled after getting off the flight, trying to decide if she should stop at her house first or head to one of her destinations.

Biting the bullet, she had decide on the later and currently found herself sitting in the driveway of her father's house. Her dad was a retired veteran of the Air Force and even though, because of that, she and her sister had grown up in a strict household, he had always been the parent she was closest to. Sighing heavily, she turned the ignition off and got out of the car.

She walked slowly up the walkway, but startled to a stop when the front door suddenly opened and she was greeted with the playful smile of her younger sister, Jessie.

"I was wondering how long you were gonna sit in the car before you dragged your ass in here," Jessie badgered her. Allie couldn't help the smirk that crossed her face as she walked up to her sister and embraced her in a tight hug.

"What are you doing here?" Allie asked as they pulled back, matching the playful banter. "Don't you live in warmer climates now?"

"Yea, well, when you get several phone calls from your frantic parents about how your older sister was just told she was adopted and isn't taking their calls," she began, pulling Allie into the house and shutting the door. "It kind of threw up signals that maybe I should get home and try to bring everyone back down to ground level."

"So they told you?" Allie asked with a sigh.

"How could they not?" Jessie shrugged. "They called to ask if I heard from you and after the fifth phone call in 3 hours they kind of had to give up the goat."

"And?" Allie asked looking at her sister expectantly.

"And what?" Jessie asked confused. "Yea I was shocked, but you're still my sister. There isn't a memory you aren't a part of. We were raised believing we're sisters and that sure as hell isn't going to change now just because we found out you were adopted. Genetics doesn't make us sisters. Thought you would've realized that with Steph."

Allie smirked and nodded. "Yea, I guess you're right."

"Pfft, I'm always right. I'm the genius of the family, remember?" Jessie snarked, before she continued. "And the same thing goes for Mom and Dad. Just because you found out they aren't your birth parents, doesn't mean they aren't your parents. They raised you, provided for you, and loved you your entire life. A small matter of bloodline doesn't change that."

"They should have told me," Allie argued halfheartedly.

"Yea, maybe," Jessie answered, pushing her sister towards the stairs that lead up to the main area of the house. "But I'm sure they had their reasons. Good thing they're both here to explain."

Allie stopped and spun around, wide eyed. "They're both here?" She spoke in a harsh whisper. "I wasn't ready for both."

"Two birds, one stone," Jessie said simply, pushing at Allie to get her moving. Allie went to argue, but was cut off and pushed harder. "Shut up and get your ass up there. I'm missing perfectly good Florida weather for this b.s."

Allie trudged up the stairs through the living room and entered into her father's large kitchen. She immediately met the surprised and relieved eyes of her parents who were standing on the opposite side of the kitchen.

"Alicia," her father's relieved voice called out as he moved towards her. Allie couldn't help the tears that slipped down her cheeks as her father wrapped her in a tight hug. "I'm so sorry, Leash."

"Why didn't you tell me?" Allie murmured into her father's shoulder. She felt him sigh and then pulled back to look at her.

"We just wanted to protect you," he answered, his voice full of regret. "We knew you'd want to find out who your biological parents were. Knowing the kind of people they were, we didn't want to see you end up hurt and head down a bad path because the people responsible for your existence didn't want you."

"We also didn't want it to affect your relationship with your sister and have it start an unnecessary sibling rivalry," her mother spoke up, stepping up beside them. She hugged her oldest daughter tightly, before pulling back.

"Don't you think you should have had a little more faith in us?" Her sister cut in, her tone clearly annoyed. "We didn't always get along, but what siblings do? Neither of us were or are malicious. You didn't raise us that way."

"You're right," their father nodded. "We never should have hidden it from you, but it was done with your best interests in mind. We're so sorry you had to find out from anyone but us."

"I'm still trying to wrap my head around this whole thing," Allie said shaking her head and taking a step back. "It just seems so unreal."

"I know," her mother nodded in understanding. "I can only imagine trying to take all this in, but we're for you. Nothing changes. You have been and always will be our daughter."

"Thanks, Mom," she responded giving them both a small smile. "I guess I should go get settled and I need to call my bosses and let them know why I won't be at the show tonight."

"Come on," Jessie said, turning her back towards the stairs. "I'll help you get your stuff."

