Sorry, ya'll, I had some trouble uploading the drabble yesterday. Here it is now!
Blaine hugging the wrong person from behind- based on a tumblr post about several different AUs. I might take more ideas from that post in upcoming drabbles :)
Hug Hug, Kiss Kiss
Blaine would recognize that coat everywhere- but especially when he's just been stood up and needs company.
"Dave!" he calls, but the noise of the city must be drowning his voice, because Dave doesn't hear him, so he walks up and puts his arms around Dave's waist. "Hi there- woah!" he yelps when he looks up and it's most certainly not Dave; although it is a quite attractive man, in his twenties or so, pale-skinned, blue-eyed, and beautiful.
He steps back quickly, beginning to stammer when the man turns around to stare at his quizzically.
"Oh my god, I'm so sorry, you looked like someone I know," he apologizes and understands what it seems like he's doing. "Oh crap. This sounds like I'm hitting on you, but I swear I'm not- not that I wouldn't hit on you, I mean- oh god." He's blushing furiously by now, mumbling and rubbing his neck frantically. The guy smiles at him.
"It's okay, don't worry," he says in a lovely, teasingly high pitched voice. "I don't particularly mind cute guys hugging me."
Blaine blushes further as a small girl appears at the guys elbow. "OOh, who's the cutie?" she asks. "Did you finally find someone to bring to our double date?"
He sighs. "Rachel. No. Sorry, um-" he apologizes to Blaine. "I don't know your name."
"Blaine," says Blaine and stretches out his hand.
"Kurt," he smiles gently and shakes his hand.
The girl elbows Kurt in the ribs.
"Rachel-"
She pushes him back, and smiles at Blaine. "Well, he won't do it, so I will-" she shushes Kurt again when he protests. "Can you give him your phone number?"
"Umm, uh, I-"
"I mean if you're not gay that's cool, but you wouldn't want to knock it till you tried it, right?" Rachel says like it's completely normal.
"Rachel, stop it!" He fights against her hand holding him back. "I'm sorry, please ignore her. Rachel, just go make out with Brian or something."
She huffs. "Fine, your loss," and walks away.
Now it's Kurt's turn to be embarrassed, Blaine staring at him, stunned and confused by everything that's been thrown at him in the span of twenty seconds. "Um, yeah, sorry again."
"I could give you my number if you wanted," Blaine blurts out.
Kurt looks at him, his eyes wide and so strikingly blue that Blaine feels the need to fan himself. "I'd actually love that," he says in a gentle voice, a smile blooming on his face.
"Awesome," Blaine mutters, and they switch phones, giggling like teenagers as they put their numbers into each other's phones.
They part with the promise of a date tomorrow night, and then Kurt softly kisses his cheek and whispers, "Bye", and he can't get his heart back to its normal rate the entire evening.
