I'm back with another chapter I did a bit of research for this chapter since Damian's Charmander is kind of hard to think about since Ash already has a Charmeleon but you will see the decision I made when you read the chapter. All of you noticed that I added the ''Kanto'' in the story's title which means I'm only going to do the Kanto journey of Ash. I might be working on a sequel after this ;) Hope you all enjoy it! By the way, Don't forget to read the note after the story. I really really need it.

Chapter 9- Catching the trio starter of Kanto

Ash woke up while the sun is slowly rising to get ready for another day of adventure. He let out his Riolu as he, Pikachu, and Riolu began stretching and exercising all around the camping site. 'It sure is great to stretch around after resting in that ball.' Riolu said happily. This earned a smile from Ash and Pikachu.

Ash then let out all of his Pokémon who groggily wake up and yawned a bit. Ash chuckled at the scene and said ''Ok guys, it's time to get up and eat. We still have a long way before we reach Vermillion City.'' All of his Pokémon nodded indicating that they are now fully awake. All of them ate heartily until a rustle in the bush startled all of them. Out came a blue plant bulb with a round body, beady red eyes, and oval, foot-like roots. Five large, green leaves sprout from its head.

''Oddisshh?'' the Pokémon looked at them questioningly but more intently at the food they have.

Ash smiled at the Pokémon and started to walk closer to give it some of his Pokémon food but was stopped by a vine whipping him. Ash immediately took a jump back while his Pokémon took into fighting stance. A Pokémon growling at him has a small, quadruped Pokémon with green or bluish-green skin and dark patches. Its thick legs each end with three sharp claws. Its eyes have red irises, while the sclera and pupils are white. It has a pair of small, pointed teeth visible and has a bulb on its back.

''Bulba bulbasaur'' The said Pokémon growled at him angrily and stood protectively to Oddish who run away in alert.

''A Bulbasaur?'' Ash thought excitedly. He always wanted to catch Bulbasaur but first took out his pokedex and scanned it.

Bulbasaur, the Seed Pokémon. There is a plant seed on its back right from the day this Pokémon is born. The seed slowly grows larger.

Bulbasaur got a shocked look on his face when he saw Ho-oh and thought ''Why would Ho-oh go to this human? Does he have a pure heart?'' He was about to consider letting Ash battle and capture him but memories of his old trainer came back full force making him have a depress, angry, and most of all betrayed aura around him. He quickly shook his head and run off to find Oddish and get some space. Ash was about to give command to Charmeleon until Bulbasaur broke into sprints to look for Oddish.

'Ash did you sense that?' Riolu said to him. Ash nodded and said ''That Bulbasaur has a rough past with his old trainer. Maybe that's why he's pretty hateful to me.''

All of them nodded at this theory and Ash stood up saying ''I want to help that Bulbasaur. Since we've finished eating some food, we should pack up and find him.'' Once again, they nodded at him and were quickly returned to their own respective poke ball leaving only Pikachu and Riolu with Ash. Three of them quickly walk towards Bulbasaur went earlier and tried to find him. There were traps everywhere like some holes on the ground and some nets on trees. Thanks to Ash and Riolu's aura senses, they all avoided them thankfully.

Finally they reached a small village with some small Pokémon playing and working around. Then he saw a girl with blue hair tending a Butterfree who squeak in happiness of having his wounds cleaned. Then a rustle in the bush is heard. Ash turned around and saw the Oddish he saw earlier. Oddish has a cut on her body. Even though it is just a minor wound, Ash still pulled out a Potion and started to walk towards her.

Ash smiled at the Pokémon and was about to walk closer to heal it until a vine whipped him again forcing him to take a jump back. ''déjà vu much?'' Riolu thought making Pikachu and Ash sweat drop.

''Bulbasaur stop that! He's just trying to help Oddish.'' The girl with blue hair said with a soft yet strict voice making Bulbasaur withdrew his vine but is still wary of Ash.

Ash smiled at her softly and said ''No it's okay. I kind of understand him why is he like that. Oh and I'm Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town.''

''I'm Melanie and I took care of the injured and abandoned Pokémon here in this village.'' Melanie introduced herself and had a look of surprise when Ash said he understand Bulbasaur.

''So that's why there were traps almost everywhere.'' Ash chuckled making Melanie even more surprised and a bit look of confusion.

''Excuse me but how do you understand Bulbasaur and avoided the traps.'' Melanie said with curiosity.

''I'm using a power called Aura which makes me understand Pokémon and their thoughts. Almost everything around us has aura even rocks and I sensed the traps you've made so I avoided them all.'' Ash explained. Melanie nodded slowly trying to sink the information Ash gave to her.

'' Now it's my turn to ask.'' Ash said sheepishly making Melanie giggle lightly. ''Why is there a village here?'' he asked.

'' This Hidden Village is a place for abandoned or injured Pokémon to come to rest and relax. I took care for them until they're better, then they leave.'' Melanie answered. ''I also collect plants to use for medicine and I'm also an unqualified doctor.'' She ended with a smile.

''Then why do you set traps everywhere?'' Ash questioned the young girl.

