"I said remember this moment
In the back of my mind
The time we stood with our shaking hands
The crowds in stands went wild
We were the kings and the queens
And they read off our names
The night you danced like you knew our lives
Would never be the same
You held your head like a hero
On a history book page
It was the end of a decade
But the start of an age"
5 months later - April 6, 2014
Steph and Allie were running full sprint across the arena parking lot towards the entrance for the backstage area. They were late and Vince was gonna kill them both if they didn't get their asses into the building.
As they got closer to the door, it suddenly swung open. They were greeted with a very annoyed and displeased looking Hunter, making them skid to a stop just short of tackling the man back inside the door.
"Seriously?" He grumbled at them. "Today?! Of all days to be late, you choose today?!"
"It's not like we planned it," Steph sasses back at him. "We got tied up at the signing. Next time don't let them book a signing so close to the event time."
"Watch it, Lex," Hunter growled at Steph. "You're both on thin ice as it is. You want me to cut you from the event all together?"
"That would be great!" Allie chimed in with a beaming smile.
"Not you, brat," Hunter snapped, making the smile fall from Allie's face. "You're in the main event. There's no backing out now."
"Like I would," she snipped at him. "I wouldn't actually do that to him." She then sighed running a hand through her black and purple hair. "I just hate this."
Hunter's face softened and waved them both inside before wrapping an arm around each of their shoulders. He walked them down the hallway as he did his best to reassure Allie of tonight's inevitable outcome.
"I know this is hard," he spoke kindly to her. "It's hard for any of us to believe. This is the night we never thought would happen, but it is and he chose you for a reason. You're his rookie and there is no one on this planet he'd rather pass his legacy onto."
She knew he was right, but it didn't make the reality any easier. She wished she could rewind the last 8 years and get back so much missed time with him. Then maybe it wouldn't hurt this much knowing that her mentor's wrestling career was coming to a close. If only she could slow time down.
Heaving a deep breath, she looked up at Hunter. How long before he walked away? At least he was connected corporately and she would see him semi-regularly. Everyone else was just gone, except for Shawn, Williams and Borden who were still rarities.
And then Punk. He walked away and Allie had been so mad at him, but understood all at the same time. On the few occasions they had spoken since he had assured her that he never blamed her. Allie had gone to bat for him on more than one occasion and the powers that be just neglected the warning signs.
And of course there was Glenn. How soon would he join them all? It just felt like everything thing she knew in this company was slowly disappearing. Gentle feminine fingers laced loosely with hers and she turned to look at Steph, who was offering an understanding smile.
Allie smiled back, then looked ahead as the three continued until they reached catering. Upon entering, Allie was met with the familiar faces of her family. She beamed as she saw Jon and her dad standing next to each other with wide smiles, her mom standing on the other side of her dad. Joe, Colby and Jessie all had warm smiles as the three approached.
Then, as if it was a freight train, it hit Allie. Even though everything she had known was slowly slipping away, she had no reason to worry, because she would be far from alone. She had her family. Her mom and dad. Her two sisters. Her new brothers. And of course, she had the love of her life.
As if knowing what was running through her mind, Jon stepped forward and took her left hand in his and placed a gentle kiss over her engagement ring. Pulling back, he looked in her eyes and with a vow that made her heart flutter, he set her at ease. "We've got you, princess."
Allie smiled and gave him a nod before turning her head to look at Hunter. "Ok. Let's do this."
"I said remember this feeling
I passed the pictures around
Of all the years that we stood there on the sidelines
Wishing for right now
We are the kings and the queens
You traded your baseball cap for a crown
When they gave us our trophies
And we held them up for our town
And the cynics were outraged
Screaming, "this is absurd"
'Cause for a moment a band of thieves
In ripped up jeans got to rule the world"
'We're running with the shadows of the night. So baby take my hand, it'll be alright. Surrender all your dreams to me tonight. They come true in the end.'
The crowd roared when the sound of a motorcycle revved in the dark arena and the single headlight appeared through the curtain. A single spotlight illuminated the rider as she began to make her way to the ring on her Orange County Chopper. Her tribute to the American Badass, while dressed in her Princess of Darkness attire.
After her ride around the ring, she parked the bike towards the bottom of the ramp, before climbing into the ring. She stood against the far turnbuckle as her music stopped and waited for her opponent.
Moments later, The Undertaker's funeral march began to play and The Deadman appeared. The arena, while roaring for The Phenom, felt the chills that were always felt when he made his haunting entrance.
Allie and Taker's eyes remained locked as he made his way slowly down the ramp and into the ring. The electric buzz through the arena was thick as the nervous tension flowed. This night was unpredictable as the mentor and the pupil faced off for the first time.
When the lights rose neither Allie nor Taker had moved or taken their eyes off each other. The crowd watched in awed fascination as the two began to slowly circle each other. Then the bell rang.
