Eight months later, Zack makes a fabulous return to his oh-so-neglected fiction.
Probably not gonna work on my other fiction until I have at least chapter twelve on this one done.
Mitchell
It was about nine in the morning when I turned the TV on. The first thing I saw was Ryaku's face.
Hopefully this didn't get us in any trouble with the cops. That is, if Moldox hasn't bought out the legal system yet.
Life isn't a cakewalk when your number one enemy is also the world's richest man.
I heard a knock on the door. I edged slowly to the door to find out who it was.
There were two of them. Both of them were morphs, which lowered but not eliminated the chances that they were hostile. One was a Ninetales boy who looked rather sleep deprived, and the other was a Sylveon boy with dark hair. Both of them looked about sixteen.
"Hey," The Sylveon called as he knocked, "We know one of you are in there."
I fashioned a crude sword from my 3DS, hit "send" and held it at the ready. I wasn't about to go down without a fight.
I opened the door slowly. They both carried bladed weapons at their sides, the Ninetales a glaive, and the Sylveon a katana, but neither of them seemed like they wanted a fight.
I put away my poorly drawn sword.
"Which one are you?" The Ninetales asked with obvious hints of boredom.
I hesitated a bit. "I'm Mitchell. Kenji and Ryaku are off doing who-knows-what at who-knows-where, and Diana and Irene are taking care of Kenji's brother."
The Sylveon let out a sigh. "We were looking for Ryaku. You know where he is?"
I thought about it for a bit. "Actually, I think I do. Just follow me." I put my shoes on, rushed out the door, and took the elevator to the lobby.
As I rushed outside, I could barely see Ryaku coming from the horizon on his motorcycle.
I rushed to the middle of the road and stood there, arms outstretched.
About four minutes later, Ryaku's motorcycle skidded to a halt. Ryaku took off his helmet to reveal a glare, most likely directed at me. "I have two things to say to you, Mitch. One," He raised his voice to a yell. "Are you crazy?" He lowered his voice again. "Two, what made you think that was necessary?"
"I honestly don't know," I answered. "On a side note, these two guys are here to see you."
"Ah." He turned to the duo. "You two must be the ones that contacted me yesterday. Now all I need to know is which one of you is which."
"Right." The Sylveon nodded. "I'm Dante, and this one-" he motioned towards the Ninetales- "is Zackus."
The Ninetales named Zackus groaned. "You know very well I don't like it when you refer to me like that."
Dante smiled. "I know. That's why I like doing it so much."
Zackus let out a sigh, reached into his pocket, and took out something that looked like a jewel shard. "This is that artifact we were talking about." He handed it to Ryaku, who looked it over and put it in his pocket.
The three started talking for some time, and out of the corner of my eye, I could see Kenji sneaking off. Curious about what he was doing, I decided to follow him from a safe distance.
My tailing had led me to a shady alley, where Kenji was getting involved in some… questionable acts. It had about the same concept as a drug deal.
There were four guys in the alleyway other than Kenji. The largest one looked at the objects Kenji had handed him, and tossed them to the side.
Then I saw them all gang up on Kenji, dragging him kicking and screaming through a metal door.
I was sort of surprised I wasn't noticed. I stepped back a few times, and used my 3DS to make a spiked shield. I made my way to the alley entrance and blindly charged with my newly made shield right into a chain link fence.
I decided I needed something to better defend myself and drew up a short sword.
I stood in front of the door for a few minutes, debating whether or not I should just rush over the door or try to open it first. I then noticed that there was no handle on said door, so my only choice was… CHAAAAAAARRGE!
I blew open the door with my shield in a fit of bravery and impulse. I then noticed that the lights were out, and everyone in the room was unconscious.
I slowly made my way to the first door on the left, where I saw a Luxray-morph lying on the floor, softly crying and bleeding. He opened his eyes a little bit and looked towards me. "Mitchell!" His voice matched Kenji's voice, which made me assume that this was Kenji. "What are you doing here?"
I faltered. "I was curious, and I followed you here, and I-"
"Typical." Kenji sighed. "Although I should be thankful that you came to my assistance when you did. He picked up two objects that looked like pairs of metal rods attached to each other, and slowly rose himself to his feet. I could see some of his bruises under his fur, in addition to a few stab wounds.
"Kenji… what happened?" There was a clear tone of concern in my voice.
"I don't wanna talk about it right now. Maybe when we get back home."
"We might wanna get those wounds treated as well."
You should know the drill. Review, I can't improve if I don't know my fans' opinions on this story (implying I have fans), and have a fantabulous day.