''To avoid Pokémon trainers catching the Pokémon here. I'm only trying to protect the Pokémon since they are too ill.'' Melanie answered him. Ash nodded in understanding and said ''don't worry Melanie, I won't catch any of the Pokémon here'' he smiled honestly.

Melanie smiled softly and said ''Actually Ash, I want you to catc-'' She was cut off by Butterfree squeaking up in the air and then swallowed by some kind of vacuum as the wind around is being sucked off. Then they heard laughter at the sky and they saw Team Rocket reciting their motto yet again.

''Team Rocket.'' Ash growled. Melanie gave Ash a questioning look and Ash answered ''they're bad guys who hurt and steal Pokémon. Quick Melanie, take the other Pokémon and enter the cabin!'' Ash and Riolu were holding their feet in the ground to avoid being sucked as well as providing an aura shield to prevent the other Pokémon entering the vacuum but their efforts were a bit futile as some other Pokémon were sucked in. ''Still need to work on this shield..'' Ash thought.

Melanie gave a quick nod of appreciation and led the other Pokémon in the cabin. Unfortunately, Oddish is suddenly lifted up in air and was starting to get caught in the suction until a vine held Oddish in the air. Ash turned to look who did it and saw it was Bulbasaur who was struggling to get Oddish in the cabin. Ash smiled softly at him and saw Melanie and the other Pokémon were in the cabin safe so he and Riolu ran towards Bulbasaur and helped him pull Oddish out of the suction. Bulbasaur looked at him with slight admiration as they both pulled hard with Ash using his aura.

''Man you twerps sure are stubborn.'' Meowth sneered at them along with Jessie and James as he pressed another button to make the suction even stronger, making it even harder for Ash and bulbasaur. But they still didn't give up and kept pulling.

They pulled with one accidentally strong yank and Oddish is quickly sent to the cabin a bit hard. Oddish closed her eyes ready for the impact until a pair of arms caught her. Melanie smiled and said ''Quick let's get inside.''

Ash and Bulbasaur gave a sigh of relief that Oddish didn't hit the cabin hard and turn their focus to Team Rocket. ''Scyther come out and lend me your aura!'' Ash called out his Mantis Pokémon. Scyther sharpen his blades in anticipation and Ash smiled at him and said ''Ok Scyther time to test your aerial battle skill'' Scyther nodded and got into battle stance. Bulbasaur also got into fighting stance, willing to help out Ash. Ash read his thought and smiled ''Maybe I can catch Bulbasaur if he allows me that is.'' He thought.

''Ok scyther let's take out the hose first. Use Focus Energy and attack it with Steel Wing! Use Quick Attack to speed up.'' Ash said initiating the battle. Before Team Rocket, get their Pokémon out, Scyther quickly began to store his energy and flew towards the hose with speed. The shining metallic wings of Scyther appeared and attacked the hose, breaking it.

''You twerps are so going to get it!'' Jessie growled as she and James took out their Pokémon. Ekans and koffing growled, imitating their trainer's feelings.

''Ekans, Poison Sting!'' Jessie commanded. Ekans let out needle-like poisons from her mouth that is directed to Scyther which he dodged with speed.

''Use Sludge Koffing!'' James quickly commanded. Following his master's order, Koffing spews dark brown sludge at Bulbasaur from its mouth. Before Ash could help out Bulbasaur, Bulbasaur quickly dodged the sludge and quickly launched a seed coming from its bulb. The seed planted itself to Koffing as it zaps Koffing's energy making it grunt in pain.

''Scyther use Wing Attack! Speed it up with Quick Attack. Riolu add it with Force Palm.'' Scyther readied his white glowing wings and sped off towards Ekans. Before Ekans dodged, she was tied by a vine making her immobile to move away. Scyther quickly slammed his glowing wings to Ekans and Riolu suddenly appeaing and attacked Ekans as the snake hissed in pain. Bulbasaur threw Ekans towards Koffing as they both struggled to stand up. ''Riolu return for now.'' Ash said. Riolu nodded while panting. Aura shield are hard to control after all. Ash returned his fighting POkemon and took out another pokeball.

''Pidgeotto come on out!'' Ash said, throwing the poke ball and letting out his trusted flying Pokémon. ''Pikachu, ride on Pidgeotto's back and distract Team Rocket. Scyther use Quick Attack and get the Pokémon in the vacuum. When Scyther got all of the Pokémon out, use Thunderbolt Pikachu. Did you all get it? '' Ash explained his plan to his Pokémon quietly, not wanting Team Rocket to know their plan. The 3 Pokémon nodded and quickly do their roles. Bulbasaur decided to help Pikachu and started to distract Team Rocket.

While Team Rocket is trying to fend off Pikachu, Pidgeotto, and Bulbasaur, Scyther got most of the Pokémon out of the vacuum and only Butterfree was left in the vacuum. Scyther started to feel tired but shook his head and used another Quick Attack to get Butterfree. Unfortunately, Koffing saw him and spewed out sludge and hit Scyther's leg making the said Pokémon tripped a bit.

