Messages
~ Spirit World ~
"Is it true?" Leo asked as he walked up behind the Spirit King, who was sitting on the edge of a large cliff, his feet hanging over the edge, staring out at the vast ocean of swirling celestial magic, the blue and gold currents of magic giving off an ethereal light. "Is Draco really in the human world?" Leo asked as he looked up at his king, sitting down on the edge next to him.
"I'm afraid so." He answered Leo in a grave voice. He held out his hand and Leo saw a key form in it. Her once elegant key had turned black, the symbol burning a fiery red. "As you remember, she became consumed by her hatred for humans, I had no choice but to cast her out."
"She has lived with humans for five hundred years, why wait until now to try and start a war?"
"I believe she wants to hurt everyone at once, spirit and human." He said as the key disappeared from his hand, and looked down at Leo. "Why did you seek me out, old friend?"
"I've come to inform you that Lucy has found and contracted fifteen out of the sixteen jeweled keys." Leo looked up and saw a smile on his king's face.
"She has gotten much stronger through the years."
"She has become kinder as well, I pray that Draco never gets her way." Leo said with a sigh as he looked out at the ever changing sea of magic.
"Did you get more messages today?" The King glanced down at Leo, who nodded. "That is good, because he is starting to wake up."
With a sigh Leo stood up and brushed a bit of dust off of his suit, and made his way to where Laxus was. We will protect you Lucy. If Draco thinks she can kill you without a fight from us, she is wrong.
Laxus groaned as he opened his eyes, the light blinding him some. "Where am I?" He moaned as he sat up, only to fall back down as he felt a pain near his neck and lower abdomen.
"Easy, Laxus." He looked over and saw Leo sitting on a poof of pink wool next to him. "Your injuries aren't fully healed yet." Leo turned to look behind Laxus. "Aries, could you reshape the wool so he can sit up?"
Moments later, after Aries had reshaped the wool, Laxus was sitting up and looking around.
"Where am I?" He asked in a horse whisper. "Where is Lucy?"
"You're in the spirit world, you were seriously injured by those daggers, mainly because to the poisons. You were taken here to be treated." Leo answered, slightly nervous.
"And Lucy?"
"She's fine, she's still in the human world, though."
"Is- is she really pregnant?" Laxus asked in a low whisper.
Leo took a breath before answering. "Yes, she really is pregnant. She and your child are going to be fine, all of Fairy Tail is taking care of her. Speaking of them..." Leo held up a bag, and Laxus could hear something clank inside of it. "You have some messages." He handed it to Laxus and he opened it to reveal several orbs, varying shades of blue, ranging from deep blue to light blue.
"The older messages are darker, the newer ones are lighter." Leo told Laxus and looked at him, only st see his jaw tighten in anger and frustration.
"How long?" Laxus asked, and Leo sighed.
"Lax-"
"How fucking long have I been here!" He roared, glaring at Leo, making him flinch slightly.
"Eight hours, about one month for Lucy." Leo admitted, closing his eyes.
"And how long am I going to be here?"
"Anywhere between two to three days. It all depends on how fast you heal."
"So... Six to nine months!? So Lucy could have already had our child by the time I get out of here?" Laxus yelled as he tried to get up, only to be hit by a splash of water, knocking him back down.
"Lea... Was that really necessary?" Leo asked in an irritated voice, glaring at the young girl.
"Yes! Weren't you the one who said to use spirit water on him to recover his magic?" Lea asked innocently.
"Yes... But that isn't until all the poison is out of his system. What Delphinus was doing earlier was to help the healing magic through his system."
"Sorry..." The little girl said in a low voice, but when Laxus turned to look at her she smirked at him and took off laughing.
"You're not sorry at all! Come back you little brat!" Laxus tried to go after her but was held down by Leo.
"Do you want to be here longer than necessary?" He growled low in Laxus's ear.
"No." Laxus sighed and picked up the bag of lacrimas. " I guess I should watch these." He dumped them on his lap and picked out the darkest one. He twisted the metal band and the lacrima glowed slightly, and it projected an image above it, this one of Freed. Laxus sighed and sat back and started to watch.
