Four people were walking down the sidewalk. "Jace, she's not ready!" Izzy exclaimed as they walked down the concrete sidewalk. "She's twelve, she's in seventh grade, she's plenty ready! Jace shot back. Izzy stopped walking, her long black hair billowing around her pale frustrated face. Clary and Alec stopped, but Jace kept walking. He glanced back, sighed and turned around. Izzy pointedly scrunched up her face more. Jace sighed and looked at Alec and Clary. Alec shrugged, but to Jace's astonishment, Clary looked like she was holding back laughter. "Clary!" He said, she turned toward him, still smiling. "Wouldn't you have rather been told you were a Shadowhunter sooner rather than later?" He asked her pointedly. Clary's grin vanished, to be replaced with a look Jace knew well, Clary was thinking. "Ya…" she finally muttered, shooting an apologetic look at Izzy, who opened her mouth to say something else, but Alec, who hadn't said anything that whole time, got there first."Izzy, you guys have been at this the whole time. Enough already! Shut the hell up!" He exclaimed, "Both of you!" He added as Izzy shot him a glare. She whipped her hair around and started walking again. They all sighed and followed her. They reached a tan colored tri-level house with a dark brown shingle roof. Jace walked up the steps and turned towards the group. "Everybody have their illusions on?" he asked. Everybody nodded, Izzy somewhat disdainfully. Jace turned and knocked sharply on the brown wooden door. A lady with fawn brown hair answered the door. She stared straight at Jace's chest, clearly not seeing any of them. She shut the door, looking confused, but not before the group slipped unseen past her and into the house.