Intense. Definitely an understatement when it came to the feeling of the match. The arena had been torn throughout and on the edge of their seats. No one could shrug off the feeling of what they feared would be an inevitable outcome. The streak would end. Then suddenly a burst of hope when Taker would gain the upper hand.
The back and forth was almost physically painful to watch. Heart stopping. Nail biting. When suddenly the weight shifted and Taker once again had the upper hand. He had a firm hold of Allie and launched her into the ropes, setting up when she came hurtling back towards him.
As he went to flip her upside down for his patented Tombstone, Allie flipped out of his embrace and landed behind him. The sudden burst of defense shocking everyone. Before he could turn around Allie lunged forward and with superhuman strength lifted Taker before slamming him down to the mat, in her hook and ladder finisher, Plunge into Darkness.
Rolling him over, she threw herself on top of him, covering him for the pin.
1
Allie felt her heart clench and tightness in her throat.
2
"I love you, Sensei."
3
The arena fell silent. Shock filled all faces. The Streak was over.
Allie didn't move. She stayed there, laying across her mentor, wrapping her arms around his neck as the tears began to flow. It was several minutes before Allie was able to sit up and watched as Mark collected himself and pulled himself up to his feet.
She sat on the mat with her head in her hands as he looked around the arena sadly. Turning to his rookie he sat and looked at her for a moment. When Allie's eyes finally rose to meet his, he reached a hand towards her and pulled her to her feet.
The arena cheered loudly as they watched The Undertaker drop to one knee and lightning and thunder filled the arena. Allie felt tears run down her cheeks when he bowed his head to her. It was his way of passing the torch to her and there was barely a dry eye in the arena.
When he made it back to his feet, they both took a minute to play to the crowd before exiting the ring together. They walked up the ramp side by side, both stopping when they reached the top. The crowd quieted as they both turned to look at each other, then turned their heads to look behind them at the crowd.
When they turned back around, they waited a couple beats before raising their fists high in the air, making the crowd erupt. As Taker dropped his fist he motioned to Allie then the crowd.
Allie got the message, turning completely around to face the crowd again. As lightning struck all around her, Allie dropped to a knee, bowing her head to the universe. The new face of fear in the WWE had been crowned.
"Hold on, just spinning around
Confetti falls to the ground
May these memories break our fall"
In the coming months, Allie had come to terms with her win over Mark at Wrestlemania and it appeared so had the WWE Universe. It hadn't gone over smoothly in some cities. She couldn't count the number of arenas she had been booed out of, but finally after a successful storyline with Randy she had won them all back. She owed most of that to Randy and his uncanny ability to be one of the biggest villains in WWE history. She had come out smelling like a rose and was still WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
The Shield had split up in June and after a lot of argument and re-writing, they had parted ways subtly and on good terms. In the coming months they would cross paths in their singles journeys, but in the mean time they were working their own respective storylines. Outside the ring though, nothing had changed.
It was now the end of October and so much had happened in their circle of friends. Steph and Joe had gotten married in the beginning of September. It had been a beautiful, though somewhat small wedding. Steph had insisted they get married in Pensacola, close to Joe's family so that they and Joelle wouldn't have to travel far. They had flown in all the people most important from Steph's family and anyone else they felt should be there. They were married at a nearby farm in an orchard on a beautiful moonlit evening with Allie as Steph's maid of honor and Joe's brother as his best man. Leighla and Joe's sisters joined Allie as bridesmaids and Jon, Colby and one of Steph's brothers stood as the groomsmen. And, of course, little Joelle was their beautiful flower girl.
Leighla and Colby had joined the group of the engaged, when Colby, with Allie's help, proposed in August. They were married only a couple weeks later, neither wanting to wait since they had already been together for so long. They had a small backyard wedding at their home in Iowa with only the bare minimum of people attending. It had come as quite the surprise when they had informed everyone a week before Steph and Joe's wedding that Leighla was pregnant with their first little bundle of joy. Colby's eyes had lit up with a light that none of them had seen before when he talked about becoming a dad, something he never thought he'd be. Everyone was so excited for them knowing what outstanding parents this little one would have.
Now, Allie and Jon were in their home in Las Vegas preparing for a vacation to the Bahamas. Their recent schedules had been demanding and now they were just looking to get away and spend some time alone. But first, tonight was Halloween, Allie's favorite time of year and she and Jon had trick or treaters to plan for.
"Babe, I have to run out for more candy," Jon called out to her from the kitchen.
"You don't think we have enough?" she yelled back from their bedroom, having just gotten out of the shower.
"No, I think we're gonna have more kids than we thought," he said stepping into their bedroom, smiling when he saw her standing by the bed in nothing but a towel.
