Did you like the last chapter? I thought I'd post these together because they both just...Urrr...Errmmmm...Be quiet I wanted to, okay?
Hi there.
If you don't go back up there and read that Author's note, I am going to kill of Tris.
Tris: SAVE ME!
Your choice, read it, or she gets it.
Peter's POV.
I place Tris and I's trays on the table of the booth that we sit at. I can feel the tension between us. Surely she would ask about Winter. I sighed quietly to myself. I wanted to get it over with.
We both sit at the booth and she starts to pick at her food.
"Are you okay?" I ask, picking up a french fries and popping it into my mouth.
She nods. "I'm fine."
I look her in the eye and grabbed her hand. She was fidgeting. "I can tell that you're lying." I say. "I used to be Candor."
She looked up at me and sighed. "What's up with you and the girl?" She asked. "You seem like you knew each other."
I nodded. "We do."
She looks away.
I knew what she wanted me to say. "We dated for a period of time." I said, brushing her nails. "It's not like it matters anymore."
It was true.
Winter was nothing but another factionless to me.
I know that I wasn't the nicest to her outside, but I didn't care.
She had done much worse. She was capable of many things.
She was originally from Erudite, not Candor, which means that she would not always tell the truth. She had a pretty face. Manipulative. She could make you believe that she was in love with you within 5 minutes, then make you feel the exact opposite in 3.
She was a daring girl. It was only in her nature. I used to find it wonderful. I used to find her wonderful.
I stared at her from a distance, reading textbooks with a group of Erudite at a lunch table.
She was beautiful.
Her chestnut hair was pulled back, exposing her stunning features.
High cheekbones, round hazel eyes, plump lips, and button nose.
I sighed to myself.
Christina noticed and looked at what I was. When she saw it, she grinned. "Ohh...Somebody's got an Erudite crush." She said, smiling flirtatiously.
I rolled my eyes. "Whatever, Chris."
I snapped back to reality.
Tris looks at me, a look of sadness in her eyes. "I think she still likes you."
"I don't care." I say. "When are you gonna stop worrying about things like this?" I continue, pushing a lock of hair behind her ear. "It gets upsetting."
She shrugs her shoulders. "Excuse me for caring."
I pick up my cup and take a sip of water. "I doubt you have to worry about a factionless girl stealing me from you."
She brightened up a little. "M'kay."
I lean over the table and press my lips against hers. She smiles into the kiss and grabs the back of my head, making the kiss stronger. She pulls away, giggling.
"Your mouth tastes like fries." She says, releasing my head. "And blood." I laugh, sitting back down. I'd tell her about me biting to death later.
We get stares from around the cafe, but none of them look familiar, so I don't worry. Tris takes one of my french fries pops it into her mouth.
If was cute how she ate. Using her incisors to chew, and the molars to finish it off.
When we finish our meals and exit the restaurant, I hear her giggling.
"What's up with you?" I asked, smiling down at her.
She looks up at me, and grins. "Today was fun." She said, pecking me on the lips. I smile brighter when we pull apart.
"Pete!" I hear a voice call my name. I recognize it, it sounded familiar, but I didn't know who it belonged too.
A young girl came rushing out of the cafe with a smile on her face. Tris pulled away from me, and the young girl hugged me. I looked down at her, and instantly recognized her shiny black hair.
It was Alzas.
"I saw you today!" She said, pulling out of the hug to look up at me. "On the err...zip-line thingy."
I remembered gliding in the air, pumping my fist and screaming to the top of my lungs. The memory sticks around in my mind for a little while longer, forcing me to smile.
"I saw you too." Alzas says, pointing to Tris.
Tris awkwardly smiles at her.
I looked at Tris. "Her name's Alzas." i said, grabbing her hand.
"Hi Elzas." Tris says, smiling.
Alzas rolls her eyes. "It's Al-zas." She says. "What are you, deaf?"
I give Alzas a look and lean in close to her ear. "Listen here, little girl, don't you dare talk to her that way or I will make sure that..." I couldn't think of a threat, so instead I said in my most chilling voice,
"...Chainsaw..."
She false shivered. "Ohh, I'm soooo scared." Then she rolled her eyes and looked back at Tris.
"It's okay, people always mistake my name." She said, teasing her hair with her fingers.
I sighed.
Suddenly a man came out of the cafe, a panicked looked on his face.
I then realized that it was my dad.
"Alzas!" He calls, a look of anger on her face. "I told you too wait for me!" He said, the stress marks in his forehead deepening.
I held back a laugh. This was Alzas alright. She was one of the most hard-headed people that I knew. She could be kind, gentle, decent, believe it or not, as long as you didn't mess up with her. Something as simple as mistaking her name was a problem with her.
"Sorry, dad." She said. "I saw Peter."
My dad's eyes focus his on me, but I see them drift towards Tris and I's intertwined hands.
