I AM SO NERVOUS I AM GOING TO COME OUT TO MY TEACHER TOMORROW SO HERE'S A FIC ABOUT KURT BEING NERVOUS TOO.
Show Time
Kurt tries to breathe, touching his hair again. So far he perfected it once, messed it up three times while trying it perfect it further, and now he's working on getting it back to normal.
He sees Blaine approaching him in the mirror, but still jumps when he kisses his neck lightly.
"Nervous, honey?" murmurs Blaine.
"So nervous. I'm gonna puke. Worse, I'm gonna go upstage and open my mouth to sing and then just puke. I'm gonna puke on the crowd, Blaine!" he says, slamming the hairspray container on the vanity.
"You're going to be fine, and I doubt you'll puke on the crowd," he says, snatching a packet of mints from the vanity and shoving one between Kurt's lips. "There. Now, stop touching your hair. It looks perfect."
Kurt groans through his mint. "It-"
"Does."
He huffs. Blaine kisses his cheek.
"You're going to be fine. I'll be in the crowd; just pretend you're only singing in front of me."
Kurt leans back against his chest. "I'll just imagine you're naked," he murmurs, but his tone is still anxious.
"I could take my pants off."
Kurt stands up on wobbly legs and hugs Blaine, resting his head on his shoulder. "Okay."
"You can do it, okay? You thought you'd faint before your first competition in Dalton, too, and you were marvelous. You'll be marvelous today as well, I promise."
"Okay," Kurt says and breathes the scent of Blaine's skin.
"Show time in five!" calls a girl on the other side of the room.
"Alright, I better get going. Find me in the crowd, okay? Just wink twice and I'll know to pull off my pants."
Kurt giggles a little, and releases him. "Wish me luck?"
Blaine kisses him for a long, sweet moment. "Good luck, honey. You're going to be great."
"Okay."