"There are a lot of kids in this neighborhood," Allie smiled back slinking up to him and wrapping her arms around his neck. They had recently moved into their permanent Vegas suburban home in a beautiful neighborhood. "Speaking of..."
Jon chuckled as he placed a short kiss to her lips. "Is that your smooth attempt at asking me how I feel about having kids?"
"Maybe," she shrugged. "We've never really discussed it and seeing as we're getting married, I just thought we should... ya know... talk about it?"
"Hmm...," Jon pursed his lips together in thought. "How many?"
"6?" Allie asked with hopeful eyes.
Jon didn't flinch as he thought over her suggestion, which surprised Allie. After a few seconds he shrugged, "Ok."
"Ok?" Allie squeaked in surprised. "Seriously?"
"Yea," he grinned. "Why not?"
"Wow," Allie shook her head in shock. "I aimed high thinking you'd start low and we'd meet somewhere in the middle."
"I would've been fine if you had said you wanted 16 kids," Jon chuckled. "As long as you're their mother and I get to have that adventure with you."
"Every adventure that crosses my path for the rest of my life will be made with you, my love," Allie stammered as the emotion hit her, before pulling him into a searing kiss. "I love you."
"I love you, too," he murmured against her lips, before pulling back. "Now that we have that settled, I'm gonna run out. I'll see you shortly."
"Alright," Allie smiled. "Be careful."
"Will do," he saluted her and with that he was out the door.
After changing into some comfy clothes, she moved downstairs and into the living room to wait for Jon. They had promised to get ready together for trick or treating, deciding to go as The Joker and Harley Quinn. Just as she was about to sit on the couch the doorbell rang. Moving to the door, she looked out the peep hole and saw a delivery man standing there with a beautiful bouquet of flowers. Opening the door, she greeted him with a smile that he happily returned.
"Are you Mrs. Good?" he asked looking at his clipboard.
"Umm, not yet," Allie giggled, as he handed her a black envelope and the flowers, a gorgeous bouquet of black and red roses and white lilies. Her favorites.
"Close enough I guess," he chuckled, before biding her a Happy Halloween and walking back to his truck.
Shutting the door, she heard little furry feet scuffle into the room. With a smile, she turned and watched as Moxley scampered up to her. "And where have you been hiding little man?" she chuckled at his cute little face as he yawned widely, revealing he must have been off napping somewhere.
Walking to the kitchen, she set the vase down in the center of the table, before opening the envelope and pulling out a silver card.
'"You are the answer to every prayer I've offered. You are a song, a dream, a whisper, and I don't know how I could have lived without you for as long as I have."
We played this game once before, Princess. This time it's for happily ever after. At the stroke of 12 your fairy godmothers will arrive and grant the first wish.
-PC'
"What is he up to now?" Allie whispered to herself as she sat down slowly on the couch, rereading the note once again. Glancing over at the clock she saw that it was almost eleven. It wouldn't be long before her 'fairy godmothers' showed up. Looking over towards Moxley, who was now curled up at her feet, she shot him a grin and scratched him behind the ears, "What's that crazy daddy of yours up too, Mox?" He simply gave her a sleepy puppy yawn and nuzzled into her leg, before falling asleep again. "I see the anticipation is killing you too," she chuckled.
At exactly 12 on the dot, the front door was pushed open and the chattering of two very familiar female voices came into the room. Allie jumped to her feet and darted towards the door, finding Steph and Leighla struggling inside with several bags. Neither had noticed her yet as she stood there watching them with her arms folded and a smirk.
"Fairy godmothers, huh?" she chuckled, finally pulling their attention towards her.
"Cinderella should've been so lucky," Leighla laughed, setting down several bags and moving towards Allie to hug her. "So are you ready?"
"For what exactly?" Allie asked pulling back from the hug, before she was pulled into a hug from Steph.
"To get married!" Steph and Leighla both exclaimed when Steph and Allie pulled back.
"What?" Allie asked in disbelief. "We aren't getting married today. Emerald at Queensridge was booked until December, remember?"
"Well, yea, but then Jon got a call saying that today had opened up," Leighla explained.
"And he knew how much you wanted to get married on Halloween, so he and your planner moved everything that was planned for December to today," Steph continued. "I'm amazed he was able to keep it from you."
"He's been working so hard to make sure this day would be everything you ever dreamed," Leighla gushed. "And girl, I think he nailed it.
"It's gonna knock your socks off," Steph beamed.
Allie stood there in utter shock, disbelief and confusion. "He?"
"Yep," both girls bounced excitedly.
"I'm?" Allie stammered.
"Yep!"
"Oh my god," Allie said clutching her midsection and her head, suddenly feeling light headed and queasy all at the same time. "I need to sit down."
"You can sit in the car when it gets here," Steph said wrapping an arm around her to support her. "Leigh, can you get her some water?"
"On it," Leighla called before darting into the kitchen.