Once they had gathered all of Allie's luggage, the two sisters made their way up to her designated guest room. Jessie flopped back on the bed, while Allie called Stephanie to inform her of the situation, but wasn't surprised when she said she had already been brought up to date. After promising to keep her updated, Allie hung up the phone and flopped down on the bed next to her sister.

"So where's my other sister and Prince Charming?" Jessie asked rolling her head to the side to look at her sister. Allie heaved a sigh before filling her in on the events that had transpired leading up to her impromptu arrival at her father's house. "So you just left him standing in the middle of the road?"

"Yea," Allie sighed, rubbing her fingers back and forth across her forehead in frustration.

"Geez, you always did have a taste for the overly dramatic reactions," Jessie tsked at her.

"What?" Allie asked turning her head and giving her sister a offended look.

"The man was just scared out of his mind that something happened to you," Jessie explained in an annoyed tone. "Yea he may have overreacted, but you just made it worse by running. The poor guy is probably having a freaking coronary. Did you at least let him know you were here?"

Allie could only muster an embarrassed shake of her head, earning a groan of disapproval from her sister. "I'll call him." Allie relented, now feeling like she may have overreacted slightly even though Jon had been an ass. Running away hadn't been the answer. She needed to stop running away every time something went wrong.

"Not right now you won't," Jessie said rolling to her feet and pulling Allie up. "I'm hungry. You can call him later. I'm pretty sure that Mom and Dad are feeling guilty enough that we can talk them into taking us out to breakfast."

"I can't believe you're using this situation as a chance to get free food," Allie laughed at her sister. "Plus, it's really freaking early and I've had zero sleep."

"So?" Jessie asked with a shrug as they headed for the stairs. Allie could only laugh and shake her head as she followed behind her sister. "Heeeyyyyy Daaaaddd?"

A couple hours later, Allie, her sister and her dad returned to the house after saying goodbye to her mother, who returned to her own house. Jessie was the first out of the car in the garage and made her way to the door. Opening it and stepping one foot inside, she paused, then stepped back and shut the door.

Turning to her sister with a wide grin on her, earning a confused look and a raised eyebrow from Allie. Jessie motioned towards the door and shrugged, "it's for you." Allie's brow furrowed in deeper confusion as she stepped around her sister and reached for the door. "Dad and I will take the back stairs."

Opening it and stepping inside, she stopped in her tracks at the site of the figure before her. Oceanic blue eyes met sapphire as the man before her let out a relieved sigh and scratched the small dog in his arms behind the ears.

"See," his calm voice spoke to the now excited puppy. "I told you Mommy would be here."

Allie watched as Jon set Moxley down and the puppy scampered over to her. She smiled as she couched down and picked him up in her arms. She spoke softly to him and gave him kisses on his little head. "I've missed you, buddy."

Looking back up at Jon, they were both silent for a moment, neither knowing what to say to the other. Allie bit her lip lightly, taking a couple steps towards him. "Hi."

"Hi," he answered, adjusting the black cap on his head, before stuffing his hands into the pockets of his Harley jacket.

"How'd you find me?" Allie asked him, as she set Moxley down and watched him scamper up the stairs.

"It really wasn't that hard," Jon spoke softly. "I had help of course, but there is nowhere on earth that you can go that I won't find you."

Allie swallowed the lump in her throat as her boyfriend stepped closer to her. She felt a tear slide down her cheek and saw the heartbreak in Jon's face as he followed it down her face. "I'm sorry I ran off," Allie whispered, holding back a sob.

"No," Jon whispered back, reaching out and catching the tear as it reached her jaw. Then he slid his hand around and cupped the back of her neck. "I'm sorry for the way I spoke to you. I was completely out of line and I never should have said the things I did."

"I'm scared, Jon," Allie admitted, wrapping her arms around his waist and laying her head against his chest. "I feel stupid for being scared of a psychotic pervert, but I am."

"I am too, baby," Jon answered, wrapping her tightly in his arms. "And that's why I acted the way did. I'm terrified something will happen to you. I need you to stick to me like glue from now on."

"Ok," she nodded against his chest. She felt Jon's hand come around and up underneath her chin, tilting her face up towards his. She let out a gentle sigh of content when he lowered his lips down to meet hers in a soft kiss.

"I love you, princess," he said pressing his forehead to hers when he pulled back.

