I hope you like it, and I'll see ya'll tomorrow :)
Big City, Small World
The subway has become stifling in its heat yet again, although outside it's not hot quite yet.
And it's just another morning, a bottle of iced tea in Blaine's hand and sweat over his brow. He makes his way into the crammed train car and finds a relatively empty corner and something to lean on, sipping from his bottle and waiting for the train to start moving.
Blaine spots a man sitting across from him, typing on his phone with the speed of lightening. He looks so familiar that Blaine's struck by it; for a moment he can't remember why or where he's seen the man before.
But it hits him as soon as the doors close- it's him, the man with the polite smile and the insane roommate.
And he notices when people stare at him for a few minutes straight, apparently. He looks up at Blaine and his eyes widen, brows drawing up. His cheeks turn bright red in matter of seconds.
Blaine smiles a hesitant smile. "Big city, small world, huh?"
The man lets out a shaky laugh. "I guess so, yeah."
"Is your roommate still insane?"
He smiles a real smile this time, and there's a dimple oh god he has a dimple how cute is that? "Oh, yeah, definitely."
Blaine tries to make small talk that won't be awkward and mostly fails, but at least he gets to see that smile a few more times.
When the train stops, and the man stands up to leave, Blaine can't stop himself from placing his hand on his forearm. "Wait!"
He turns around, a puzzled look on his face. "What-"
"I- I didn't even get your name," says Blaine lamely.
"Oh. Uh, Kurt. Kurt Hummel," he says and smiles again.
"Blaine Anderson," he blurts. "Are you… are you in a rush? Because I'm not and, I mean if you are then nevermind but-"
"I'm not in a rush at all, actually."
"Oh, great. In that case- do you want to grab coffee with me?" Blaine asks.
Kurt's dimple appears again in full force. "I'd love that."
Blaine has decided he likes small, stifling subway cars.
Yeah, he definitely likes those.