''Nice work Koffing'' James smirked but was quickly gone when he saw most of the Pokémon out of the vacuum.

''Come on Scyther...You can do it!'' Ash thought. Suddenly, Scyther disappeared in a blur of speed that Ash never seen before and got himself and Butterfree out of the vacuum. ''Whoa! That's one burst of speed'' Ash thought and scanned the move using his Pokedex as it beeped and said Pokémon Scyther learned Agility. ''I see... Scyther must have used Agility to increase his speed and used Quick Attack in a split second. Not bad.'' Ash smiled ''But I also need to work on his stealth to prevent this from happening again. Well look on the bright side, at least he learned a new move.'' He thought and started the final move ''Ok Pikachu, jump and use Thunderbolt!'' Ash commanded his trusty yellow companion. Pikachu jumped and let out a strong bolt of thunder as Team Rocket screamed in fear and blasted off again.

Scyther panted and fell to his knees in exhaustion as Ash patted his back and said ''Good job. You did well out there.'' He smiled as he returned the smiling scythe back to his pokeball to rest. ''Nice Job Pidgeotto'' Ash smiled as Pidgeotto squawked loudly and returned to her respective pokeball.

Melanie and the other Pokémon saw that it was over and got out. ''Thank you so much Ash for helping us'' Melanie smiled and Ash smiled back and said ''It was no big deal.''

''Ash, I have a favor to ask you.'' Melanie said while looking at Bulbasaur who was resting a bit. ''What is it?'' Ash asked her.

''I want you to catch Bulbasaur Ash. He needs to experience the outside world. The Pokémon in here is not going to stay here forever you know. So I want you to catch Bulbasaur and take care of him.'' Melanie explained to Ash. Ash nodded and said ''It will be great to have Bulbasaur as my friend.'' He smiled.

Melanie walked up to Bulbasaur and explained the situation to him. Shockingly, Bulbasaur seemed to be eager to go with Ash but was asking for a battle.

Ash smiled and nodded as Bulbasaur got into stance. ''Nidoran time for some battling experience!'' Ash yelled letting out the poison Pokémon as it growled in anticipation.

Bulbasaur took the first move by using Tackle and Razor Leaves backing him up. ''Use Confusion to stop the leaves and retaliate with Peck.'' Ash said as he already formulated a plan. The leaves behind Bulbasaur stopped as they fall to the ground like nothing but Bulbasaur continued charging and tackled Nidoran. Nidoranreadied his horn and also attacked Bulbasaur.

Bulbasaur started to feel a bit tired because of the super effective move and was a bit surprised that Nidoran have a move like Confusion.

''Use Focus energy and then use Peck!'' Ash said. Nidoran immediately concentrated and charged towards Bulbasaur with his horn ready. Bulbasaur tried to dodge but luck was not on his side as he was hit head on by Nidoran knocking him out.

Ash threw the pokeball at Bulbasaur as it twitched 3 times and dinged. It then disappeared in shimmery white sparkles and was transported to Oak's lab. ''Welcome to the team'' Ash smiled and returned Nidoran but not before praising him for a good battle.

''You have a full set of Pokémon?'' Melanie asked in which Ash nodded. ''I better go now Melanie thanks for everything'' Ash smiled as they parted ways…

Ash decided to walk on the path that intersects to Route 24. Pikachu resting on his shoulder, and the sun still high up. Yup, just a regular day for them. Suddenly, he felt a Pokémon getting weak and decided to help it. So he followed his aura senses and came upon a rock. On top of the rock, there stood the pre-evolved form of his Charmeleon. ''A Charmander? Not just a Charmander, a female one! Wow that's quite rare.' Ash thought in surprise. Then he saw the flame of her tail is getting quite small. Ash tried to get close but an Ember stop him.

''Why are you here? It's rare for a Charmander sitting on a rock.'' Ash asked the fire Pokémon. Ash looked at Pikachu for a translation.

'She said that she was waiting for someone and don't bother her.' Pikachu translated.

Ash respected her decision and left her...but he can't help but worry. ''Well I hope that someone is worth it, right Pikachu?'' Ash said. Pikachu nodded and stretched as they walked towards the nearest Pokémon Center, not noticing a crushed pokeball on the ground.

Pokémon Center

Many droplets of water hit the roof of the Pokémon Center as the rain started pouring. A small wave of nervousness hit Ash as he thought ''Is Charmander still there at the rock? Did the person pick her up yet?'' Ash decided to finish his soup and decided to transfer some of his Pokémon.

''Come on Pikachu, we're going to transfer some Pokémon'' Ash said to his buddy as Pikachu rode to his shoulder.

Ash dialed Professor Oak's number as it ringed.

''Ahh Ash, how may I help you?'' an old voice said as Professor Oak appeared at his screen.

''I just want to transfer Pidgeotto, Scyther, and Butterfree for Bulbasaur only.'' Ash requested. Professor Oak nodded his head and went to collect Bulbasaur's ball. Ash placed three pokeball on the slot as they disappeared. One pokeball appeared in a shimmery white light and Ash knew it was Bulbasaur's.