"Laxus, I don't know when you'll get this message, but we promise you, everyone in Fairy Tail is doing their best to take care of Lucy. You had better come back soon, and in one piece. I have to go over to your place now, Nami needs a bit of help. She moved in to keep an eye on Lucy, something about a promise to you. I hope when you get this message that everything is fine, goodbye."
As the message ended and faded away he turned on the next one, this time Nami.
"Hey Spike Head! You don't need to worry about Lucy, I'm staying with her now, and I'm keeping my promise to you, nothing will happen to her. The one you need to worry about is yourself. The next time I see you when you get out of there I'm going to hit you harder than I hit Pinky, so be ready!" Nami flashed him a cocky grin before the message ended.
"I'd like to see her try!" He laughed as he picked up the next one and turning it on, almost dropping it when he saw who it was.
It was Lucy, she looked paler than normal, but she was smiling, and he saw Yukino next to her.
"Like this?" Lucy asked and Yukino nodded.
"Yes, do you see that light?" Lucy nodded to Yukino. "That means its recording, say hi."
"Oh!" Lucy blushed. "Hi Laxus!" He watched as Yukino's eyes widened slightly.
"This is for Laxus?"
"Yeah..."
"I'll leave you then." She turned and glanced at the lacrima before leaving. "Laxus, if you don't come back soon, well..." She glanced at Lucy and smirked. "I'll convince Lucy to name her child, if it's a boy, Orga." Yukino laughed as she left Lucy, and she let out a sigh before looking back to the lacrima.
"Don't worry, Laxus, I would never name our child Orga." She laughed, but then let out a slow sigh. "I wish you were here. So much is going to happen while you're gone, and I can't stand not knowing what's going on with you. I wish there was more I could do to help. Just promise me to try to come back to me before the baby gets here." Lucy reached up and brushed away the tears that had escaped her warm brown eyes, and Laxus could feel tears of his own.
"In two weeks I have an appointment with Wendy to see how our child is doing, and I'm going to record that so you can see child." Her free hand went to her abdomen and she smiled. "Until then I'm going to record a message every few days for you, let you know how everything is going. I love you, Laxus, so much, don't forget that. Goodbye."
As Lucy's face faded Laxus saw Leo holding out another bag to him, he opened it to find blank recording lacrimas.
"Her appointment is soon, a few hours her time, so make it quick and I'll give it to her afterwards."
"Thanks, Leo, but could you leave it in her mail, I want it to surprise her." Leo nodded and Laxus picked one up and twisted the metal band, and sighed when he saw the soft glow of the lacrima.
"Hey Blondie..." Laxus paused for a moment and sighed. "No... that's not right... Lucy..."

Lucy sighed as she waited in the infirmary for Wendy, her hands going to her abdomen. So far, it was small, but there was a noticeable bump, and her hands kept straying to it without her noticing. Laxus had better wake up soon, I want him to see our child as soon as he can. A sad smile crossed her face as she thought about him. At least he's alive.
Lucy heard the door open and she sat up and smiled as Wendy walked in.
"Sorry I'm late, Lucy. Just let me get everything and we'll get started."
Minutes later Wendy had a few lacrimas in her hands, and she sat on a stool next to Lucy, who was now propped up on several pillows laying on the bed, her shirt pulled up, exposing her stomach.
"Well, you're a bit big for nine weeks, but there shouldn't be anything wrong."
"Oh, hold on, let me turn this on." Lucy reached over and grabbed the lacrima and turned it on and turned it towards herself. "Hi Laxus, I'm with Wendy right now, getting ready to see our baby for the first time. Say hi Wendy." She turned it towards Wendy, who smiled.
"Hi Laxus, just about to get started." She looked over at Lucy. "Are you going to point that over here the entire time?" Lucy nodded and she sighed and blushed slightly. "Okay. Well this lacrima here." She held up a small, flat, two inch disk then placed it on Lucy's stomach. "Will let us hear the baby's heartbeat, we might not hear it during this visit, so don't panic. This one here." She held up a four inch disk and moved the ring on the edge around. "Will project an image of the baby for us to see, and I can tell how its doing and if there is anything wrong. Are you ready?"
Lucy took a deep breath and smiled. "Yes, go ahead Wendy."
Wendy nodded and Lucy watched as the two lacrimas began to glow, and let out a small gasp when the image was projected above the lacrima in soft amber tones. She watched as Wendy moved the disk around, searching for the baby, watched as the amber tones shifted, finally settling on a darker spot.
