'I don't know what to say, but sometimes men are just stupid, and they think they have to solve all the problem,' Jo told Carol, 'Maybe he couldn't think of anything else, or thought he was protecting you or something,'
'He went behind my back,' Carol was finally calm nursing Sophia rocking on the old rocking chair.
'If I had a dollar for every dumb thing Hershal did that did when he thought he was protecting his family I would be a rich women,' Jo told her. 'They sometimes ... there's a line between overwhelming need to protect their family or men that have to control your every move,'
'He's pretty dumb,' Carol told her, 'I ... he's not like wanting to control every move, ... I don't know Jo,'
'What, if you let this slide, whats he going to pull next,' Jo asked her, Carol nodded.
She couldn't believe how much Jo understood, he hit the nail on the head about everything Carol was feeling, she loved Daryl but she was so mad at him. She just didn't know how to deal with it all. Everything she'd been through and nearly losing him now she was so mad at him, he just didn't get it. He couldn't get it. She just needed to figure it out why Ed saved them, Sophia.
Why he'd done the horrible things he did but then saved her when they were desperate to help. Ever since she found out about his father she wondered if that was behind his drinking and horrible mood swings, and his drinking and his odd sex habits the few times she did have consensual sex with him. He was nothing like Daryl was. She knew he must have been abused somehow also. She wasn't hundred percent sure what or how, but she wanted to talk to him.
'My advice Carol and I say this with a life long of experience,' Jo looked at her, 'You forgive him... now hear me out, you forgive him because if you don't your going to be made as hell for the next few months and every little thing he does from the way he eats to breathes will drive you crazy.'
Carol looked at her, she already was annoyed with the way he snored when he was over tired.
'But you let him sweat for a bit, hang out here, let him think your still mad and then you get the things done that you've been asking him to do for months.' Jo chuckled, 'Carol bottom line is, you love him, he loves you but sometimes they are just dumb arses, pure and simple.'
'He is being selfish,' Carol commented.
'Also he stuck because he can't leave the hospital, so he's doing what he can from his hospital bed to keep you and Sophia safe,' Jo told her, 'He's trying to defend your honor or some thing. That boy, I've known him for quite some time, he wouldn't do something to hurt you on purpose,'
'What did you get Hershal to do?' Carol asked mildly interested in turning it around to get them to do something they didn't want to do.
'Well once, he thought he was helping and he wasn't ... I made him take ballroom dancing lessons,' Jo laughed rocking on the swing,' now pass me that baby,'
'Did he do the lessons?' Carol asked.
'And smiled the whole way through,' Jo pulled Sophia up over her shoulder to burp her, 'I also had him do bath time for a whole month when he volunteered me to a social group to supply supper for 40 people.'
'40 people?' Carol asked. Jo looked like someone who could put together supper for 40 people on her ear.
'With 2 hours notice,' Jo continued.
Carol snorted.
'And he canceled my appointment to get my legs waxed that afternoon to help me do it,' Jo told her, Carol glanced her way, 'Don't look at me like that, I'm not as old as look,'
'I wasn't saying anything,' Carol giggled, she couldn't help but look at Jo's leg's that were sticking out the bottom of her pants, 'Is there a good place here? Do you still go?'
'Yes, you should go, they call them self a spa now, ' Jo told her, it sounded like a good idea to Carol. 'But you should text Daryl and Andrea, let them know your safe, you don't need to tell them where you are, but you need to let them know your safe. I can hear your phone going off from here,'
Carol nodded, then looked at Jo, 'I'll ring him but can you pull some strings to get me a appointment, for a wax and massage?'
'Only if I get to look after one of the most beautiful girls in the world,' Jo told her, both women stood to go use the phone and sort some things out.