''Thanks Professor.'' Ash thanked him with a smile. Oak smiled back and said ''It was no problem Ash. Oh, and by the way? If you have time, will you please transfer Ho-oh since we have very little information about it.'' Oak asked.

''Sure Professor. See you again.'' Ash said as the call ended. He was about to go to his dorm until he heard laughter.

''Wow you sure got some powerful Pokémon Damien!'' a boy exclaimed in amazement

''Yeah but what happen to your Charmander?'' another boy asked.

''Well I ditched it in a rock since it's so weak. It even got beaten by a Bellsprout. What's worse that it's a female Charmander!'' a blue haired boy said with an arrogant voice as he and the others laughed. Ash's eyes widened and clenched his fist as his blood boiled in anger. He walked towards Damien as they looked at him.

''Whaddya wan-'' Damien started to ask but was cut off by Ash lifting him up, striking him a pang of fear.

''Go get your Charmander you ungrateful trainer.'' Ash said glaring at him coldly. The fear was then replaced by arrogance once again as Damien said ''Why should I pick a weak Charmander?''

''That's our job as a trainer! We train Pokémon and bond with them so that they can get stronger.'' Ash snarled at him and was about to punch him until Nurse Joy stopped him. ''This Center is for healing Pokémon, not for fighting.'' She said sternly at Ash as Ash apologized and let go of Damien. He glared at Damien and said ''I'm going to go get that Charmander and I will train her.'' Ash borrowed some raincoat and ran off towards the stray Pokémon. Pikachu sparkled his cheek at Damien as he and Ash left.

''Yeah sure go get that weakling'' Damien sneered as he and his buddies laughed.

With Ash

Ash ran and ran while using Aura to his feet to get faster. He finally reached the rock and looked on sadness at the scene before him.

Charmander is holding a leaf to protect her flame at her tail, but the effort wasn't enough as the flame started to get smaller. Ash picked her up and used his raincoat to cover Charmander.

''Hang in there Charmander. We're going to get you better again.'' Ash thought in worry. ''I'm going to kill that sorry excuse of a trainer.'' Ash mumbled in anger. Pikachu nodded as they sprinted off back to the Pokémon Center.

Pokémon Center

Ash looked at the glass where Charmander is resting. There are many machines attached to the poor Pokémon as he prayed that she will get better.

''Don't worry Ash'' Nurse Joy appeared and grabbed his shoulder ''Charmander will be ok. She just needs a good night rest'' she smiled at him as Ash nodded and stared at Charmander for a few moments before going to sleep.

Morning

Ash stood up from his bed early in the morning…Too early. ''Pikachu wake up. Let's warm up for a bit and train afterwards since its 4:05 am'' Ash woke up his buddy as Pikachu groggily opened his eyes and heard his trainer and nodded in agreement.

''Everyone come on out!'' Out came all of Ash's still sleepy Pokémon as they rubbed their eyes. ''Wakey wakey Bulbasaur'' Ash smiled ''since this is your first time training, Pikachu will explain our training program while everyone will start their training.''

Pikachu explained the training program to Bulbasaur in which he nodded in understanding. ''Ok everyone now that's done, I want all of you to use one attack each and make them stronger by firing it at either rocks or trees. It's your decision. Show me your results at the end of the training.'' Ash yelled so that they can hear them. They nodded and did their own training. Good thing the field is big enough to fit so many Pokémon especially Ho-oh.

''I hope Charmander is alright…'' Ash thought sadly for the Pokémon.

'Chosen one, I sensed your thoughts, what's wrong?' Ho-oh said.

''Well Ho-oh it goes like this…'' Ash told the legendary bird what happened and Ho-oh was furious that she started to fire Flamethrower everywhere.

''Ho-oh! Calm down!'' Ash yelled. The other Pokémon in training stopped what they're doing to calm the legendary bird down. And it worked a bit as Ho-oh stopped firing Flamethrower.

'Sorry Chosen One…I guess I'm still not used getting angered so quickly...I just hate humans that treat Pokémon so badly...especially since it's fire type too and female one at that.' Ho-oh bowed her head to apologize. Ash pat her head and said ''It's ok. Everyone gets angry sometimes.'' He smiled and said to them to get back to their training as the said Pokémon went back to training with Ash helping and advising them all the way.

After training (8:00am)

We now see the field a bit destroyed thanks to Ash and his Pokémon as Ash sheepishly rubbed the back of his neck ''Maybe we overdid it a little' 'Ash thought with a sweat drop at least they improved a bit. He spends much more time training Bulbasaur, Sandshrew, and Nidoran. All in all, the training was good and they improved. ''Still need to work on their speed and defense...and the longevity of their attacks. No need to worry, we will work on that in the future.'' Ash thought. While training, he observed all of their weaknesses. After all, everyone has weakness. He just needs to cover them for a bit.

''Anyways good job everyone! Now return and get your well deserved rest.'' Ash smiled at them proudly as they cheered rather weakly well except Ho-oh since she still has some more energy. Ash returned them all except for Pikachu as he went to Nurse Joy to heal his Pokémon.

