Okay, so let's keep going. Thanks for reviewing, Ali6132, Derpimelt1000 and the guest reviewer (my favourite pairing is Aleheather).
I was about ready to kill Scott after the next challenge. But let me start from the beginning.
Chris merged the teams, crushing our cabin, but letting us get everything out and move it into the new cabin. Zoey and I would have to share a cabin with Jo again, and Scott, Mike and Cameron would move in with Lightning.
Still, although I couldn't get all my stuff out of the wreckage, I was proud I'd made it to the merge. To be honest, although I'd said I was in it to win it, I had never seriously thought about what would happen. Nothing much changed, really, in the dynamic of the game. I was glad to be free of Scott, finally, and my friendships didn't really change. I was still a little awkward but friendly with Cameron, besties with Zoey, and friendly with Mike.
After I'd moved what was left of my stuff, I set up my bunk. I shared with Zoey again, but since I had the top bunk in our old cabin, I let her take the top.
Mike seemed to have better control over his personalities, much to Zoey's happiness. "Zoey, you have got to tell him." I remarked to her when we were on our own. "You two are like the perfect couple, and the only reason you guys haven't hooked up is because you're both too shy."
Zoey gave a sigh. "I know, but there never seems to be a time. And now with the merge, it's just going to get awkward, now we're competing against each other. And," she looked at me. "Anyway, what's going on with you? Ever since you admitted to Cameron how you felt, you guys have been avoiding each other. You guys used to hang out all the time for most of the first week, but now you don't ever. I don't want that to happen."
I sat down on my new bed, sighing. Zoey paused, and then leapt down from her bunk and sat down with me. "Look, Shannon, do you want me to talk to him?" she offered. "I won't let on that you've told me about the situation. I'll just tell him that I've noticed you acting awkward and that I think you miss him. You do, right?"
I nodded forlornly. Zoey gave me a reassuring smile and promised to talk to him later.
Then it got to the challenge. Chris told us that it was going to be about tagging things – graffiti art. As he spoke, Chef wheeled up an old contestant, strapped with a mask on.
"To show you how it's done," Chris said, "I give you Total Drama's favourite juvenile delinquent...Duncan! He still owes me some camera time for skipping out on World Tour, so I reserved an extra painful challenge demo, just for him!"
Duncan was one of the most recognizable contestants, with his electric green mohawk. I personally thought he was pretty much a douche, since after getting dragged back to World Tour, the first thing he did was kiss Gwen in the confessional, even though he hadn't broken up with his now ex-girlfriend Courtney. I also didn't like the fact that it was his idea that Alejandro seduce Courtney to distract her, and to make Heather jealous because she had a thing for Alejandro and she was already mad because Courtney was throwing challenges so they could vote off Gwen.
"Eat dirt, McLean." Duncan said, sounding only mildly annoyed.
"No, that's your job." Chris replied mockingly. Anyway, he explained our challenge. First, we'd have to search Chef's kitchen for keys that worked Chef's go-karts, which we'd have to grab, something Chef wasn't too happy about.
Finally, they wanted Duncan to demonstrate. But the minute Chef let him go, Duncan pulled his mask off and made a run for it. "Later, losers!" I couldn't help laughing myself. Luckily, it was drowned out by Duncan's manical laughter.
At that moment, I saw Scott pull Mike to one side and whisper something to him. Mike whispered something back, and I knew immediately what was going on.
I caught Mike's eye and mouthed "That's why you should tell Zoey."
But no. I was OK with it, Cameron was OK with it, but Mike was so desperate not to let Zoey find out that Scott was able to control him.
Everyone went looking for the keys straight off. Except Scott. I could hear them talking.
"Mike, open that broom closet for me." Scott ordered.
"Do it yourself."
"Oh, Zoey..." called out Scott. She couldn't hear, but it was enough to make Mike do it. He even had to give up on helping Zoey, leaving me to help her pull away from some mutant in a bucket that was currently pulling her into it.
Lightning was the first to find a key, but I found mine not long after, and we were ready to get to the next part. We were given a can of spray paint and a GPS map of the the island. Our mission was to tag three landmarks – Mt Looming Disaster, the tree in the Haunted Forest, and the top of the totem pole. And we had to steal the go-karts from Chef.
The winner would get immunity and their choice of who was eliminated. Well, basically, immunity was useless if they got to choose who went.
Chef was scary, but I was lucky. My height made me less noticeable and I grabbed a go-kart that went rather smoothly.
Zoey got to the first landmark first. She sprayed a pink heart, but I was right behind her. I sprayed a crimson S next to her heart.
"Nice one, Zoey, Shannon." Cameron said as he pulled up.
"Thanks!" Zoey called as she ran back to her kart.
"Good luck, Cam!" I added as I zoomed off, trying to go just that little extra ahead of Zoey.
"One of us is so totally going to win!" I grinned. To be honest, I didn't mind if Zoey won. She wouldn't eliminate me. And if she did win, I could try to convince her to vote off Scott.
This time, I got to the tree first, and I had finished spraying the S just as Zoey began her heart.
I quickly drove straight for the totem pole. As I did, Chris' face appeared, and a weirdly stilted message came up to tag Mt Chrismore.
"Only after I get the totem pole." I muttered, not changing my course. Zoey was still right behind me, but I was in the lead, climbing.
"Mike, give me a boost!" I heard an annoying voice order from below. Mike and Scott had just arrived.
"Stop helping him and help yourself!" Zoey called down.