"You ok?" Steph asked her as Allie took in some deep breaths. "You need one of your pills?"
Allie shook her head, "No, I'm just trying to process this." After Leighla returned with the water, Allie took a few sips and some more deep breaths, before looking at both women. "We're really getting married today?" They both beamed at her and nodded. "Holy shit."
"Alright, chica," Steph said as a horn sounded outside. "Let's get moving. We've got work to do."
Stepping outside the front door, Allie's eyes lit up at the sight before her.
"Jessie?!" Allie exclaimed before rushing towards her sister. "You're here!"
"Of course I'm here," her sister chuckled. "Wish 1, granted. Did you really think Jon would plan all this without involving your family?"
"Mom and Dad are here too?" Allie smiled excitedly, her smile growing when he sister confirmed.
"Come on," Jessie ushered her sister to the waiting limo and opening the door. "We're kinda crunched for time."
With that, all the women and all the bags piled into the limo and were off.
Pulling up in front of Emerald of Queenridge, they were met by Allie's mom and her wedding planner, Lucy. Allie exited the car and quickly embraced her mom, who squeezed her tightly.
"Hi Momma," Allie said, before turning to greet Lucy. "You've been keeping secrets from me lady."
The older woman laughed before looping her arm through Allie's and leading her into the building, "He swore me to secrecy. One flash of that dimpled smile and who could resist."
Allie through back her head and laughed, "Oh he threw the dimples at you. You didn't stand a chance."
Lucy walked all the women into a large room, after exiting the elevator, that was labeled as the Bride's Suite. The room was huge and fully equipped for all their preparation needs and the women couldn't be more excited. Comfy plush furniture, several fully functioning vanity stations, two bathrooms, a tv, stereo system, the amenities seemed to go on and on.
"This is spectacular, Lucy," Allie swooned, as the women began to move about the room and began setting up.
"I'm gonna go check on the men and then make sure all the details are being handled," Lucy smiled at Allie. "Don't you worry about a thing and just enjoy your day." Before Allie could utter another word, Lucy was out the door.
Turning around, she was met with the beaming smile of Leighla.
"Hi," Leighla said, taking her arm and leading her to one of the vanity stations. "My name is Leighla and I'll be your beautician today." Allie giggled as Leighla pushed her gently into the chair and set to work on her hair. "Did you ever pick a style?"
"Yea," Allie said as she scrambled for her phone in her pocket. Pulling it out, she quickly scrolled through her photos until she found the picture she was looking for. It was an elegant but simple curled style. Her hair would be down with a pinned bump holding her tiara... her tiara! Her dress!
"Oh my god!" she exclaimed in a panic, spinning around to look at the others. "I don't have my dress! I was supposed to pick it up after we got back from the Bahamas."
A knock at the door interrupted her rant and she bolted to the door. Pulling it open she was met with the wide grin of Joe, who was holding a garment bag and an envelope that said 'Wish 2'.
"Well hello, the future Mrs. Good," Joe said as he strolled into the room and handed the bag to Steph, before placing a kiss to her lips and walked back out, waggling his fingers at Allie's confused face with a smirk. "See ya out there."
After the door shut, she turned to Steph who was holding out the envelope. She snatched the envelope, making Steph huff out a laugh. "Why is your husband always part of Jon's schemes?"
"For the same reason I'm always part of yours," Steph laughed. "They're best friends."
Allie hummed at her as she tore open the envelope and pulled out the card.
'"I love you, Allie. I am who I am because of you. You are every reason, every hope, and every dream I've ever had, and no matter what happens to us in the future, every day we are together is the greatest day of my life. I will always be yours.
And, my darling, you will always be mine."
As you know by now, I've been secretly plotting behind your back. I know that today was your first choice for our wedding day and I couldn't pass up the chance to surprise you when Lucy called and said it was now available. I also know that today wouldn't be perfect without the gown you picked out.
Joe was kind enough to go and pick it up for you, so that you wouldn't have to go without it. Colby is currently on his way to pick up our ring bearer. I know you'd feel terrible if you didn't leave candy for our trick or treaters, so he's taking care of that as well.
Relax and enjoy the day, my love. I will see you soon... but not soon enough.
-PC'
"He never ceases to amaze me," Allie smiled, then turned to look at the women in the room. "Plus, he keeps quoting The Notebook. He gets me."
"If he really got you he'd be quoting Nightmare on Elm Street," Steph teased, making the other women laugh. "He just gets the romantic side of you."
"Not true," Allie smiled as she took the garment bag from Steph and hung it up, before unzipping it. "Last week, he surprised me with a romantic date night by taking me to a horror movie fest. You know as well as I do that he doesn't really care for them. He stomachs them because he knows I love them." She pulled the dress out of the bag and gave it a big smile as she looked it over. "Like I said, he gets me."