"I love you too," Allie answered, before a thought occurred to her. "Wait. How did you get in here?"

"I snuck him in," a voice called from behind Jon. Looking around him, she saw the grinning faces of Steph, Joe, Colby, Jessie and her dad. Allie rolled her eyes as she blushed furiously.

"How long have you guys been there?" Allie asked in slight annoyance at the eavesdroppers.

"Ever since the awkward hello," Jessie stated bluntly, while scratching Moxley, who was nestled in Uncle Colby's arms, behind the ears. "Hi Jon. It's nice to finally meet you."

"You too, Jess," Jon chuckled, keeping his arms locked firmly around his girlfriend. He had spoken to several of her family members on the couple occasions when he had gotten to her phone before Allie had. So he knew many of them, but never gotten the chance to meet them in person.

"Dad," she said looking towards her, before turning to look at her boyfriend. "I'd like you to officially meet my boyfriend. This is-"

"Jonathan Good, sir," Jon spoke up, introducing himself to the older man with an extended right hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you."

Allie's father smiled and took Jon's hand, shaking it firmly. "Nice to meet you, Jon. Please call me, Rich," he said kindly. "I've heard a lot about you."

"Likewise," Jon smiled in return. "I'm sorry we've been unable to meet until now, but your daughter has kept us on a pretty tight schedule," he joked, earning a playful nudge from Allie.

"You need it to stay out of trouble," she joked back, before a deep yawn interrupted her. "Sorry. I'm exhausted. I'm sure you guys are too," she said to the other wrestlers in the room.

"Then you guys should get some sleep," Rich said, turning to Steph, Joe and Colby. "There's plenty of rooms upstairs, as you know Steph. Make yourselves at home."

"Thanks, Papa Miles," Steph smiled, before she and Jessie lead Joe and Colby upstairs towards the bedrooms.

"Go get some sleep, Leash," her dad said, when she stepped away from Jon to give him a hug. She nodded and she and Jon bid her dad goodnight, before heading upstairs themselves. They stopped in Colby's room to say goodnight to Moxley, who apparently decided he'd rather have a sleepover with Uncle Colby than spend the night with his parents.

After they were settled into bed and Allie was curled into Jon's side, he kissed her forehead gently, before speaking. "What were you and Nikki talking about when I walked out onto the balcony? After you ran off and I was replaying the incident over in my head, I realized how bewildered you looked when I first walked out."

"Oh," Allie replied, replaying the conversation with Nicole in her head. "Uh, she told me something else about Cena."

Allie felt Jon hold on her tighten as he grumbled out, "What was it?"

She sighed deeply, knowing that the information would only confuse and worry him further. "She told me that Cena's been talking a lot to Bob Orton."

"What?!" Jon hissed out in disbelief. "Are you kidding me?"

"Nicole didn't know the connection," Allie answered quickly. "She asked me if I had any connection to him other than knowing Randy, because he had been talking to him a lot. It doesn't mean that Cena knows."

"No, but that doesn't mean he doesn't either," Jon answered worriedly. "We don't need this on top of Cena and Orton."

"I know," Allie answered sadly. "That's why I wouldn't blame you if you didn't want the drama."

"What are you saying?" Jon looked at her in confusion.

"I think we both know what I'm saying, Jon," she answered, her eyes filling with tears.

"Are you out of your fucking mind?" Jon asked, but there was no malice or harshness behind it, only sadness. "Do I come off as a guy that would just abandon you when you needed me most, just to save myself the stress?" Allie shook her head and went to speak, but was cut off by Jon's gentle fingers against her lips. "When I tell you I love you, I don't say it because I'm suppose to. I say it because I feel it with every fiber of my being. I meant it when I told you I've never loved anyone the way I love you. You're my life now and I plan on spending every waking moment loving you and protecting you, because I want to and I need you in my life."

Allie threw herself at Jon and kissed him as deeply as she could trying to display everything she was feeling through that kiss. Jon kissed her back, matching her tenacity in showing every emotion felt. Pulling back, she husked out in between labored breaths, "I don't ever want to lose the feeling I have when I'm with you. I would never be the same without you, Jonathan Good. You've changed me for the better and I hope you realize that you're stuck with me, because I'm never going to give you up willingly."

"Good," he answered, pecking her lips again. "Because you'll never have to."