"Stop listening to Scott, Mike!" I called. "The alternative is better!" I meant telling Zoey about his personalities. But it didn't mean we could do anything. Scott shoved me aside as he climbed, making me slip back down, although I landed on my feet since I was still against the pole. He then threw his spray can at Zoey before she could tag her heart. She hung on to one of the wings sticking out from a piece of the pole. And this time, Mike decided to help Zoey instead of towing Scott's go-kart, which I now realized he'd been doing all this time.
"Fine." Scott said slyly. "I'll just get a lift from someone else!" As he spoke, he tore off Mike's shirt, activating the Vito trigger.
I groaned as Mike gasped, and his hair flattened. "No!" I screeched. 'No, no, no, this can't be happening!"
But it happened. Vito was there, and he turned to Scott. "Yo, bro, you seen Anne Maria?"
Zoey gasped, too.
Scott manipulated Vito into taking him to the last landmark, as I tried to stop him. "Vito, he's lying! Anne Maria isn't even on the island any more!" I hissed in a low voice, adding, "Zoey's in danger!"
But it didn't seem like he could even hear me. Maybe it's because Scott was pressing the horn on his go-kart, drowning me out, but the 'Zoey in danger' trigger didn't work.
I climbed my way back up and sprayed my S, and was about to help Zoey when she fell, landing on Cameron's go-kart that had just pulled up, landing him at the top of the pole. "Thanks, Zoey!"
"Can't talk!" Zoey called back. "Gotta go punch Mike, or Vito, or whatever his name is."
I jumped into my own go-kart. "Wait, Zoey! There's something I need to tell you something about Mike!"
"I don't care!" Zoey called. "There's nothing that can fix this." She was furious, I could see that.
But when we pulled up at Mt Chrismore, we found Mike/Vito unconscious. Zoey didn't even realize at first, yelling "Mike, we are done! Not that we even started, you-"
"Zoey, don't! He's unconscious, and I have to explain-" I broke off, seeing her concern for him returning when she saw him slumped against the kart.
Before our eyes, suddenly, Mike was on his feet, beating himself up.
Cameron came up, and he gasped. "He's fighting his multiple personalities for control!"
"Multiple personalities...?" Zoey repeated.
"That's what I was trying to say, Zoey!" I told her. "I promised Mike I wouldn't tell, but it was the only way you'd understand...I knew Mike was making a mistake by not telling you..."
"Can you hear me?" Zoey called to Mike. "MIKE!"
Finally, he came back to consciousness.
"Mike, are you OK?" Zoey asked.
Although he was shirtless, Mike's hair went back to it's usual spiky hairstyle. "Better than OK. I won!" He took her hands in his. "Zoey, listen, my characters...they're not just for show. I have multiple personalities." he blurted out.
"Yeah, I know." Zoey admitted, "Cameron and Shannon just told me."
"Sorry!" called Cameron and I at the same time.
"But you were going to lose her if I hadn't said anything!" I added.
And just as I'd known, Zoey didn't mind. She understood Mike better now, and now that she knew for sure that he liked her, it seemed like they would be the perfect couple, just as I'd always known.
Just as I watched, Lightning suddenly appeared, and drew a light red lightning bolt right across Mt Chrismore.
"My face!" Chris and Chef pulled up.
Chris was furious. As it turned out, we weren't supposed to mark the place after all. "You fell for an obvious prank by Duncan."
"Sorry, bro." Duncan appeared from behind one of the rocks. "That wasn't me." He held up a remote and pressed the button, blowing up most of the face. "Now that..." he chuckled, "That was me."
Well, it was Chris. "Nice work!" I called to Duncan. "If you would just try apologizing to Courtney, I might actually like you."
As it turned out, the prank was actually something Chef had done, because Chris made us steal his go-karts and he was furious about it. I was pretty impressed. Chef was tough, but usually he stood by Chris loyally.
But it didn't matter. Scott had tagged the totem pole first – he'd won, and he got to choose who got kicked off that night. We all gathered at the bonfire, as usual.
"Scott, eliminate the player of your choice!" Chris said cheerfully, adding in a stage whisper "Choose Lightning!"
"No!" cried Lightning. "Eliminate Jo! He's a rat!"
Scott stood up calmly. "Eeny, meeny, miney, mo, who's the biggest lose-i-o? It's...Mike!"
Zoey gasped. So did I.
"Thanks for towing me to victory!" Scott added, laughing.
Before Mike left, I ran and gave him a hug. "Bye, Mike." I said quickly. "I'll see you at the finale." But I let Zoey go to the dock herself to say goodbye, although I heard Chris' goodbye comment.
Ugh, he was so obnoxious. "Well, Mike, it's been nice knowing you. All four of you. Or is it five? So hard to keep track."
I ran back, and immediately found Scott. "Hey, Scott!" I called in my sweetest tone. I kept a bright smile on my face.
Scott turned and walked back. "Well, hey there, sweetheart. What's made you so happy?"
"Oh, just the fact that I have an excuse to do this!" I said, kicking him in the crotch as I spoke. Scott doubled over.
I kept smiling sweetly. "I warned you. Wait until I get in proximity of a razor and a volcano – I meant it when I said I'd push you off the side of a building, coat you in lava and shave all that red hair off."
Then I walked away.
Yeah, I wouldn't mind doing that to Scott, either. Please review!
Also, I have made a decision. I have been thinking about writing Shannon into All-Stars, and I would like to know...what do you think she is, Hero or Villain? The fact that her closest friends are Heroes and she doesn't like Scott or Jo shouldn't come into this. Also...spoiler for the next chapter...Shannon isn't above manipulation at times. So, which team do you expect her to be on, and what reaction would you expect for her if she is NOT on the team you expect her on?