"My god," Steph gawked at the dress as Allie removed it, her shoes, and her accessories from the bag. "That gown gets more gorgeous every time I see it."
"It's even more beautiful on the bride," Allie's mother smiled, before pulling away from her now hanging gown and over towards Leighla. "Let Leighla get to work so we can see you in that beautiful gown."
About an hour later, Leighla had finished Allie's hair and make-up. She had given her long flowing curls that were slightly pinned back enough to weave the tiara through it and attach the simple tulle veil. Her make-up was flawless, with perfect contouring, a neutral eye with dark liner, and blood red lips.
Her gown was every bit a princess gown, the custom design she had asked Vera for. From the sweetheart cut and rhinestone bodice, the transparent long sleeves and back with beaded buttons, to the long, full satin skirt and long train. The shoes she wore were custom made by Raf and we a silver satin with sapphire blue roses embroidered into the sides, leading up to a rhinestone heart on the side of her heel with Jon's name embroidered in the middle of it.
"Come on, Mrs. Good," Steph smiled, as she stepped up next to her. "It's time."
Taking a deep breath, Allie followed the other women out the door. They traveled down a long hallway that lead to a large lobby area, where they were met by Lucy and Allie's father, Rich. The moment the two laid eyes on each other they broke into tears and enveloped each other in a tight hug.
"You look beautiful," Rich smiled at her when they pulled back. "My little girl is all grown up."
Allie smiled widely at her dad as Lucy stepped up next to them. "Everything is just about ready. I'm going to run out and make sure everyone is settled and then we'll get started." After a reassuring smile and a pat to Allie's arm, she stepped out the door that lead to the large garden area where the ceremony would be taking place.
"This is really happening," Allie whispered in disbelief to her dad. "I can't believe I'm actually gonna get to marry him."
"He's a great guy, Alicia," Rich smiled at her. "He absolutely loves and adores you. You found a better man than I coud have ever dreamed up for you."
"Thanks, Daddy," she sniffed back tears. "You don't know how much that means to me."
After a quick kiss to his cheek, Allie was pulled away by Leighla to touch up her make-up and hair before they were ushered out the door.
Lucy lead them out to where they would make their way down the aisle, while keeping Allie hidden in the back behind some pillars and tall shrubs. Allie's breath was nearly knocked out of her as she took in the garden and courtyard from her hiding spot. It was decorated in the autumn theme that she and Jon had picked and it looked absolutely stunning, while soft instramental music played.
It was decorated in oranges, browns and golden yellows that gave everything a warm and comforting feel. The espresso colored chairs were lined up on either side of the long aisle and were accented with orange cushions, burlap bows and autumn flowers. The aisle itself was covered in autumn leaves and lined with dimly lit lanterns that carried all the way up to the archway that she and Jon would be married under. The archway itself was a deep brown wood that was decorated in autumn leaves, flowers, burlap and lace woven through it.
Allie's heart skipped a beat as her eyes scanned over the right side of the archway and saw Jon standing there in his black tux with dark orange tie and vest, looking just as nervous and anxious as she felt. Joe, his best man, leant forward and whispered something to him that made him smile. Allie watched Jon nod his head towards the aisle with a smile turning Allie's attention away from him as she watched her mother be lead down the aisle by Sami.
After seating her mother, Sami took his place behind Colby at the front, both standing behind Jon and Joe. When the bridesmaids began making their way down the aisle, Lucy walked over to Allie and handed her a microphone, for a surprise she had for Jon. Once Steph had started her way down the aisle a curtain closed behind her, allowing Allie to get into position without being seen, her dad standing off to the side so he wouldn't be seen once the curtain was drawn back again.
After Steph took her place at the alter, the music changed and everyone in attendance stood up and turned towards the back. As the soft music placed the curtain suddenly swung aside, revealing Allie standing alone with mic in hand. Connecting her eyes with Jon's she smiled and raised the mic to her lips.
"All those days watching from the windows
All those years outside looking in
All that time never even knowing
Just how blind I've been
Now I'm here, blinking in the starlight
Now I'm here, suddenly I see
Standing here, it's all so clear
I'm where I'm meant to be
And at last I see the light
And it's like the fog has lifted
And at last I see the light
And it's like the sky is new
And it's warm and real and bright
And the world has somehow shifted
All at once everything looks different
Now that I see you"
With a beaming smile, her father stepped out and she took his arm as they made their way down the aisle, while the instrumental part of the song played. When they reached about the halfway point of the aisle, Jon had a surprise of his own as he took a mic handed to him by Joe. Tears filled Allie's eyes as he kept his eyes locked on hers as his voice filled the courtyard.
