Princes!Klaine! Yeah!
The Crown Jewel
Prince Kurt Hummel might've reached a new low. He's hiding behind a curtain in his fiancé's bedroom, and eavesdropping on his conversation with his father, the king of Westerville.
"I am the prince and I shall wed the man of my choosing, father," says Prince Blaine, who is also known as Prince Kurt's fiancé.
"You are my son, and you shall do as I say!" says the king angrily.
"He is the Prince of Lima, from the house of Hummel. I do not see a reason for you to object to our union. The house of Hummel is rich of gold and spices, father," he says, and Prince Kurt's stomach clenches. Could Blaine only want to marry him for his wealth? That can't be true. Is it true? He frowns.
"The house of Smythe is wealthy as well. The prince have asked me for your hand in marriage many times, and weren't you so stubborn, I'd give it to him already."
Prince Blaine crosses his arms over his chest. "I don't wish to marry Prince Sebastian. If you try to force me into a wedding I shall run away, and you will have no heir."
Prince Kurt smiles halfheartedly at the courage of his fiancé.
"Blaine-"
"And crown jewel of the house of Hummel is something that nothing else can compare to. Do you know what that is, father?"
Kurt's heart skips a beat. Is that all? Does Blaine truly only wants Kurt's jewels?
"That is the prince. Prince Kurt is the house's crown jewel."
Prince Kurt nearly squeals in a very un-princelike manner.
"Many princes have asked to wed him and-"
"And you wish to keep him as yours?" the king asks with an expression of disdain.
"No, father. I wish that he will take me as his."
Prince Kurt grins. His perfect, perfect Blaine.
"I love him, and he loves me, father. King Hummel has already given us his blessing."
The room is silent for a moment, and Kurt wishes he could see the king's face.
"Son, you know I want you to be happy-"
"Please don't continue this sentence with the word 'but'," Prince Blaine huffs.
"I will have to discuss this with the king of Lima first," says the king.
"Thank you, father," Blaine says quietly, and Kurt can hear the smile in his voice.
We will unite the house of Hummel and the house of Anderson, Blaine once promised him with a hushed voice and a soft kiss. And we shall live happily ever after.
Kurt believes it, with all of his heart.
