Countdown
Soapy water is trickling down Kurt's back, and he lets himself give into the warm pleasure. The morning shower doesn't even wake him up as much as it makes him sleepier, but it's Friday and he doesn't have class until noon, so he doesn't mind.
The bathroom door makes a telltale squeak, spinning on its joint at it opens. Steps approach, and Kurt turns around in time to greet Blaine with a sleepy smile.
"Good morning," Blaine says, drowsy and warm as he steps in the shower.
Kurt kisses him, just for a single, sweet second, and says, "Good morning."
Blaine nudges Kurt so that he can enjoy the water stream as well, and brings his hands up to Kurt's hair, running his fingers through it and washing away the shampoo. Kurt closes his eyes, basking in Blaine's gentle touch and humming a song under his breath.
It takes Blaine a moment before he catches up on the song and starts singing along, making Kurt grin and pull him in for another kiss.
"Kurt?"
"Mmm?"
"Did you know that we're getting married in one hundred forty seven days?"
He's taken to telling Kurt the exact number of days left, every single morning since they'd officially set the date.
"I love you, too," Kurt replies, squeezing Blaine's hips under his fingers. "My beautiful husband-to-be."
