I kinda stole this from Insurgent. SPOILER WARNING.

Tris looked at me from across the table. She knew what I was thinking.

I held her gaze out of want. When it drops I feel longing.

Christina eats a salt-dipped fry and gags. "Not as good as I thought it would be." She said, immediately spitting it out.

I laughed.

Christina gave me a look, but I didn't stop.

I see her serious expression crack and she giggles silently.

When our laughing calms down, I cut another piece of Dauntless cake and pop it into my mouth. It is only after doing so that I realize Christina and I were the only ones laughing.

She and I don't speak for the next few minutes.

Suddenly, Uriah comes and joins our table, a large grin on his face.

Tris rolls her eyes. "Don't you start." She says, raising an eyebrow.

He sticks his tongue out at her. "Whatever." He says. He looks at Christina's plate. "Nice fries, Chris."

"Don't you start." Christina says, just as Tris said seconds ago.

Uriah scoffs. "You guys suck."

Suddenly, Marlene appears, along with Zeke and two other girls, one with short hair; not even reaching her ears. They were all from the capture the flag activity, and the ritual.

"Hey Peter!" Marlene said excitedly, winking at me.

I smiled.

She remembered my name.

"Hi Marlene." I replied.

She put her plate on the table, and sat next to Four. "Hey, big guy." She said, eyeing Four.

My attention turns to Tris, who looks at me at the same time I do.

Marlene and Four have started a conversation, but Tris and I don't listen.

All through dinner Tris and I sneak glances at each other, and I slowly began to forget what Caleb said.

At one point I mock Alzas and twist my hair around my finger while scrunching up my nose.

She laughs loudly, drawing attention to her.

"What the Hell, Tris?" Zeke asks, trying to keep a serious face, and failing miserably. "Has initiation finally gotten to you?"

I crack a smile.

"No," She responds, attempting to calm her laughing. "I just thought of something really funny." She said.

He smirked. "Sure."

She blushed deeply.

I smiled at her and felt her hand under the table. I grasped it quickly and smiled.

She stopped laughing and smiled back. I could feel her stroking my hand and smiled wider.

I looked away from her. Surely people would start to suspect something, Tris already drew attention to herself.

I run my tongue over my lip, instantly flinching. It stung.

I wasn't sure how I was going to kiss Tris after this.

"Oh my gosh!" Christina yells.

I am caught off guard causing me and Tris to release each other's hands.

"You must truly think we're idiots, don't you?" Christina says, glaring at me.

She was back, the Christina that glares at me, even if I wasn't sure what I did myself.

The girl that laughed with me about the amount of salt on her fries was foreign.

"What?" I asked, acting oblivious.

She gave me a look. "You two." She said, pointing to me and Tris. "Disappearing at lunch, breakfast, and dinner? At the same time?" She scoffed.

I knew what she meant.

She knew.

I looked at her and shrug. "Coincidence."

Uriah nodded in agreement of Christina's statement. "You guys were on the train at the same time and not arguing." He said, grinning.

I slightly blushed and looked down. "I don't know what you mean."

Al poked me on the shoulder. I looked up at him.

"I kinda already told them.." He said in a low voice.

"Al!" Tris said, a look of disbelief on her face. "You promised!"

He turned red.

"Thanks a lot, Al." I said, dropping my fork.

He gave us a look of guilt. "I'm sorry guys." He said. "You haven't been interrogated by Christina, or Will." He shook his head. "Candor and an Erudite. They get it out of you."

I shrugged. I guess I could try to understand.

"We knew before Al told us." Christina says, poking at her fries with a fork. "It was pretty obvious." She snickered.

"Tris are you okay?" Christina mimicked me from the fight with Tris. She covered her chest and puckered her lips.

I rolled my eyes.

"Shut up." I scoff.

Marlene laughed and high-fived Christina. Tris blushed and looked down.

She turned to Christina. "You're not upset?" She asked, biting her lip.

Christina nodded multiple times. "Trust me, I am."

Tris shied away.

"Why would you guys hide this from us?" She asked, folding her arms. "Tris, I thought we were friends."

Of course she would exclude me from the last sentence.

I answered her question. "Because, you were the one to break us up the last time we were dating. We didn't want it to happen again."

Christina rolled her eyes. "I wasn't talking to you."

I put on my best Christina voice and mock her. "I wasn't talking to you."

She growled at me, but everybody else laughed.

"Wait, so you guys were still dating?" I instantly recognize her voice.

It was Molly, standing behind Christina, a glare in her features.

"Mhhm." Marlene says, laughing at me and ruffling my hair.

Molly frowned. "But, you said..."

"I"m sorry I had to lie to you, Molly." I said, looking at her.

Her eyes were shining. "Whatever." She said before storming off.

I felt guilty.

I was trying to get her back as a friend, not push her farther away.

I didn't mean too. I frowned.

Tris squeezed my hand under the table. I squeezed it back and grinned. I immediately felt better.

"You don't have to hold hands under the table anymore, we know."

I smile wider as I understand what he said.

I didn't envy Christina and Will anymore. I released the her hand and grabbed the back of her head.

She leans in slowly and so do I. She closes the space between us and I let her. When we pull apart, I hear shouting. Not the upset kind, but the Dauntless kind. Not just happy, but excited. Hoots.

Tris smiles at me and I pecked her on the mouth again, just because I could.

"Woo!" Zeke yells, clapping. We grin at him, and I Marlene begins to clap along.

And before I know it, Four slams his fist onto the table before standing up and exiting to the stairs.

Okay I said I kinda stole it...Well, who am I kidding. I completely stole it lol. xD I don't own Divergent, OR Insurgent.
