Happy 2nd birthday to this story! (Even though it was on Thursday)

Two whole years. Wow. Nearly 500 drabbles, too? That's insane, you guys. I am so, so, so proud. It's been absolutely wonderful, and I can't wait to see what 2015 has in store!

I love you so much, my beautiful readers :) Happy (belated) new year! May it bring you all the joy in the world.

New Year's Morning

Kurt woke up with no one besides him. It was okay because it was temporary, and the blankets were warm while the outside world wasn't.

Outside the window, the skies were a blanket too, made of gray clouds that covered every spec of blue. The sound of rain was loud yet soothing, calming. The scent of rain was crawling inside where the window was opened just a crack.

All of those made Kurt drowsy again, and he flipped over onto his stomach, curling in on himself.

His phone buzzed suddenly.

"Ugh! What?" he called out before remembering his phone wasn't capable of replying; once he remembered, he reached out to blindly grab his phone from the nightstand and promptly knocked it off to hit the floor.

That woke him up a lot quicker- he rolled out the bed instantly and scrambled to find his phone, locating it on the floor and diving in. Once he made sure the phone wasn't harmed, he unlocked it and opened the message.

From: Blaine

Happy new year, my prince! Love you xo

Tears gathered in Kurt's eyes, mimicking the rain outside, and he sniffed. It'd been so, so long. He wanted Blaine back home, as soon as he could be here.

But Blaine won't be back until the rain will have already passed. Kurt sighed.

To Blaine:

Happy new year, baby. I miss you so much. Love you too :*