Ash ate his breakfast and heard his name signaling that his Pokémon were all healed. He quickly went to get them and ran to Charmander's healing room. He was shocked to see that she wasn't there. ''Where is she?!'' Ash asked himself as he sprinted off outside and widened his Aura senses. 'Hey Ash, Maybe she's back on the rock?' The yellow Pokémon said and that clicked on Ash's head and said ''you're right Pikachu'' Pikachu sweat dropped at his trainer but shook it off as they ran towards the rock.

They saw a flock of spearows attacking Charmander. Ash was about to help until a strong massive stream of flames attacked the Spearows and the cause of that is Charmander!

''Whoa Pikachu! Charmander sure is strong.'' Ash smiled as he watched the fried Spearows flee away. Then he finally noticed a crushed pokeball near the rock and a flash of rage appeared at his eyes ''that brat abandoned Charmander!'' Ash thought but focused on Charmander in the moment. Unknown to them, a blue haired boy watched all of this with surprised eyes.

''Great job Charmander!'' Ash praised her and patted her head affectionately. Ash was shocked when he felt a tug from his aura and he felt that its Charmander's! He accepted it immediately. For the first time since Ash saw Charmander, The said Pokémon smiled at him. 'Thank you for caring for me...I waited and waited for my previous trainer to come back...but I can tell that he will not be returning anytime soon. So can I come with you? 'Charmander asked hopefully. Ash smiled brightly and said ''Of course you can come with me.'' He was about to tap the pokeball to Charmander until an arrogant voice stopped them.

''Oh Charmander! I came back just like I promised'' the voice said as the person appeared out of the clearing. Ash and Pikachu knew that he saw the power that Charmander has and immediately glared at him. Even Charmander glared at him.

''Damien.'' Ash growled ''Sorry but Charmander is coming with me.''

Now its Damien's turn to growl and said ''Charmander is my Pokémon. I have the right to return to it!''

Ash snorted and said ''Well too bad, you abandoned her and she already made her decision'' Charmander nodded and stood up next to Ash. Damien's face turned red in anger and yelled ''that's it! I challenge you to a double battle! If I win I get to keep that lizard!''

Ash's eyes hardened at the insult and said ''I accept''

''Starmie, Weepinbell let's beat this weakling!'' Damien yelled letting out a rather dirty Starmie and Weepinbell. It's obvious that they're lacking care and training from their trainer.

''Charmeleon, Bulbasaur let's fight for our new friend!'' Ash shouted and out came his Charmeleon eager to fight and Bulbasaur excited for his first battle.

''Hahhahahaa! You must be an amateur! Do you even know that fire is weak against water? And you haven't even evolved your Bulbasaur! Well weak Pokémon deserves weak trainer then'' Damien taunted with a smirk. He paled when he saw Ash, Pikachu, Bulbasaur and Charmeleon glaring at him coldly not only that, Ash's aura was making his hair stand up a bit and the small bits of rocks rise up a bit. Charmander shook his head at his former trainer and thought 'He's screwed.'

''Leech Seed and Growl...'' Ash ordered. Bulbasaur released 2 seeds from his bulb as it quickly attached to Starmie and Weepinbell before Damien could say dodge. Vines started to wrap around Starmie and Weepinbell as it zapped their energy. Not only that, a deafening growl lowered their attacks as well

''Use Vine Whip and throw them to the air.'' Ash sharply said. Bulbasaur quickly used his vines and throw Starmie and Weepinbell with difficulty but was successfully thrown in the air.

''Stramie hit it with Bubble Beam! Weepinbell Razor Leaf.'' Damien said, finally having the time to order. Starmie spit out a stream of bubbles aiming towards Bulbasaur while Weepinbell let out some leaves.

''Roll to your left and use Razor Leaf and Flamethrower while they're on the air.'' Ash quickly instructed. Bulbasaur and Charmeleon followed what their trainer said as they rolled to the side and let out sharp edge leaves and a strong stream of flames as it sped towards Starmie and Weepinbell. Since Starmie and Weepinbell is on air, it's hard to dodge and was hit. 'Critical Hit'' Ash smirked as both Pokémon landed with a thud and the core beeped signaling that Starmie is knocked out and the swirls in Weepinbell's eyes.

''Great job for your first battle Bulbasaur. You too Charmeleon, great job as always.'' Ash smiled at him and he saw Bulbasaur let out a tear of happiness since he's getting much better care from Ash and said 'Thanks Ash…For everything 'While Charmeleon puffed out his chest in pride. Charmander stared at Charmeleon in awe and admiration as he was inspired to get stronger as ever.

Damien was red in anger as he angrily returned Starmie and Weepinbell. He let out a bunch of pokeballs and was about to throw it towards Charmander until a vine wrapped around him as he was restrained. ''Nice Job Bulbasaur.'' Ash said. ''Now all we need is to call Officer Jenny'' he said striking a fear to Damien.

Officer Jenny appeared out of nowhere and said ''Have any of you saw the cause of the Flamethrowers in the sky?'' she asked

Ash sweat dropped and said ''that was my Pokémon officer, sorry about that.''