"Now, it's a bit early to see much, but that there is your baby." Wendy said with a smile.
"Its so small, Laxus, do you see it? Look how tiny it is." Lucy smiled and looked at Wendy, but her smile faltered when she saw a concerned look on Wendy's face. "Wait... what's that look for?"
"Well, I'm just wondering why you're slightly bigger than normal. Let me check something." Wendy told her and began to move the disk around, and Lucy watched with worried eyes until she stopped the disk, the same, yet slightly different image above the disk.
"Wendy, what's wrong with my baby?"
"Nothing's wrong." Wendy said with a wide smile. "Your babies are healthy."
"Go- Wait! Babies?" Lucy asked, shocked.
"Congratulations Lucy, and you too Laxus. Its twins!"
"Are you sure?" She asked.
"I'm positive." Wendy moved the ring around again, and the image zoomed out, and Lucy could see two distinctive darker spots.
"Now, the heartbeats are probably too faint for the lacrima to pick up right now, but that's nothing to panic about. But I want you in here every two to three weeks, just to make sure everything is going fine. This also means no magic, unless you really need it or are making a contract. Okay Lucy." Wendy gave her a stern look and Lucy nodded, turning the lacrima back to herself as Wendy left the room.
"Did you see them Laxus? We're having twins, oh, I have to go let the Guild know. I'll give this lacrima to Leo as soon as I seem him when he comes out on his own. Goodbye Laxus, I love you so much." Lucy turned off the lacrima and dashed out of the room, excited to tell the Guild her news, only to crash into Levy.
"Oh! I'm so sorry Levy. Here let me help." Lucy knelt down with Levy and helped pick up everything that had fallen from her arms, it looked like she had been to the mail room and was about to sort everything. As she was grabbing the last few items a very light blue recording lacrima caught her eye.
"Hey Levy, who is the recording lacrima for?"
"Its actually for you, it was just dropped off." Levy said as they both stood.
"Okay." Lucy slipped it into her pocket. "I'll watch it as soon as I finish my announcement." She looked over and saw Levy's face light up.
"Is it good news?"
"Very good news, everyone will be happy." Lucy walked over to the railing and looked down at everyone, taking a deep breath before smiling. "Hey! Everyone! I've got some news for you!" She called out and everyone turned to look up at her.
"What kind of news?" Makarov called up from his place at the bar.
"Yeah, what did Wendy tell you?" Erza called up with a smile.
"Well... I'm healthy..." She paused and looked down at everyone, at her family.
"What about the baby?" Cana called out from her seat next to Bacchus.
"The babies are healthy too!" She called out, Smiling.
"Well that's go-" Everyone watched as Makarov froze mid-sentence. "B-babies?" He asked, tears in his eyes, and Lucy smiled down at all of them.
"Yes, babies. I'm having twins." Lucy laughed a little as everyone cheered at the news, and then remembered the lacrima in her pocket. She made her way to the first floor and sat at the bar, Mira bringing Lucy her usual milkshake. She thanked her and took the lacrima out of her pocket.
I wonder who its from? Lucy held it in her hands and twisted the ring to turn it on, and it slipped between her now numb fingers. The entire Guild froze and turned at the sound of a familiar voice, and went completely silent when they saw the projection in front of Lucy.
"Hey Blondie..." Lucy watched with tears falling down her cheeks as Laxus took a breath and sighed. "No... That's not right... Lucy..." He breathed her name like a prayer. "I'm so sorry Lucy, for leaving you now of all times, but I don't regret saving you, and I would do it all over again if I have to. Don't be mad at Leo for not giving this to you right away, I wanted it to be a surprise." Laxus grinned out at her. "This one is going to be short, but its okay, I have more lacrima, all of them for you. Tell everyone at Fairy Tail that I'm coming home, I don't know when, but I will come home before our baby arrives, I promise. Don't worry Lucy, I will come back to you. I love you, more than you can imagine."
As Laxus's image faded, Lucy brought a hand up to wipe away her tears, the other going to her abdomen. He's awake! Her hand then trailed down to her keys, and felt their warmth. Thank you, so much, for saving Laxus.
