Disclaimer: Let me check…nope still don't own Lot. What I do own is bassoon, a ton of music and a library's worth of music.

A.N: Sorry, sorry I know it has been forever but it unfortunately happens when you are in your final year of school and you have trials, art exhibitions and finals compressed within two months. You know the drill: "" is someone speaking, '' is someone thinking (usually Nina) and italics is someone speaking in another language. Also, there is a poll about the Sue, please vote as it will help this plot.

Reminiscences, suspicions and pleas for help.

I stared blankly at the ceiling and then rubbed my forearm over my eyes and groaned. I was thinking of home and how much I missed it. It would be autumn back home. I liked autumn. The trees would be alight with reds, oranges, yellows and gold's, the air would be crisp and cool. It was the perfect weather to snuggle down with a good book and a cup of tea. Anyanka, who was in the room next to me, would enter the room and curl up on the bottom of my bed. She was like a cat when she did that but she didn't purr, oddly enough. Thomas mosey in at some point and flop on my stomach causing me to whack him on the back of the head and Anyanka to glance up and raise an eyebrow. He would then and roll off and lean against the bed and eventually fall asleep. Owen would appear humming slightly and sit on the window seat and stare sleepily out the window. I would then eventually mumble why everyone was attracted to my room and it causing Owen and Thomas to snigger and a faint smirk to appear on Anyanka's impassive face. I brought myself firmly back to the present and rolled onto to my front and finally convinced myself to get up and get something to eat. I had just left the room when I heard a commotion downstairs. I sprinted down the stairs and burst into the hall to see Gandalf covering the palantír with a piece clothe, Pippin lying on the ground in horror, Aragorn shaking with shock and Legolas next to his friend watching him closely.

"What on earth happened?" I gasped and rushed forward to help Pippin to his feet as Merry hovered around me looking anxious.

Gandalf was berating Pippin but I wasn't listening, feeling more concern towards Pippin. Gandalf began demand questions from Pippin while I attempted to calm him and was about to treat him for shock, but soon deemed it unnecessary. He kept murmuring about a burning tree in the middle of a courtyard, leading to Gandalf figuring out that there was going to be an attack on Gondor, specifically Minas Tirith. Gandalf moved swiftly out of the hall followed by Pippin, who was still confused and shaken, and an upset Merry. I winced and then turned to see Legolas staring at me in a way that made me nervous. For a moment I wondered whether he was going to attack me, but then I realised that he was looking at me as though he was seeing me for the first time. He then started moving towards me, but Megan appeared and touched him.

'I wonder what that was about. I should have moved faster.'

I shook my head and then turned around to see Gimlí staring at me as well. He then turned away and left the hall, his axe sitting on his shoulder, it's blade glinting in the dull moonlight. I sighed and walked back to my room, Haldir and Caelon next to me, smiling at me but I did not feel like smiling. I had a vivid image of the Witch-king towering over a terrified Éowyn, a horse dragging back an unconscious Faramir and then suddenly the poor young man was surrounded by flames and Pippin pulling him from the flames and his father, running out across the courtyard and throwing himself off the ledge. I suppressed the urge to sigh again and rubbed my eyes. I hadn't been sleeping well recently and I was wondering whether that was from a lack of vitamin D or bad dreams that I couldn't remember in the morning. I said goodnight to the others as it was very early in the morning and fell into bed, hoping for a dreamless night but suspecting it wouldn't come.

I groaned at the incessant knocking and sat up and brushed my now short hair out of my face before getting up and opening the door a fraction. Caelon was standing there, fully dressed and alert.

"Whaa…?" I tried to make a coherent sentence but I struggled to.

Thankfully Caelon understood what I was attempting to say.

"Breakfast. It's late and it will finish soon."

"Oh. I'll get dressed now….I'll be out in a moment." I mumbled. Caelon smiled kindly at me and left.

