hello everyone. this is a short chapter, sorry... I really put a lot of things in this story and I had such big plans for what was going to happen. But now I've forgotten and I'm not sure really where to go with it... I apologize for anyting that is contradicting. Like if I say somehting about someone and then it was different in earlier chapters. Please make me aware of any mistakes like that. I'm sure I've done that by now. I really appreciate the reviews though. They keep me motivated. I love you guys!

Max POV

I wake to a steady beeping noise in my left ear and a soft whispering in my right. I open my eyes slowly. Thankfully, the room is dark, only the dim setting sun shining through the window.

"Mom?" I croak.

"Hey," I hear, but it's not my mom.

"Fang?"

He smiles at me. He is so cute.

"What happened?" I mumble.

"Your gall bladder ruptured yesterday."

"Oh." I wrinkle my eyebrows. "Well it feels fine now." I say. I touch my midsection and feel something pokey. "Ow."

"Don't touch it. They had to remove it, those are stitches."

"Well I feel fine." I sit up and wipe my eyes.

"Stop moving, Max. You're going to hurt yourself." He pushed my head back down.

"I said it doesn't hurt." I mumble. Jeez.

"Because you're on tons of pain meds." He sets says something into the phone next to my bed but I don't listen.

"Mmmmm... Fang. What a weird name." I giggle. "Do you bite?" I laugh.

"Hey, don't make fun of my name, I thought we were past that?"

"Nope." I pop the 'P'.

He rolls his eyes and I close mine.

"Stay awake for the doctor Max."

"What doctor?" I don't see one.

"He is on his way."

"What time is it?"

"Noon."

"Why aren't you in school?"

"I was too worried about you."

I smile. "Well that's good. That you care about me, I mean."

"Hello Max." Says a female voice. "I'm Dr. Bridget." I look at her, with her naturally perfect curly red hair. She smiles at me.

I give a no-teeth smile.

"How do you feel?"

"Great. Fang won't let me sit up though because I will hurt myself but I feel fine."

She laughs and sits in the chair next to me. "Your medication will wear off in about a half hour. You were in a lot of pain after the surgery and we had to up your dosage a lot so you may feel a little bit out of it."

I nod. That explains my niceness and smiling. "Well I don't want more medicine."

"Okay, when it starts to wear off, you can let us know if you want more."

I shook my head. "I don't need it. I'm tough."

She smiles at me. I hate her. I give her a fake smile back.

Soon she leaves and I talk to my mom and then fall asleep.

I wake to people talking in my room. I groan, my whole upper body aches.

After another hour, I convince my mom to let me go for a walk.

She said Fang was down in the Cafeteria so I head there. What I see when the elevator doors open hurts me more than getting all of my unnecessary organs removed. My stomach lurches and I dry heave as my body wants me to throw up my empty stomach. I'm on my hands and knees, puking spit out onto the floor.

I feel hands wrap around me and lift me up. I take a deep breath and look into Fang's sorry eyes. I glance over at the woman he was just lip-locked with. My stupid freaking doctor. She looks like she's going to faint.

"Max." Fang murmurs.

"Don't," I whisper, exhausted. I just drained all energy I had left for the day.

"Max, I swear I didn't kiss her back. What you just saw-"

"Stop." I whisper, barely able to stay awake. My body just wants to give up so I let it.

"Max." Is all I hear before I drift away.