"All those days, chasing down a daydream
All those years, living in a blur
All that time, never truly seeing
Things the way they were
Now she's here, shining in the starlight
Now she's here, suddenly I know
If she's here, it's crystal clear
I'm where I'm meant to go"
As Allie and her father got closer to the alter, Allie joined Jon in finishing the song.
"And at last I see the light
And it's like the fog has lifted
And at last I see the light
And it's like the sky is new
And it's warm and real and bright
And the world has somehow shifted
All at once everything looks different
Now that I see you
Now that I see you"
Both of them passed off their microphones, then Allie's father kissed her on the cheek gently, before placing her hand in Jon's outstetched hand, as the music came to a close. Keeping their hands tighty linked, Jon lead them forward towards the officiant. Turning towards each other, they smiled at each other as the ceremony began.
"Welcome everyone," the officiant began. "Jon and Allie have chosen you, those special and important to them, to witness and celebrate the beginning of their life together. Through their time together, they have come to realize that their personal dreams, hopes, and goals are more attainable and more meaningful through the combined effort and mutual support provided in love, commitment, and family. Today as we create this marriage, we also create a new bond and a new sense of family - one that will undoubtedly include all of who are present here today."
The ceremony continued as Jon and Allie gazed lovingly into each other's eyes, both with a soft smile on their lips.
"Jon and Allie have written their own vows and wish to share them with you now," The officiant stepped back as Jon took his microphone Joe and turned back to his bride.
"Allie. Today, I marry my best friend, my true love, my soulmate, my better half. You hold and protect my heart in a way I never thought someone would be able to. I never pictured myself in this moment; committing myself to someone and being so confident in doing so. I know without a doubt that you are my one and only love. We will spend the rest of our lives caring for, challenging, fighting with, conspiring with, and loving each other. I hold you above all others and could never picture my life without you in it. You've not only made me a better man, Allie, but an over all better person. Heaven better be ready for both of us when that time comes, because I fully intend to follow you through life and in death. Nothing can keep me from being by your side. I love you and I will honor you, comfort you, care for you, protect you and cherish you, all the days of my life."
Tears were sliding down Allie's cheeks as she smiled at Jon. Taking her mic from Steph, she receited her vows.
"Jon. You are the love of my life. You fill my heart with the kind of love and happiness and peace that you only ever dream of finding. You complete me in every way and in ways I never knew someone could. You are my best friend and my soulmate. Jon, you are my whole heart and I never would have imagined that the first time I saw you, that I was looking at my future. Not just my future husband, but everything that my future holds will have you at my side. When I look at you I see perfection, even when you don't. You are the perfect wrestler, the perfect friend, the perfect husband, and I know you will be the perfect father. I look in your eyes and know that you are the perfect partner in life for me. I can only hope to measure up to your idea of perfection. I love you and I promise to honor you, comfort you, care for you, protect you, and cherish you all the days of my life."
"It is now time for the exchanging of rings," the officiant said as he stepped back towards them. After taking Allie's wedding band from Joe, Jon handed him the mic so he could hold it for him.
"Allie, I give you this ring as a symbol of my love and faithfulness. As I place it on your finger, I commit my heart and soul to you. As it encircles your finger, may it remind you always that you are surrounded by my enduring love." With that he slid the ring onto her finger with a relieved sigh.
Allie and Steph mimicked Jon and Joe's actions as she began speaking.
"Jon, I give you this ring as a symbol of my love and faithfulness. As I place it on your finger, I commit my heart and soul to you. As it encircles your finger, may it remind you always that you are surrounded by my enduring love." Allie chuckled as she slid Jon's ring onto his finger and he began bouncing on the balls of his feet.
"By the power vested in me, by the state of Nevada, I now pronounce you husband and wife. Jon, you may finally kiss your bride." With a loud "whoop" making everyone laugh, Jon swooped in and planted his lips firmly on Allie's. She giggled against his lips as he picked her up and spun her around. "Family and friends, it is my pleasure to present to you for the very first time, Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan and Alicia Good."
Loud cheers from everyone around them caused them to pull back from their kiss and turn towards the crowd. Jon grabbed Allie's hand in his and raised them as if celebrating a victory in the ring together, making Allie and everyone else laugh.
"Can you take a moment
Promise me this:
That you'll stand by me forever
But if God forbid fate should step in
And force us into a goodbye
If you have children someday
When they point to the pictures
Please tell them my name
Tell them how the crowds went wild
Tell them how I hope they shine"
After taking pictures in the courtyard, the bridal party then began to make their way to the back and towards the reception hall. As they got closer, Jon suddenly pulled Allie gently into a storage room.
"Oh this is romantic," she laughed as he hunted for the switch on the wall.
"Romance is my middle name, baby," Jon chuckled as he finally found the switch and flipped the light on. Turning towards her, he was quickly on her and began to ravage her mouth with his.
"I can't believe you did all this and managed to keep it from me," Allie gasped out when Jon finally let her breathe. "And the song? How did you know?"