Officer Jenny nodded and saw Damien trying to get out of the vine. ''Hmmm I think I recognized you from somewhere...''

''Well perfect timing officer, this is Damien. I was about to call you since he has a crime for abandoning Pokémon.'' Ash reported to her. Jenny's eyes widened in realization and said ''Ah Now I remember, you have records for starting a pOkemon Journey without an authorization of a Pokemon Professor. Also has many records of Pokemon Abuse. the young lad is right. Damien, you are under arrest for Pokémon abuse and abandonment! Now come with me so we can determine your fate.''

''Serves him right.'' Ash and the other Pokémon thought as Damien was held by Officer and headed to the station, cursing all the way.

''Now that's taken care of, are you really sure you want to come with me?''Ash asked Charmander as Charmander's answer is tapping the pokeball in Ash's hand as he was captured. Ash smiled and thought ''Welcome to the team'' The pokeball dinged signaling a perfect capture as he also returned Charmeleon and Bulbasaur back to their pokeball.

''Well Pikachu'' Ash smiled as Pikachu looked up to him as they walk ''Another Day, Another new friend'' They then walked towards the direction of Vermillion City.

While walking, Ash let out all of his Pokémon for some Defense training. He gave them instructions which they followed immediately. Ash took out his Pokedex and scanned his newly caught Charmander.

Charmander, the Lizard Pokémon. From the time it is born, a flame burns at the tip of its tail. Its life would end if the flame were to go out. This Charmander is Female and has the ability Blaze. Known Moves: Growl, Scratch, Ember and Flamethrower. Charmander has an egg move Flare Blitz but it is not yet unlocked.

Ash smiled at the fire type and said ''you are one awesome Pokémon'' Charmander only blushed in his praise and continued her training.

'Wow, you have an egg move. Not even I have one.' Charmeleon's deep voice said. Charmander blushed yet again as more and more praise get to her.

'Thank you everyone. I made a really great choice to join you all.' The feminine voice of Charmander said.

'It was nothing little one.' Ho-Oh said 'Ash here is the purest trainer of them all. I'm sure he will take care of you greatly...unlike your previous trainer' There some distaste in Ho-Oh's voice referring to Charmander's former trainer.

Ash smiled at Ho-Oh's care for the Pokémon ''Calm down Ho-Oh. He got what he deserves.'' Ho-Oh calmed down a bit and all of them continued their training.

SCRRRRRRREAAAAAAAAAMMMMMM!

A pitched scream was heard and it stopped them all from training. Ash quickly returned all of his Pokémon except for Pikachu as he quickly run to the source of the scream.

Then he saw 5 Squirtle laughing at the ground which has a human size hole in it. Then he saw a girl with orange hair yelling at the 5 laughing turtle.

''Misty?'' Ash said. Then the girl looked at him and said in shock ''Ash?!''

Ash was about to help Misty up but jumped up after sensing a stream of water coming at him. ''Bulbasaur use Vine Whip and lift Misty up. Pikachu distract the Squirtles.'' Ash throwing the pokeball and the form of Bulbasaur appeared with a vine helping Misty up. Another water gun was launched but was intercept by Pikachu's thunderbolt causing an explosion and smokes everywhere. Another attack was about to be released until a siren was heard. The Squirtles quickly got out using the smoke as a distraction.

'They're quit pranksters like me but at least they're a bit smart. But I'm much smarter.' Sandshrew complimented. Ash and his Pokémon sweat dropped

'This is not the time for compliments' Pidgeotto said. Sandshrew rubbed his head sheepishly. Ash sighed and returned Bulbasaur as the red light enveloped him and disappeared.

''Are you guys ok?'' the worried voice of Officer Jenny said as she got out from her vehicle.

''Yeah we're ok.'' Ash answered her.

''Hey Ash, thanks for helping me out there.'' Misty said smiling at him. ''It was nothing.'' Ash smiled back.

''Anyways, You got to be more careful here. Those Squirtles are what we called the 'Squirtle Squads' They are a group of Squirtle that have all been abandoned by their Trainers, and all they do is run wild and play pranks on everyone.'' Officer Jenny explained to them.

Ash frowned at the explanation. He didn't like people who abandoned their Pokémon.

''Maybe that's why they like pranking people. It must have some trust issues.'' Ash thought.

'I hope there is more pure people like you Ash. I really hate that kind of people too.' Ho-Oh sneered and the other Pokémon nodded in agreement.

''Well, I got to track them now. Be careful out there ok.'' Jenny said and with a nod from Ash and Misty, she drove away.

''Hey Ash, can you fish with me? I need some company for now.'' Misty offered.

''Sure'' Ash nodded and they got to the lake. Ash is resting under the shade of the tree while Misty is fishing from some water Pokémon. Suddenly, a water gun was shot to Misty's face, angering her. Ash was about to help Misty until a familiar trio showed themselves and performs their motto…again.

''Team Rocket.'' Ash sighed ''When are these trio stopped appearing in my life.''

'They really like screwing your life' Charmeleon chuckled.

