Barber Shop
Yeah, you can work at the barber shop, they told him. Earn some money in the summer, that never hurts. It's an easy gob.
Easy job, right. That's why he kept mixing up the shampoo and conditioner, sprinkling water from the sink all over his shirt because he wasn't paying attention.
Well, he was paying attention; just not to the right thing.
He was paying attention to the beautiful, pink-haired, blue-eyed boy in the chair in front of him, staring up at the ceiling calmly and waiting for Blaine to wash his hair. His soft, smooth hair, bright pink and lovely…
Blaine looks away from the boy's hair to his eyes, and finds them looking at him curiously. The boy's plump lips twist up with a smile.
He smiles back hesitantly, and the boy looks back to the ceiling. Focus, Blaine. Just wash the guy's damn hair.
Then minutes later, the guy thanks him and walks away, and Blaine wonders if he's just wasted a really, really good chance.
