You Make It Easy
Kurt's already asleep, but Blaine can't possibly close his eyes. His arm is half numb already, squashed under Kurt's weight, but he'll survive. He keeps stroking Kurt's relaxed face with his still-living hand, amazed at how much love he can feel for this boy.
He stopped questioning what he's feeling a long time ago- now whenever he thinks about this utter devotion, this feeling of home and belonging and peace, he's just calling it love.
Kurt mumbles something quiet, and Blaine smiles; he already knows Kurt talks a little in his sleep, and of course, it's the most adorable thing he's ever seen.
"Mm, 'laine," Kurt says drowsily, and Blaine's stomach flutters.
"Yes, baby?" he whispers, feeling a little silly for talking to his sleeping boyfriend but joyful nonetheless.
Kurt chuckles; it's like flowers are blooming inside of Blaine's stomach. He snuggles closer, so Blaine pulls him completely on top of him, freeing his numb arm that immediately starts to tingle. He kisses Kurt's hair, his hand wandering to stroke up and down Kurt's back.
"Mm, 'ove…"
"What was that?" Blaine asks before realizing Kurt won't hear him.
"I 'ove you," Kurt sighs, and smacks his lips.
Blaine startles; of course he thought it's… very likely for Kurt to love him back, but he never said the words, and Blaine never realized how much he had wanted to hear them. He can feel his heart pounding in his chest and his hands become sweaty, still pressed against Kurt's body. He draws in a shaky breath and whispers back, "I love you, too."
Kurt sighs again, nuzzling sleepily into Blaine's chest, and well, Blaine's never falling asleep now. He giggles to himself and murmurs into the cool night air, "I love you, too, Kurt."