Jon chuckled as he placed a gentle kiss to her lips, "Lucy told me what you were walking down the aisle to and I thought I would surprise you. I had no idea you were planning to do the same. Guess we surprised each other."
"Mmhmm," Allie hummed and nodded, before pressing her lips firmly back on her husband's. "I love you, Mr. Good."
"I love you, too, Mrs. Good," he smiled against her lips. A loud pounding on the door made the two jump and look towards the door.
"HEEEEEYYYY! I SAW YOU TWO FREAKS GO IN THERE!" Came the loud bellowing voice of Sami. Both Allie and Jon rolled their eyes and stiffled laughs. "YOU JACKASSES HAVE A RECEPTION TO GET TO!"
"Shut up Sami!" they both yelled back at him.
"Save it for the honeymoon you two." The voice that carried through the door this time was definitely not Sami. The deep gravely drawl was recognized almost instantly, as Allie scurried to the door and threw it open.
"You're here!" Allie beamed at Mark, who was holding up an envelope that said 'Wish 3'. Allie turned to Jon who just shrugged and smiled at her. Mark handed her the envelope and she was quick to open it.
'"We fell in love, despite our differences, and once we did, something rare and beautiful was created. For me, love like that has only happened once, and that's why every minute we spent together has been seared in my memory. I'll never forget a single moment of it."
I know you think that tomorrow we're leaving for the Bahamas, but I also know that you had something else in mind for our honeymoon. I hope you're ready to make some more memories with me and get your Irish on. I love you with all my heart, Mrs. Good. Today and everyday you are my reason.
-Mr. Good (aka PC)'
Allie looked up at him with wide eyes, "Seriously? We're really going?"
Jon nodded, "I know you've never really been able to spend much time there in the past and its a dream of yours. I didn't buy you a castle, but I did manage to rent one out for two weeks."
"Oh my god!" Allie gasped in disbelief and leaped at him. Jon caught her with open and waiting arms. "I can't believe this!"
"Believe it, baby," Jon chuckled. "Two weeks in a castle in Ireland."
Allie was lost for words and all she managed to do was kiss him deeply, hoping that everything she was feeling passed through it. Allie suddenly pulled back and turned towards Mark. "Is it ready?"
Mark beamed at her and tossed her something and motioned with his head out the nearby doors. "I'll stall, but try and be quick."
"Thank you!" Smiling widely at Mark, Allie grabbed Jon's hand and lead him quickly out the doors. Scanning the parking lot, her eyes landed on what she was looking for and pulled Jon to a stop, turning to look at him. "My gift to you can't even hold a candle to everything you've done for me, but I hope you know how much love went into it and that its only the first of the many things you deserve."
Jon looked at her confused before she turned him to face the parking lot and pointed him to look towards the back end. His eyes bulged as he took in the large black tarp that covered the object. "You didn't?"
Allie didn't answer right away, just simply took his hand and laid something in it. Opening up the palm of his hand once she removed her own, Jon swallowed harshly as he took in the key in his hand.
"I figured it was only fair, seeing as you gave me a dream of mine for my birthday," Allie smiled at him and lead him over to the large object. "I thought it was time you got a dream of yours."
Jon slowly walked forward and with shaky hands grabbed a hold of the tarp. Taking a deep breath, he slowly began to drag it off until it slipped from his hands at the sight before him. Black and silver metal and fiber glass made up the beautiful motorcycle in front of him. A black gas tank that had the Harley Davidson logo on the sides, but the top held an interesting looking symbol. He ran his hands over it as he took it in.
"It kinda looks like the Anarchy symbol, but its actually a D and an A," Allie explained as she stepped up next to him.
"Dean Ambrose," Jon said out loud in a husky whisper. Allie nodded, even though Jon didn't see it.
"If you don't like it, we can get it-" Allie was cut off as Jon rounded on her and pulled her in for a passionate and forceful kiss that would have knocked on her ass if Jon hadn't had a hold of her.
"Its perfect," he breathed against her lips. "You're perfect. How did you manage this?"
"You have your secrets," Allie chuckled, kissing him again. "I have mine."
Jon kissed her deeply again, before pulling back and resting his forehead against hers. "Thank you, baby. I love it."
Allie smiled brightly, thrilled that he like his gift. "You're welcome. I'm so glad you like it."
After a few more kisses, Jon took another long look at the bike, before reaching once again for the tarp. "We better head inside. They're gonna start looking for us." Allie nodded and helped him place the tarp back over the bike. Once they were done, Jon took her hand and they headed back inside.
They met up with the bridal party outside the reception hall and waited for the music to cue up their introductions. The MC's voice carried through the hall getting everyone's attention.
