Enjoy Chapter 16 :)

"What?" Fang asked him. "What on earth are you talking about? Someone threatened you to kidnap Max and try to rape her?" I was practically shouting.

"What? No, no." He said quickly. "Hang on." He walked over and closed the door. I felt Fang stiffen.

"Max?" He said softly, "Stand up." I got up with his help.

The teacher, Mr. Fitzgerald, came back over to us. Fang pulled me into his side.

"Okay so I was told by Dylan's dad that I needed to scare Max out of town. That I needed to make her never want to come back. I kept telling him no and asking him why." He sighed. "He even offered me 10 grand." He looked at us. "That's how bad he wants you gone." He looked pointedly at me.

"But why?" Fang asked.

"I have no idea," he let out a big exhale of breath. "Max?" He questioned, "What did you do to make Dylan's dad want you gone so bad? Do you have any idea?"

I looked down. I did nothing to Dylan, if anything, MY dad should be threatening DYLAN to get out of town. Well that is, if my dad knew what he did to me.

I glanced back up at him. "I have no idea," I whispered. "I didn't do anything."

"You and Dylan dated a while back, am I right?" I nodded. "Could it have something to do with that? Did you break his heart or did you say something rude or untrue about him to someone?"

"No." I blushed. Thinking about when I told Fang what Dylan has done to me.

Fang spoke next, "So he offered you money to threaten Max?" He was angry, I could feel how tense he was.

"No, I said no to the offer. Max is a wonderful student and he has no right or reason to want her gone that I knew of. And I wasn't going to risk my job and her happiness for $10,000."

"So why'd you do it?"

"He threatened my pregnant wife." He shuddered, "She got an unknown call and she said it was a man and that he said some very gruesome things to her." He looked down at his feet. "I was so scared. At fist I was going to tell Max what I'm telling you two right now. But then I decided it might be better to just yell at Max and threaten her. I just- I don't want to lose my wife." HE coughed, holding back tears. "And I thought that if it worked and Max left, it would be a win win for everyone. He sounded so angry Max, maybe you really should leave town. He is a terrible man," He looked straight at me.

I saw the concern in his eyes, not just for his pregnant wife, but for me. That really scared me.

Fang was still tense. "Fang let's go to lunch." I said quietly.

He shook his head. "What else do we need to know about Dylan's dad? Max isn't running away but we will make sure he thinks you tried your hardest to get her out of town."

"I told you everything he told me. But I do know Dylan's dad is a lawyer. So he is intelligent and trained to get things what he wants." He looked at Fang. I already knew that. Which is exactly why I hadn't gone to the police.

"Okay, thanks. We are leaving." Fang said suddenly. Okay then. He pulled me out of the room.

"Where are we going?"

"Lunch." He said gruffly.

We went and grabbed lunch and he pulled me to the library.

"Max. I need to tell you something." He said without looking at me.

"What?"

"I overheard Lissa and Dylan talking. They are planning something together. Dylan was saying things to her about you. All these lies. But he told her that you asked for what he did to you." Fang stared at me intently. I think he was expecting me to get mad or sad or some type of reaction. But I just shrugged.

"I'm over this shit Fang." I stared right back at him. "I'm done crying like a baby. I'm a big girl. I can deal with this."

"Max..." He sighed, "I think you need to go to the police.

I nodded. His eyes widened, I think he was expecting me to argue. "You're right. I just don't want my mom to find out." I sighed.

Fang nodded, understanding. "I will go with you if you want. But they are probably going to want to talk to your parents."

I bit my lip. I sure hope they don't make me tell them. I just don't want my mom worrying. Or Jeb, he's going to want to act like he cares. Ugh. On the bright side, Jeb is very intimidating. I sighed. "Can we go after school? I need to get this over with."

He nodded, "I'll call my dad and let him know I won't be home right after school."

I smiled sadly at him, "Thanks," I whispered.

After school, I drove Fang and I to the police station. After I parked the car. I sat there. Fang went to get out of the passenger seat and then looked back at me. "I can't do this." I whispered.

He climbed back into the car and and reached over and grabbed my hand that was resting on the stick-shifter. "I'll be with you the whole entire time. I promise."

