The mountains were steep, the paths treacherous. The cold, harsh wind bit into the lone figure's face, stinging him. He shoved the pain away and continued stumbling up the rocky path. He reached the top and took a moment to gasp for the little air that was at this height, then waved his hand and moved rocks aside, creating a small, circular hole in the mountain. He entered, cloak billowing behind in the snow and wind, his hood flapping. He ducked through the hole and closed the rocks behind him.

The inside of the mountain had once been a temple in ancient times. Hieroglyphics decorated the walls, tall pillars stained white by some unknown dye had grown dusty and grimy in their long abandonment. There were four pillars on either side, leading to a large, grandiose gate. It was open. The doors to the gate, standing to the side, looked like giant replicas of the stone slabs upon which the Ten Commandments had been written. They were decorated with images of stars and the nighttime sky. An image of a white tunnel with yellow windows graced both doors. In this hallway were two figures: a young, brown-haired girl and a blue man. The hooded man smiled.

"The first gate has been opened with the key of time." He whispered, his hushed voice echoing off of the walls. "Only two remain."

The second gate was made of a blacker stone, this time an image of two girls decorated the surface. One girl had white hair, the other dark. The dark haired girl had a knife imbedded in the white haired girl's chest. This gate only opened with the most heart-wrenching of betrayals.

This betrayal was nearer than either girl expected.
