I don't own Divergent. Btw I HAVE A NEW NICK NAME FOR TRIS. "Triscuit." Help me find a way for Peter to find out about the name and use it! xD Cheesy, I know. :D
I quickly pull away from Tris.
I look at the door. It was for a fact, Al.
He had dropped the bokay that he had been holding.
My mouth was wide open, yet no words came out.
"Please don't tell anybody!" Tris said, a nervous expression on her face. "Please, Al."
He closed the door and sat on the other side of Tris. He closed his eyes and sighed.
"I won't tell anybody, just tell me what's happening." He said, looking me in the eye. He wanted me to answer. I gulped. "Me and Tris are dating again." I say, bringing my fingers through my hair. "Only this time we don't want anyone too know." I concluded.
"Everything makes sense now." He said, slightly smirking. "So far you guys have been doing an awful job."
I grinned lightly. "I know."
Al looked directly at me. He was laughing. I was almost used to not being glared at by him.
"But seriously," He started. "You guys suck at hiding."
Tris snickered. I had to laugh. It was true. I was sure anybody could cover up our tracks better than us.
His attention shifted to Tris. He grabbed her hand and pulled it into his lap.
"You okay?" He said, pushing a lock of hair behind her ear.
She nodded. "Yeah, I'm fine."
I got jealous of the affection that he showed towards Tris.
"I noticed you came in with flowers." I said, hoping that he would release her hand to go retrieve the bokay that he dropped when he came in.
"You're right." He said, letting go of her hand.
As soon as he did, I brought my lips to Tris's. I made sure to put place my hand on her waist and slightly pull her shirt up, revealing her tattoo of my name. It was my smile that broke the kiss.
Al awkwardly gave the bokay and headed for the door.
"I guess I should leave you guys alone." He scratched his neck. "I won't tell anyone."
When he left the room Tris immediately shoved me.
"Peter!" She yelled.
I looked her in the eye, and tried to keep my smile off of my face.
She looked at me with a raised brow. "Why'd you do that?"
I clutched her hand to my chest.
"He needed to be put in his place." I said, "You're my girlfriend, not his." I replied.
She blushed lightly and looked away.
I kissed her on the neck.
She giggled and faced me again, allowing me to kiss her, this time, on the lips.
"Up!" I hear a voice yell. It was beyond tired. The first thing I looked at was the clock. 5:00.
"Everybody get dressed." Four said, turning the lights on. "You guys have 3 minutes to meet us on the track." He said.
I slowly stepped out of bed and opened my dresser.
Before exiting the room, I looked at the board that was put inside of our room. It was the rankings from yesterday's test.
1. Peter
2. Will
3. Christina
4. Tris
5. Molly
6. Drew
7. Al
8. Myra
Tomorrow, Myra would be leaving us.
"I'll take Tris." Four said, signaling her with two fingers. As she walks to him, jealousy struck me harder then lighting. I had no reason to be jealous, but I was.
Max stepped up, after Eric...expired. He said that he would help out with the transfers until somebody else was hired to take Eric's place.
"Peter." Max called. I walked up to Max, and stood in front of him, being the first one in Max's line.
Four shrugs. "Christina."
"Molly." Max calls. She comes up behind me and I am sure that I can feel her eyes boring into the back of my head.
"Will." Says Four, biting his thumbnail.
"Al."
"Drew."
"Last one left is Myra. So she's with me." Max says, sighing.
"Dauntless-born initiates next."
As soon as the rest of our team in called, when ran our separate ways, but not before getting a gun of our choice, and stocking on paintballs.
"Who's gonna guard it?" One of the Dauntless-born initiates from my team had asked, once we had reached a secretive area.
"I will." I said, without a second thought.
It wasn't going to be the easiest task ever, but it was certainly worth trying. I stepped up to the initiate that asked the question as he held out the flag.
"See that tower over there?" He said, pointing to a large, slim, structure, and biting his lip. "Hide it there."
I quickly nodded and snatched the flag out of his hand, running to the structure. I was sure not many people would guess there. I had to admit, it was a clever hiding spot. When I reached the tower, I expected a long flight of steps, leading to a trapdoor at the top.
My prediction could have not been more true. I stumble multiple times before reaching the top, where I stand, waiting for somebody to see the flag.
Minutes passed. I yawned and stretched out.
I could see why nobody else volunteered. It seemed a lot more fun being in the action.
I heard the trapdoor open. I immediately pointed my gun in their direction.
"It's me." Myra said, putting her hands up in defense.
I put my gun down and helped her up.
"The team needs you." I say, looking Myra in the eye.
She shook with sarcastic laughter. "We both know I'm little to no use to them."
I didn't argue. I knew that it was true. Ever since she joined the Dauntless, she has always been on the bottom of the list. She would be leaving tomorrow. I pitied her. But at the same time, I was happy that I wasn't. Or Tris.
She sat on the floor. I was going to do this same, but something had distracted me.
It was two figures climbing the Ferris wheel.
I grabbed the railing and pushed my upper body over it.
It was Tris.
And Four.
Only he was farther down. He was afraid of heights. I smiled to myself.
He must have been in Hell.
She slipped on one of the rungs and I gasped momentarily and bit my nails nervously. Luckily, he caught her just on time.
I growled at how quick he was to grab her waist.
Then I remembered.
Her tattoo.
I prayed that he didn't see it.
"What's wrong?" Myra said, sitting up, and looking from the railing, just as I was. She was looking for what I was looking at.
When she saw it, her eyes widened.
"They see our flag!" Myra says, pointing to them.
They saw us indeed.
Four started climbing down instantly. I saw Tris do the same.
One of the bars Tris steps on breaks and she is left dangling, her feet swinging in midair.
