Disclaimer: I do not own the Lord of the Rings, only my two mentally insane OCs.

A.N: Urgh, school. Sorry guys. Little reminder "" is someone speaking, '' is thoughts and italics is someone speaking in another langue, usually Elvish.

After the Funeral

The room was surprisingly nice, if a little cold and sparse. But, there was a great big, bloody bed.

'Huzzah!'

"Thanks Éowyn!"

I cried by for taking a running start at the bed before leaping into it. I heard Éowyn's startled laugh before she closed it. I could feel her smile and grinned to myself. I rolled over and stared at the ceiling. So far the adventure was following the movie plot.

'Hm. So that means…'

I frowned to myself before shaking my head. I sat up and wrapped the blanket around myself, getting up, locked the door before I threw myself onto the bed. I then burst into violent sobs, slamming my hand over my mouth to stop people from hearing. I was completely and utterly miserable. My friend had just died and I was under a lot of pressure to save certain persons, I was in an incredible amount of pain, Megan was making my life a misery and I was being constantly mistaken for a man ever since I arrived here. Megan was exploiting this all the time by making snarky and cruel comments and no one had bothered to tell her off. Not even Gandalf or Gimli! What the hell man? I missed my friends who would probably kick all of Megan's teeth out, the consequences be damned. That's what I wanted, for people backing me up, being there for me and me being there for them. I wanted to be home, studying, working and wearing my own clothes, eating the food I wanted and do whatever I wanted whenever I wanted. I wanted to be surrounded by all the things that were mine, that were familiar. The crying lasted nearly an hour, which resulted in a massive headache, bloodshot eyes and still feeling completely and utterly heartbroken. So not worth it. I was not going to put up with this shit anymore.

I scrubbed my face at the basin, noting my red eyes and frowned. I firmly promised myself not to cry again and forced a grin onto my face. It made me feel better and the grin relaxed. I brushed my hair, blew my nose and stretched. There was a knock on door and I opened it. There was Éowyn, holding a piece of clothe in her arms.

"Come in!"

Éowyn entered, looking distraught but collected.

"I thought you might like this."

She unrolled it and showed to me. It was a black, long sleeved tunic with silver embroidery around the V-neckline and the sleeves.

"Oh, Éowyn! Thank you, it's beautiful."

I hesitated.

"Do you want me to do anything for you?"

Éowyn looked up and surprisingly hugged me. She started to cry and I sat her down onto the bed. She sniffed a few times and then wiped her eyes with the offered handkerchief.

"Thank you."

"For what?"

"For understanding. For not pitying me."

"Pleasure dear."

Éowyn laughed, a thin and uncertain laugh, at this before rising and saying she would be back for me. I nodded and dressed quickly. I already had the black pants and I put my now very long hair into a plait. I scowled at my reflection. I have always disliked my hair being long. It had a habit of getting in the way of things. I sighed, knowing that it would look odd if I went around asking for a pair of scissors to cut my hair with. I sighed for probably the twentieth time today and then looked up sharply when there was a knock on my door. It was Éowyn, looking worried. I walked next to her, making sure that she was ok.

'What a stupid question! Her cousin has just died. Duh!'

We left the hall castle thing together in a strained, uncomfortable silence. I prayed, in an ungracious manner, that it would be over as soon as possible.

It was horrible. He was incredibly young and it was painful to see him lying there, limp and pale. I grimaced as I shut the door and flopped down on the bed. I had to start planning what I was going to do in Helms Deep. I knew for certain now that this Middle Earth was based on the movie-verse and that changed things. I bolted upright and started scribbling in the back of my chemistry notebook in pencil. I realised that I couldn't do anything in any certain manner and gave up.

'Maybe I should do some equilibrium instead…'

"Oof!"

I fell onto my unfortunate rump and groaned in pain.

"I'm so sorry Legolas."

"Tis fine Nina."

'Huh, he knows my name.'

Legolas offered me his hand and I took it. He tugged me up like I weighed nothing. He looked anxious and there were faint frown lines.

"Is everything alright Legolas?"

"Yes Nina. Why?"

"Oh, nothing. I just thought you looked a little tired, that is all. Oh, could you show me where the dining hall is. I'm completely lost."

Legolas cracked a grin at my antics and we chatted about mundane things before reaching the hall, which was full of nervous men. Megan appeared again and I sighed.

"Bye."

"Ni-" But he didn't finish.

Megan shot me a warning look and made a cutting throat action at me behind Legolas' back. I then noticed that Legolas' eyes were slightly less cloudy.

'So that's why she so nervous. She's losing her touch.'

"We have to start moving now to Helms Deep." Aragorn was looking somber and worried.

"Sure. I'll get my stuff and start helping the others."

Aragorn nodded his head in appreciation before turning to leave. I ran around the room packing all my things before heading done the stairs and nearly slamming into Théoden.

"AH! Sorry." I blushed furiously.

Théoden shot me an amused looking before saying.

"Lady Nina-"

"Please just call me Nina."

Théoden's lips twitched into a small smile.

"Nina, could you please help the rest of the kitchen staff and pack the supplies."

"Sir yes sir!"

I saluted, clicking my heels together, making Théoden laugh before I ran off in the direction of the kitchen nearly making everyone in my path fall over.

The wolves of Mordor howled and leaped on the hills that they were hiding behind. I ran ahead of the group, throwing my knives at them before they could reach any of the civilians of Rohan. I ducked, stabbed and then rolled into a handstand before returning to an upright position. I dodged the next wolf, hitting a rock and hissing in pain as it jabbed my rib and I think I hit my head. I pulled myself up and sprinted towards the next one. Due to my mild concussion and being busying stabbing an orc, I missed however Aragorn going over the edge and Legolas shooting the orc in fury. But I found out and felt miserable and we marched on to the fort with a dark cloud hanging over us.

"YOU EEJOT!"

I roared, punching Aragorn's arm and then rugby tackling him into a hug.

"NINA!" choked Aragorn.

I laughed, strangling him even more around the waist before letting him go, grinning up at him merrily. Aragorn stared at me like I was insane before laughing and hugging me again. We separated grinning like eejots before moving back to the castle with Gimlí and Legolas. Megan was looking angrily at us and flounced away, Legolas noticing this and ran after her. The three of us sighed, but not before he threw us a glance over his shoulder.

"Hm. He's getting better." Noted Gimlí.

"Argh! Sorry, sorry."

'What the Hell is wrong with me? I've been running into everyone this past week!'

"Tis alright my lady."

"Oh, Haldir. Sorry I didn't recognize you for a moment."

Haldir smiled at me, his eyes sharp and clear which is always nice.

"How are you my lady?"

"I'm very well thank you. And you? Oh and please, call me Nina. It's weird, people calling me lady."

I pulled a face that made Haldir's lips twitched.

"I am well Lady Nina."

I raised an eyebrow but pushed him no further. I was about to say something when an elf came running into the room.

"Haldir, they are coming!"

"Huh?"

"The army is at our door."

"…oh."