I fumbled around, attempting to get dressed and twice, nearly fell on my face. I stumbled out of the room and collided with the solid form that was Caelon. He smiled at me, amused as I stuttered out an apology. He thankfully made no comment and merely linked arms with me and lead me to the hall. The look I got from Megan was both hilarious and impressive. If that glare was methylated spirits and I stood near a fire I would have burst into flames. I slumped gracelessly into a chair while Caelon sat next to me, disgustingly elegant as ever. I began to eat with gusto but soon stopped as my stomach alerted me to the fact that I was going to be full soon. I finished the plate and then leaned slightly onto Caelon's shoulder, who stiffened in surprised. I straightened up and slightly chided myself. Caelon was an elf and this was Middle-Earth. Caelon was not use to close female contact and was, in fact not the only male who was use to female who were not relatives or romantically involved with said person casually leaning on their shoulder.

"Sorry." I said, blushing.

"Tis fine Nina, I was just taken by surprise." Murmured Caelon.

I rubbed the back of my neck and giving Caelon a smile, tinged with embarrassment. Caelon looked away, smirking slightly just as Haldir arrived quickly followed by Gimlí. Haldir sat on my left and Gimlí opposite me. He was still looking at me with an odd expression on his clever face and I felt that he had a suspicion that there was something wrong with me. My oddities had been expected a long time ago and could be easily explained away, but I guessed that he knew something of where I was from, or where I was not from. I wasn't sure how to approach him and was unable to continue this thought when I saw something that took me by surprise. Legolas was shifting away from Megan's grasp as if he was discomforted by it. Megan, if the expression on her face was anything to judge by, completely astonished by Legolas' behavior. She shot me a cold, calculated look before turning her concentration back onto the unfortunate elf, who ceased his vague struggles. I knew that there would be no action for a day or two, so I got up and grabbed one of my books and sat in the sun in attempt to increase my depleted vitamin D levels. I was so engrossed in my book that I didn't realise that someone was standing next to me until they tapped me on the shoulder. I jumped in surprise and spun around. It was Legolas and he had the most peculiar expression on his face. It was a strange mixture of confusion and anger, and two other things. I thought that there was also desperation and fear in his eyes, but I couldn't be sure.

"Is everything alright Legolas?" I asked carefully.

He didn't answer, but instead sat down next to me.

"Do you mind?"

I shook my head and waited for him to speak.

"Oh, don't mind me, keep going with your book."

I resisted the urge to frown and ask him if he was feeling alright and kept reading. I suddenly realised that he was as tightly wound as a spring. I was well onto the next chapter when I realised that his knuckles, which were white, had colour returning to them. I decided to keep reading and wait him out. No need to make the poor lad anymore nervous than he already was.

"Nina?"

"Yes Legolas?"

"I…I…" he swallowed.

I looked at him in an encouraging manner.

"I need your help Nina. Will you help me?" There was a pleading tone in his voice now.

"Of course Legolas! What do you need me to do?"

"I don't know." The note of desperation in his voice was now very obvious.

He turned to face me fully now and he suddenly grabbed my upper arms. The look of fear in his eyes was clear and he scaring me now. His grip was strong and I was wondering if I would have bruises on arms later on.

"Legolas, darling there you are!" exclaim an all to familiar voice.

Legolas leapt away from me like I had burnt him but he kept looking at me from the corner of his eye.

"Hello Megan." I said icily.

Megan paused before ignoring me and taking Legolas firmly by the arm. He sent me one last pleading look and I mouthed to him: 'I'll help you. I promise.'

His terrified face was imprinted in my mind and I had meant what I had said, I would help him. It was the reason why I was here after all. I got up and walked into my room to think about this situation. It was going to be harder than I thought. Just as I entered my room I saw Gimlí. He was looking after Legolas with a heavy frown on his face.

'Huh, he knows something is wrong too.'

A.N: I'm planning to write another story in this community. I was thinking something along the lines of an Anti Mary-Sue agency. It will spread over a number of communities, but the first will be in this community. It will have a whole new cast. Please message me for suggestions of other communities and anything else.
