I had a guest review a while back correcting my mistake of calling this particular Link the Hero of Time. When writing it I was thinking of the Gate of Time in Skyward Sword, and didn't even notice it. So, thank you for pointing that out to me as I have gone back and corrected it so it says, The Goddess's Chosen Hero in both the first chapter and the summary.

Chapter Five, All it Takes is one Mistake

Sky P.O.V

Darkness. Everywhere. It was the only thing surrounding me.

"He can't save you, no one can. The darkness will win. It is within you, part of you. You cannot hide from it!"

"I'm not evil! My brother knows the truth, he cares about me!"

"You think he cares? He doesn't remember you. You may be twins, but he is the light and you are the dark. Nothing you do will change what you are."

"Stop." I pleaded. "Please."

"You will destroy yourself, and he will never know, never remember. You cannot control yourself! You will kill them all!"

"Please, stop." I cried.

"Do my words hurt you? Anger you? Do you feel the power growing within you? Wanting to be released so everyone can feel the pain you feel? You want them to suffer, to feel the loss, the hurt, everything."

"No, no I don't. Stop, I can't- I can't-"

"Control yourself?"

"Sky wake up!"

I shot straight up, breathing heavily. "Link?"

"Are you okay?"

"No, no, no." I began sobbing.

Link got up and hurried over to me. He sat on my bed and hugged me, "Hey, it's okay. I'm right here."

"It was just a bad dream." He whispered.

But it wasn't, it was so…...real.

"What happened?"

You can't tell him. "I can't remember, it was all so dark."

"It was only a dream." He reassured me.

I nodded, "I think I'm okay now." Not even close to being okay.

"Alright." He started to get up, but I grabbed his hand.

"Link?"

"Yeah?"

"Can you stay here? Just for tonight?" My whole body was still trembling from the dream.

"Sure."

He ran back to his bed to grab his blankets before snuggling in next to me.

I was comforted knowing that my brother was right next to me and safe. He remembers me, he always will.

Always...

"Sky." Someone whispered in my ear.

"No, go away."

"You're drooling." Link said poking my cheek.

I smacked his hand away, "Am not." I said wiping my mouth with his blanket.

"That's gross!"

I sat up and laughed, "Why did you wake me up?"

"It's really nice out…."

"It's Skyloft, of course it's nice out." I laughed

He rolled his eyes, "Guess where we're going?"

I yawned, "Where?"

"I said guess." He whined

"That is my guess."

"Well it's wrong. We are going to the Lumpy Pumpkin."

"You can't fly that far by yourself!"

"You, me, mom and dad are all going. You get to ride with me."

Avoid flying.

Just once wouldn't hurt.

"Really? That's great!"

He looked so happy to hear that I wanted to come with.

"Awesome! I'll go tell them that you're coming with."

"Link, I think I'm still in trouble."

He shook his head, "No, I told them you really didn't mean to. You were never in trouble."

"Oh, alright."

'You will kill them all!'

I shook the thought from my head. It was only a dream.

Link and I jumped at the same time when he called his Loftwing. The crimson red bird swooped down and caught us.

"This is awesome, Link!"

He laughed and kept on following our parents to the Lumpy Pumpkin. I felt so safe, my family all around me.

Safe.

Moments later the peaceful silence was broken. A faint scream reached my ears, and I frantically looked around, but it was only my imagination. It had to have been.

"Link?"

"Yeah?"

"Do you hear that?"

"I don't hear anything."

I turned as much as I could to look towards Thunderhead, It was a perfectly natural cloud formation, but it looked darker than normal. The Thunderhead was very uncommon and had recently appeared, but the citizens of Skyloft were told not to be worried. I couldn't help but feel nervous at it's dark appearance.

Avoid flying with others.

A feeling of regret washed over me, "Link, maybe we should head back home."

"It's fine, Sky. We'll be fine."

Suddenly I heard more screams, "Link! Something's wrong!"

"Then we should head to the Lumpy Pumpkin." He told me, atill not seeming to hear anything.

I sighed, but agreed with him. He was probably right anyways.

Link's P.O.V

We sat on the diving platform at the Lumpy Pumpkin, laughing as we watched our parents race their loftwings. The sun was still rising and the weather was perfect for flying, it wasn't too windy. I looked towards the Northern part of the sky. I saw a colorful loftwing coming our way, I got Sky's attention and pointed at it. "Look at that loftwing, Sky!"

Her face went pale, and her blue eyes were wide.

"What's wrong, Sky?"

She let out a shriek, "Momma!"

"Sky? What's wrong?" I asked, feeling afraid.

"Skytail!"

"Skytail?!" I looked again it was closer, it was.

They came from the North, but it was rare. Recently a Thunderhead had appeared in the sky. And some were said to have been seen trapped inside it. My instructor said it was a very odd thing, but not completely unheard of, the cloud formation, anyways.

I could tell there was something wrong with this one. It's bright colors weren't so bright after all, and its eyes were a blood red; it also seemed to be foaming at the mouth.

"Momma, Momma! There's a Skytail coming!" Sky yelled, but she couldn't hear her.

"Daddy!" I cried, he didn't hear.

I looked to Sky, she had a frightened look on her face. It was a look that I had never seen before. I looked back to my parents, the Skytail was closer, and going towards my mother.

"Momma!" Sky screamed at the top of her lungs.

She looked over but it was too late. We watched as the Skytail bit the loftwing hard. The poison from the beast would paralyze it almost instantly. It did. The loftwing plummeted downwards with a final cry and my mother flew off. Father charged his bird forward and grabbed her hand. Relieved looks spread across all our faces, except Sky's. She was still focused on the Skytail which was heading straight towards mother.

"Dad!" She tried to yell, but her voice was already hoarse from screaming.

I called out too, but they were too far.

The Skytail spiralled forward and bit my mother, leaving a ring of red and deep teeth marks on her waist. She let out a cry of pain. Sky covered her ears, but continued to look, wanting to help mother.

The beast pulled mother downwards, away from father. I watched the blood drip down from mother's limp body.

She couldn't be dead.

I screamed for father to fly to us before it got him too. He didn't listen, or didn't hear. Sky and I watched as the tail of the creature swung to the side and crushed father's chest, pushing him off his Loftwing. I had heard that when one of the students at the Knight Academy was practicing a shield bash, they were hit in the chest. A broken rib punctured a lung. They luckily survived.

Now I knew my father wouldn't be as lucky.

I screamed to my parents. They stilI didn't hear me. I sobbed as I continued to watch.

The Skytail dropped my mother down beneath the cloud barrier and bit father. It dropped him as well.

The beast looked to us now. People at the Pumpkin Landing had come outside, one had already been sent for the Knights minutes ago. People rushed inside, though a few stayed and helped me get up and follow them.

Sky refused. She sat staring forward at the beast in the didn't look away, she didn't move.

"Sky!" I yelled.

No response.

The mouth of the beast was opened now, revealing the blood stained teeth.

The blood of my parents.

I felt sick, I felt like I would vomit. Things around me were spotted black, I couldn't hear well. I only felt myself fall back.

Sky's P.O.V

I did this.

It was my fault. I didn't move, I only sat still and stared at the beast. The teeth were covered with blood.

Power surged through me, but I did nothing to use it. I couldn't. I was cursed. This is what it was. A curse. It had to be.

I felt one tear roll down my face. I closed my eyes as I became dizzy from it all, my parents, the screams, my power, everything.

Darkness took over.