I looked into his obsidian eyes. Gosh, he is so sweet and gorgeous and everything I ever wanted in a guy. Why did I run to Dylan? Why couldn't I just wait for a good guy like Fang to come along. Now I will never love or be loved. All because of that bastard Dylan. Now I am going to take him down. Dylan and maybe I'd tell them about Robin too. I don't know yet. Maybe I would tell them everything.

We walked in hand-in-hand. I took a deep breath when the lady asked how she could help. "Can I talk to someone in private? I need to report someone..." I had no clue what I supposed to tell her. 'Oh hey, I've been raped twice last year and I want to tell on them now.' What if no one believes me oh god.

Fang must know what I'm thinking because his grip on my hand tightens.

"Okay," the lady says. She gets some of my information and asks for ID from both Fang and I. After about 10 minutes she says we can follow her back into a room. "Go ahead and take a seat, Detective Bennett will be with you in just a moment." She left a room and we took a seat on one side of the table.

The only thing in the room was a table, with two chairs on each side, a file cabinet, a mirror and another small table in the corner with a camera on it.

After a few minutes of us sitting there silently, a pretty woman walks in and shuts the door. She smiles at us and walks over. "Hello, I am Detective Bennett," she says sticking her hand out for me to shake.

I took it, "I'm Max." I smiled. "And this is F-Nick." Dang I do that every time.

Detective Bennett didn't notice though and she shook Fang's hand. "So." She stated, sitting down across from us. "What can I do for you two."

I couldn't answer so I looked at Fang. "You can do it Max," He whispered encouragingly. I looked up at the Detective and she looked back and forth between us.

"I don't know where to start or how to say this..." I said, extremely nervous. I could feel my entire head heating up. I think I started sweating.

"Start anywhere sweetie." She said soothingly. "Just state why you're here and I can ask questions from there?" She offered.

"Well uhh..." I started.

Then Fang blurted, "She was raped, like a year or so ago and she never told anyone." He looked over at me and I put my head down, humiliated. "Sorry, Max, but I knew you wouldn't be able to say that to her."

I nodded. Maybe it's better he said it for me.

Detective Bennett looked back at me, "Is this true, Max?"

I nodded. I looked down at my feet. I'm not going to cry. I'm not going to cry.

"So, who exactly hurt you honey?" She asked politely.

"A lot of people."

"But who raped you?"

"A lot of people."

"Could you please elaborate?" She asked. Writing something down.

"Well there were two times. The first time was a guy named Robin. That's all I know about him. There were multiple people with him and they all did things to me... I was intoxicated though so it is partly my fault." I mumbled.

Detective Bennett looked at my sadly, "No, it is not your fault that they took advantage of you. But yes, you were underage drinking which I do not approve of but that obviously doesn't excuse their behavior." She wrote more down, drew a line and turned the page. "Tell me about the second time you were hurt. We will come back to Robin."

"Well the second time, was my boyfriend at the time..." I whispered. "He blindfolded me and I just know it was him and at least 5 other people. I have no idea who they were." I sad quietly. Ugh, I'm on the verge of tears. You are not crying today, Maximum, I scolded myself.

"I know who." Fang said.

My eyes widened. What? "How could you possibly know?"

"I overheard Dylan telling Lissa what happened." He muttered.

Detective looked at Fang. "Who is Dylan and Lissa?"

"Well Dylan was her boyfriend who raped her and Lissa is sleeping with Dylan." Fang said.

"So who else was it?" Max whispered.

"Dylan said the names: Tyler, Randy, Jackson, Sam, Derek and someone else..." He ticked off his fingers with every name, realizing he was missing one. "I can't remember the name... Caleb? No... Kevin? No, K-"

"Kyle." I whispered, my eyes wide. No Kyle couldn't have been there.

"Yeah. Kyle."

The detective said that we should take a break and calm down a bit and and meet with a police officer. She hadn't asked Dylan's last name or anything yet. I assumed that was coming later.

Ooooohhhh who is Kyle?!

Review please! They are super encouraging. And I would loveee some constructive criticism.

And to those of you who threaten to kill me if I don't update... uhh it's kinda scary but it definitely makes me update ... so yeah.