"Ladies and gentlemen, it is now time to welcome the bridal party!" Hunter said, causing the room to cheer. "Are you ready?" Loud cheers followed again. "No! I said, Are. You. Ready?!" The crowd got louder. "Then for the hundreds in attendance... and for Allie and Jon who are stupid enough to think I'm doing this for free... LLLLLLLet's get ready to partyyyyyyyy!"
With a loud cheer from the crowd, Ke$ha's Blow began to play.
"Introducing groomsman, Sami Johnston and bridesmaid, Jessie Miles."
Sami and Jessie danced their way out onto the floor, making everyone laugh with their thrashing around.
"Groomsman, Colby Lopez and bridesmaid, Leighla Lopez."
Colby followed out Sami and Jessie as he carried Leighla on his back while she fist pumped the air. As they neared the bridal table he set her down and gave her a slow spin.
"Best man, Joe Anoa'i and Matron of honor, Stephanie Anoa'i."
Joe walked out casually with a big smile on his face, when Steph suddenly slid into the room wearing a pair of sunglasses and began dancing wildly around Joe. Joe playfully rolled his eyes, when Steph stopped suddenly in front of him and pulled out of pair of sunglasses. She placed them on Joe's face and squealed with laughter when he suddenly took her hand and began twirling her around. The two danced together as they made their way to the table.
Everyone in the room stood up and cheered loudly as the music cut out. Everyone got louder when Jon's entrance music suddenly began playing.
"Ladies and gentlemen, the moment you've all been waiting for. Making their way to the reception hall, the bride and groom, Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan Goooooood!"
Jon darted into the room carrying a laughing Allie in his arms bridal style. After setting her down, he dropped to one knee in front of her and placed a sweet kiss to her left hand, before standing back up and leading her to the dance floor in the center of the room. Once they reached the center of the dance floor the music cut out and was replaced by the guitar intro to their wedding song, "May I" by Trading Yesterday. It was the song Jon sang to her at her birthday party the night their relationship began.
After their first dance, the night carried on with dinner, dancing, drinking, toasts and speaches. Everyone was having an amazing time and the party went well into the late hours. Jon and Allie were currently saying their goodbye's to everyone so they could head home and get some sleep before their early morning flight to Ireland. After saying goodbye to the rest of their guests they were now outside by Jon's new bike with Joe, Colby, Steph, Leighla and Sami.
"This has been a crazy couple years," Steph said, snuggling into her husband's side. "Seems kinda surreal."
"Tell me about it," Leighla laughed as she rubbed her belly, making the others laugh as well. Colby pulled her tighter against him with one arm, while the other held a sleeping Moxley.
"Are you guys sure you're ok to watch him while we're gone?" Allie asked Leighla. "I don't want him to be any trouble for you."
"He'll be fine," Leighla smiled. "Besides, he'll keep Kevin entertained. It's been too long since they've had a slumber party anyway."
Allie nodded, before turning to Jon, "We should probably get going, babe."
Jon nodded and the group began offering hugs and well wishes to each other. Once the hugs were done the group stood there for a moment and just looked at each other with big smiles. Slowly, Allie pushed her fist out in front of her in the middle of the group. Jon chuckled before joining his hand along side hers. The others followed suit before all seven of them stood there with their fists connected.
"Family," Allie smiled at everyone.
"Always," the others answered in response.
With that, Jon and Allie climbed on his new bike, formal wear and all, and took off down the road towards home.
Two years ago none of them would have predicted they would be here. Now that they were, there is no one and nowhere else on earth they would rather be.
"Long, long live the walls we crashed through
All the kingdom lights shined just for me and you
And I was screaming, "long live all the magic we made"
And bring on all the pretenders
I'm not afraid
Singing long live all the mountains we moved
I had the time of my life
Fighting dragons with you
And long, long live the look on your face
And bring on all the pretenders
One day, we will be remembered"
A/N: I don't know what else to say other than I'm sorry this so long. Life takes us down weird roads and we have to decide how we let those journeys affect us. I've decided that I'm done letting it affect the people and things I love. So through a lot of personal time and soul searching I've found my passion for writing again and in doing so I was finally able to bring this story to the end that you all deserve. In addition I have a whole new set of stories to bring to you and am excited to get them started, while I finish my other stories that I've started.
Thank you all so much for all your encouragement and love and appreciation. I can't believe that this story is finally finished. I feel like it was just started, even with the long hiatus. I hope the epilogue was to your liking and if not, I promise to make it up to you in my upcoming series.
If you've enjoyed my Allie and Jon adventures, buckle up for a new stories, The Wonderstruck Series. If you enjoyed Frozen Hearts and May I Be Your Shield, this series will give you the best of both worlds. However, I'm thinking of giving Jon a break and using a certain Phenomenal one. Let me know what your thoughts are on that. Jon or AJ?
Stick with me my loves! My writing journey has only just begun. 333
