I died.

Go back and read the author's note!

When I look at the board, my breath gets caught in my throat. I choke for a second and cough harshly.

Tris will be fighting somebody today. And not just anybody.

Molly.

After Edward was "Taken out" by either Drew or Molly, the number of initiates evened out. Myra decided to stay in honor of Edward, but we all know she won't last long.

I looked at the board again.

Peter Christina

Will Al

Molly Tris

Drew Myra

I quickly turn from the board to look for Molly. I see her in the distance, also staring and board in shock. I walk toward her to speak to her. She looks me in the eye and I instantly know that she is willing to hurt Tris to get to the top. It's not like I could do anything about it. What would I say? If I asked her to not hurt Tris she would suspect something. And considering Tris and I now want the relationship secret, it wouldn't be the best idea.

"Good luck." Molly says, when I stand in front of her.

"Same to you." I say, looking at the floor.

"Oh trust me." She says. "I don't need it."

I was slightly offended by the way she underestimated my girlfriend. I decide to play along, just so that she didn't suspect anything.

"Just go easy on her okay? Keep in mind she's a stiff."

Molly laughs at my joke a little too loud and attracts attention from all around the room. Christina looks in our direction, smirking. She thinks Tris and I are still broken up. Ha.

I certainly was ready for our fight. She would get it. It was fortunate our fight was first.

Molly stops laughing to breathe. When she is done, her facial expression slowly faded into a serious one. "I miss you." She says, placing her hand on my shoulder.

"Drew does too." She continued, raking a hand through her hair.

I looked down at the floor. "You and Drew were the ones to dump me."

She looked at me sternly. "At the time you were distracted by the stiff." She defended herself immediately, obviously offended. "You choose her over us."

My head snapped up instantly. Was she seriously blaming this one me? Who was she to judge? What was I supposed to do? Apologize for my feelings? For being human? Being a previous Candor, it was hard to keep my thoughts bottled up.

"You're right." I start. "I don't even know why I was interested..." As each word slipped out of my mouth the bitterness did too. I hated talking about Tris this way. She was better than that. So much better.

"Whatever." Molly says. She obviously didn't buy it. That was fine with me.

"Line up!" Four calls everyone to the arena. "First up! Peter and Christina!"

I step into the arena, where Christina is already waiting for me with a grin. Sadistic freak.

She charges at me at full speed and is able to take me down. Not the best idea. I knee her in the gut forcing her to get off. She stumbles when I get her off and I take this advantage to hit her in the abdomen. She let's out a pain filled scream. She hit's me in the jaw with great impact. Out of anger, maybe. She hits me again, sharper, in the chest. I block my upper body before she can do any damage there. I hit her in the face. Hard. I was sure I heard the crunch of something breaking.

"Stop it!" She screams, covering the spot where I hit her. "Please." She said breathing heavily. I looked her in the eye and saw nothing but pain.

I didn't feel bad for her. After all, I felt much worse when she broke Tris and I up.

Eric wasn't here. Four would probably agree to stop the fight.

I didn't hold back when considering the final blow that makes red liquid flow from her nose.

"Done." I hear Four say. "Go get cleaned up." He tells Christina, a look of pity on his face. She quickly nods at him and exits the arena. But not before giving me a sharp glare. As she exits, not once does she stumble.

As I exit, I pass Tris. We make I contact for just a second but I think I catch her sighing.

Al and Will's fight is quick and painless, Will throws a few punches, and Al pretends to be finished. Eric would not have been satisfied.

It was time for Molly and Tris's fight.

Molly was the first one in the arena. Desperate to get her hands on my girlfriend. I growled at the thought. I didn't want Molly hurting her.

As Tris entered, I noticed something. Something different. Tris didn't seem scared. She seemed...angry.

"Was that a birthmark I saw on your left cheek, stiff?" Molly taunted.

I would punch her if I could.

Surprisingly, soon later into the fight, Tris does.

Get a few actually. A few turn into Tris beating Molly brutally while she was done.

"Stop!" Four yells, pulling Tris off of Molly. "Maybe you should take a walk." He places a hand on her shoulder.

"I'm good." She says, breathing heavily. "I'm good now."

I take notice of how Four grabs her off Molly and jealousy takes over.

Tris leaves the arena and walks out the building.

Without thinking, I follow her.

"Tris!"

I catch her attention before she can use the crosswalk.

"What happened back there?" I asked walking up to her and soon coming to a stop. "Was it about the bathroom thing?" I continue.

She laughed sarcastically and looked and me like I was speaking Pig Latin. "Are you serious right now, Pete?" She said looking me, her eyes getting shiny. I pulled her close.

"Yes it was because of the bathroom thing and something else." She frowned. I looked her straight in eye. I hated seeing her sad.

"What?"

"It's Molly. I saw her flirting with you. She obviously likes-"

I cut her off with a groan of frustration. "Goodness Tris!" I throw my head back dramatically.

"You honestly have nothing to worry about, baby!" I say with a smile. "I already told you I love you differently than I love her! How much convincing do you need?" She cracks a smile at this and I can't help but smile bigger. "I love you."

"I love you too, baby." She giggles slightly and snuggles into my chest, tightly I might add, almost as if it would be her last.

"What's wrong?" I ask, squeezing just as hard.

"I won't get to hug you in front of others." I instantly understand, and bring he head out out of my chest and kiss her like I could lose her any second. Being in a secretive relationship sucked. I immediately remembered myself not exiting the smartest way.

"Shit!" I said aloud, breaking the kiss in the process.

"You okay, baby?" Tris asked, looking up at me.

"When I followed you out here...everybody...kinda...saw..." I answered, biting my lower lip.

"Just be more careful." She said, pushing a lock of hair behind my ear and resuming kissing me.

I grab the back of of her pants and I can tell she's blushing.

"Can I show you something?" She asked, breaking the kiss once again. She indeed, was blushing. I smiled. I nodded at her, making her continue. She looked around. "It would be best if I didn't show you in public." I knew exactly what she meant. We've already been hiding it terribly enough. "I'll show you at in the dorm, during dinner so it'll be empty." She explained. "We have to get back."

I sighed out of sadness, knowing that she was correct. I would probably be in trouble. Who am I kidding, I was in trouble. Four dismissed Tris, not me. "You go first. I'll come in later so that they don't suspect we were together." Tris says.

"I wouldn't want you being outside and alone." As I said this, she looked anywhere and everywhere my face. I cupped it gently with my palm. "I care about you."

She rolled her eyes. "You shouldn't worry so much." She says. looking me in the eye. I had to laugh at this.

"Funny. I remember telling you the same thing about Molly..." This makes her blush harder than before.

"Shuddup." She says, slightly grinning, knowing that I was right. I laugh harder at her and peck her gently on the forehead. She was too cute. "I'll go then." She finally agrees and pecks me on the cheek before turning to head to the Dauntless Headquarters.

I would too soon, but I had so visit a few initiates first.

Later on in the day. At night. In the hospital. (Specifically an hour before dinner)

I take a deep breath before entering the room, knowing that this is the right thing to do.

I open the door and I was sure that I've never felt worse about my self.
