That night, I dream about the fire. Only Tris doesn't get out, and we don't stay at Erudite headquarters, we stay at Candor, with Alzas, my mother, and my father.

My father.

I wake up when I see him.

My mind is cluttered, and I need to escape this room.

Uh-oh, there's always trouble when I have to leave the dorm.

Eric's death, the compound fire.

I was sure this would be just as bad.

As soon as I stepped into the hallway, I went downstairs. It was full of light, people silently working. It was calming, knowing that I wasn't the only one awake. I sat on a blue bench with white cushions, and breathed in the cool air.

Maybe this wasn't so bad.

I let my eyes close.

And I felt somebody sit beside me. I slowly open my eyes. Sitting next to me was Caleb.

I had jinxed my luck.

I swear under my breath. He would continue the conversation with me.

"Peter." He said, turning his head to me.

I looked at the floor. "Hey, Caleb."

He smiled at me. "You don't have to make this awkward for us, just a few things I need to get straight with you."

I nod and look up at him. His smile leaves his face and he becomes serious.

"First off, if you think of my little sister as some sort of game, you should just leave now."

I look at him in shock.

Did he really just say that to me?

I scoff, and turn my body towards him. "She's not your little anything."

Caleb's face turns from serious to curious. "I apologize if that came off rude." He said, scratching his neck. "I'm still trying to figure out how to address a Dauntless."

I laugh slightly, remembering him saying the same thing when we first met, how awkward he acted around me.

"What I meant to say is," He pauses. "And please don't be offended," He continued. "I just...don't want you toying with her feelings, ya know?"

His Erudite side is collapsing, and he speaks more natural.

I pretend not to notice and nod. I understood. I had a younger sister. Annoying as hell, but still, I hated seeing her unhappy.

For a second I am confused.

Why was he worried about me hurting Tris? He said that the way I stared at her was noticeable, and that I did a bad job hiding my affection.

So what is up with him?

We continued to speak the rest of the night, and I can't help but think that tomorrow will be awful.

"Good morning, Dauntless!"

It is not Four's voice that wakes up, but Jeanine Matthews.

"Report to the main room in six minutes." She points to the bin in the center of the floor.

It is full of new clean clothes. "When you change into these clean clothes, put your dirty Erudite clothes back. They will be washed."

She leaves.

I wake up next to a short haired blonde woman. I flinch. Who was she?

Tris. She was Tris. Tris had cut her hair.

I sighed. This would be something that I was going to have to get used to.

I quickly put my feet on the floor and look inside of the bin. I picked out another Erudite suit similar to this one, only it had a bow tie, and it was slightly big on me. I also took a pair of white dress shoes and stepped into the bathroom.

Here we go again. Button pressing.

I tapped something into the virtual screen and it felt like an avalanche of hot water hit me in the head. I yelped loudly, and I was sure the others heard me. I tried to turn it off, but it took a while for me to do so, and when I did, my back was flushed and stinging.

I had showered enough for today.

I am late to the meeting. It took more than five minutes for me to shower. I rush to the main room when suddenly, I collide with a small figure. She has short curly hair, that blocks her face. She is almost Alzas's height but slightly taller. She had a backpack on her, an Erudite short dress on. I had practically trampled over her.

"Peter?" She pushes the locks of hair out of her face.

Dinazed.

Winter's younger sister, Alzas's best friend. I immediately recognize her face.

I nod, not sure what to say.

"I heard about what happened to your compound, is it true that you will be staying with us?"

I nod again, still not speaking. She stands up straight, and licks her lips. "Alzas is worried about you." She says, adjusting her backpack. "She says she hopes that you made it out of the fire alive."

I speak when she brings up Alzas. "Really?"

Dinazed nods furiously. "She's been crying at school ever since she found out."

I turn my head sideways. "She doesn't think I'm dead, right?"

"Worry do not, I will tell her you are fine when I get to school." She clears her throat, pointing to her backpack. I nodded. I understood. I didn't want to hold her up any longer. I was already late for another meeting, I didn't want her to be late for school. I patted on the shoulder and allowed her to exit. I went downstairs to the main room, and saw the same thing I saw yesterday. The Dauntless surrounding Jeanine Matthews as she spoke.

She was calling out names.

"Uriah Pedrad."

He walked to Jeanine and she handed him a sheet of paper.

I hope to sneak in unnoticed, but she sees me instantly.

"There you are, Peter. You are late." She hands me a sheet of paper and I stop listening to the name she calls to look at it.

It was a schedule.

9:30 AM Breakfast

10:00 AM Lab C

10:30 AM Lab A

11:00 AM Lab B

11:30 AM Lab A1

12:00 PM Lab A2

3:00 PM Lab C

4:00 PM Lab A2

5:00 PM Lab A1

6:00 PM Dinner

7:00 PM Free Roam

8:00 PM Curfew

Is it odd that the only thing I understood out of that was Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Free Roam, and Curfew?

Of course free roam didn't mean visiting other factions headquarters, but maybe I see how Dauntless was doing, after all, it is my faction. Maybe I could try to visit.

Tris appeared next to me. It was so unexpected I jump. She laughs. "Do you have CABA1A2 after breakfast?" I looked at my schedule. I couldn't tell.

"The letter and number after each lab." She explained. I looked at it again.

Lab C Lab A Lab B Lab A1 Lab A2

CABA1A2

I nodded at Tris. She had a big smile.

"Then good news." She said, before pecking my cheek. "We have the same morning activities."