''Shut up.'' Ash replied which made the fire Pokémon chuckle even more.

A Koffing and Ekans snapped him out of his thoughts as Ash took out two pokeballs. ''Riolu, Rattata battle stance!''

The form of Riolu and Rattata appeared and excitedly took their fighting stance.

'It's been a while since I've last battled.' Rattata mused.

'Me too. Good thing Ash isn't neglecting us.' Riolu replied. Ash smiled and said ''Of course. I will never neglect my Pokémon.''

''Koffing, Smokescreen.'' James voice was heard initiating their battle. Koffing released thick green smoke from its hole, covering the whole field. Misty coughed a bit while Ash used his aura to hold his breath much longer.

''Ekans, Poison Sting!'' Jessie ordered. Ekans opened her mouth and releases white dart and heading towards to Ash's Pokémon.

''Riolu, use your aura sight and guide the two of you to dodge!'' Ash quickly said. Riolu closed his eyes and guide himself and Rattata to dodge the white darts. While Ash was in the heat of the battle, Meowth and the 5 Squirtles sneaked behind Misty and covered her mouth to prevent her from screaming and tied her up using a rope. Then they ran off, leaving the lake and heading towards to some kind of cave.

''Alright, finish this with Blaze Kick and Hyperfang!'' Ash said with finality. Rattata's large white teeth glowed a bit and raced off with Riolu's blazing feet. Ekans and Koffing layed down with swirls in their eyes.

''Pikachu, the usual please.'' Ash said. Pikachu nodded and released a bolt of lightning causing another explosion and blasting off Team Rocket and the smoke was gone after the battle.

''Hmmmm, that was strange? Where's Meowth? What do you think Misty?'' Ash asked and turns around. He was then met with air and realized ''I was tricked!''

''How could I be so careless?!'' Ash said in frustration.

'Calm down Chosen One, everyone makes mistake.' Ho-Oh said.

Ash sighed ''Sorry about that. I was into the heat of the battle too much. I really need to train my aura sight more.''

''Don't worry ash! I'll help you'' Riolu beamed brightly making Ash feel better and thanked him.

''well, let's find Misty and save her.'' Ash said praising his Rattata and Riolu for a great battle and returning them from their pokeball. Ash ran off and used his aura to look for Misty's. ''Time to practice it now.'' Ash murmured and widened his aura sight.

''There she is.'' Ash smiled and ran off.

With Misty

The Squirtles and Meowth were getting really annoyed with Misty's constant yelling.

''If you don't get me out of here or so help me you are so going to get it!'' Misty yelled at them annoying them even more.

''That's it! I'm can't take it anymore! Taste my Fury Swipes.'' Meowth said and taking slow steps towards Misty who was getting nervous. When Meowth was about to scratch, a thunderbolt shocked him and he yelp in pain.

''Great job Pikachu! Looks like I came just in time '' A boy voice said. They all looked around and saw the person.

''Ash!'' Misty said in relief. The Squirtles took their fighting stance until a flash bomb made an appearance exploded, blinding our heroes. Ash quickly recovered and used this moment to untie Misty. ''Quick let's get out of here.''

Misty nodded and both of them ran off towards the exit. Outside, they saw Team Rocket throwing bombs to the cave creating a fire that may burn down a whole town.

''Aren't they going to give up anytime soon?!'' Ash said in annoyance. Then he saw Meowth with them which made him growl a bit. 4 Squirtles got out of the cave but panic when they saw their leader not with them.

''Alright listen to me you 4. Use your water gun to minimize this fire. Misty, please take out your water Pokémon and help. I'll go find their leader.'' Ash instructed immediately. Misty got worried but Ash stopped her ''don't worry, I'll be ok.''

Misty nodded and took out her Pokémon and helped the Squirtles while Ash ran towards the cave.

'Ash there he is!' Pikachu said pointing towards a Squirtle with pointy glasses, struggling to get back up to its feet. Ash quickly ran towards it and helped him. Squirtle looked at him in confusion. Ash quickly knew that look and said ''Even though you're a load of trouble, you're still a Pokémon. Not only that, you were abandoned. I always help Pokémon and will never leave them. So let's get out of here.''

Squirtle looked at him in shock and slight admiration but quickly followed Ash out of the cave. While they were nearing the exit, a big rock started to fall from above and it headed towards Squirtle. Without thinking, he jumped towards Squirtle shielding him and also dropping Pikachu.

'Ash!' Pikachu yelled. Pikachu ran towards Ash and relaxed. He saw Ash using an incomplete Aura shield and gritting his teeth in frustration. ''I can't keep this much longer.'' He thought.

''Squirtle, quick'' Ash said gritting his teeth much harder. ''I can't keep this up much longer. Go with Pikachu and get out of here. I'll catch up along the way.'' Ash panted. Squirtle was touched by Ash's action and his eyes were burning with determination, though it was not seen since it was hiding behind the glasses. Squirtle and PIkachu nodded to each other and readied their attacks.

Squirtle started to surround himself in a silver aura and slam its head to the rock with Pikachu adding it up with Iron Tail destroying the rock to pieces in the process.

