Carmen a passé sa vie traquée, à se cacher des autorités pour rétablir la mémoire de son père officier de la Marine qui a trouvé la mort de façon suspect, et dont le seul témoin de l'innocence et de la droiture est un puissant équipage pirate. Il arrive cependant que la fuite n'apporte plus rien, passer un stade et qu'il faille passer à l'attaque.