Ash smiled and said ''Thanks Squirtle, Pikachu. Now let's get out of here.'' All of them ran off and got to the exit. They saw the fire being put out now thanks to Misty and the Squirtles. Then he saw Team Rocket still there, running out of bombs.

''Pikachu, I will throw you up in the air. While you're at it, use Thunderbolt.'' Ash said. Pikachu nodded as he positioned himself in Ash's hand. Ash used his aura to power up his throw and threw Pikachu in the air.

'Oh Yeah! This is awesome!' Pikachu yelled in glee. Ash sweat dropped and said ''Pikachu, Thunderbolt now!''

'Ok ok easy there. No need to remind me again' Pikachu mocked a bit making all of Ash's Pokémon laughed and Ash sigh as Pikachu launched his thunderbolt, blasting team rocket yet again.

''Great job Ash! I'm glad you're ok.'' Misty said smiling at him. Ash smiled back and he felt a tug at his pants. He looked down and saw Squirtle looking at him.

''You want me to battle and catch you?'' Ash asked. Squirtle nodded ''But what about you're squad?'' Ash asked again.

''Don't worry, they'll be with me'' Another voice said. Ash looked around and saw Officer Jenny.

Ash nodded and an idea popped at his head. ''What about an official firefighter squad?'' Ash suggested. Office Jenny thought about it and said ''that's not a bad idea. Well come on Squirtles, we will need to appoint you to this town's official firefighter squad''

The 4 Squirtles jumped up and down in happiness. Their leader walked towards them and said their goodbyes to each other as the 4 Squirtles left with Officer Jenny.

The remaining leader of the Squirtle Squad then got into a fighting stance and got ready for battle.

''Sandshrew, battle stance!'' Ash said and releasing his Sandshrew from its pokeball. Misty raised an eyebrow because of the type disadvantage but shrugged it off since Ash knew what he was doing.

Squirtle started off with a Water Gun heading towards Sandshrew.

''Dig to dodge! And then use Slash when you come out!'' Ash ordered. Sandshrew dug its way underground making Squirtle look around frantically. A few second later, Sandshrew came out behind Squirtle and slashed him using his claws. Squirtle groaned in pain and started blowing out bubbles behind him, effectively hitting Sandshrew.

Sandshrew flinched at the super effective attack but still waits at Ash's command.

''Use Swift and finish it with Rollout!'' Stars started to come out from Sandshrew's mouth. Squirtle was unable to dodge and was hit. When he opened his eyes, he was blasted back by the rolling Sandshrew. Squirtle lay on the ground with swirls in his eyes.

''Go, Pokeball!'' Ash said throwing an empty pokeball to Squirtle. It twitched a few times before it dinged in success.

''Great job Sandshrew! Hope you're ready from some training tomorrow.'' Ash smiled and returned him.

'I was born ready Ash and I'm glad I have earned a new pranking partner.' Sandshrew said cackling a bit. 'We're doomed.' Bulbasaur said making them chuckle. Ash quickly formed an aura bond with Squirtle and took out his pokedex.

Squirtle, the Tiny Turtle Pokémon. When it retracts its long neck into its shell, it squirts out water with vigorous force. This Squirtle is Male and has the ability Torrent. Known Moves: Water Gun, Withdraw, Bubbles and Skull Bash. Squirtle has an egg move Aqua Jet but it is not yet unlocked.

Ash whistled and thought ''that's an awesome moves right guys?'' All of his Pokémon nodded. 'What do you all expect?' Squirtle said smugly after recovering for a minute.

'Though I'm wondering why his ego isn't included in the list.' Charmander said with sarcasm making all of them laugh and Squirtle blushed in embarrassment as both he and Charmander started to bicker.

Ash smiled at the interaction and cut off the communication for a bit since Misty was calling him.

''Did you say something Misty?'' Ash said. Misty sighed and said ''I said congrats and I have to go now. Still need to train to become a Water Pokémon Trainer you know'' Misty said. Ash nodded and they both parted ways…

Few hours of resting and defense training...

'Whoa you were not kidding about how tough Ash's training is' Squirtle said panting.

'At least it made us stronger every day.' Charmander said. 'We're just newly caught you know. Of course it will be hard.' Bulbasaur said shaking his head.

'It's very strange how Ash caught all three of you and your entire story was because of abandonment.' Ho-Oh mused. They all thought about it and she was right. ''Arceus just want to mess with me right'' Ash sighed running a hand through his hair and all of them gave a hearty laugh.

It's getting a bit dark now since it's about nighttime. ''OK everyone, return and get some rest. You all did a great job today.'' Ash praised them and returned them all to their pokeball

''Only 1 more day Pikachu, and we'll be at the Vermillion. Let's get some sleep now buddy.'' Ash said setting up the tent.

Pikachu yawned and said 'Goodnight Ash.'

''Goodnight Pikachu.'' Ash smiled and they both slept with the starts watching them…

Finally finished! Sorry about the very long wait: 3 next chapter is going to take awhile since I need to do a chapter to my other story.
